You called me once yesterday, and your phone is now off. Again. The only reason i tried calling is because i want you to know what you have done to us. We first had to move all of my stuff down into my building lobby because i had to return my keys to the landlord by 4pm. And we scheduled this ONLY because you had promised us the 4-5pm slot. Then we had to sit in that lobby from 4-11pm... 7 hours, before we finally realized that you were not coming. I should have known that when your phone was off.... Your guys had first called at 5:15- after they were already late. They told us they were running late and it would be 6:30pm. When we called them at 6:40pm he said they were running late and would get to us 9pm latest. When we called at 9pm, he didn't answer the phone and just sent a text saying he really didn't know when he would end. And then never picked up the phone again through the rest of the night, nor called us. Ever. It took us 2 hours to find a method of transportation at that time of night, a miracle of two amazing friends being able to help us, and 4 back and forth drives to get all the stuff, walking up 4 flights of stairs until 4am. We still couldn't finish everything as we are not professional movers, so we had to leave stuff in the new building lobby, and then have two guys come and bring the rest of the stuff up first thing in the morning. I have yet to even receive an apology from any of you. You guys are truly the most abominable people i have ever had to communicate with. DO NOT HESITATE, HIRE THEM! I have now moved over four times in my mere three years in the city, and, I have to tell you, it never went as quickly and seamlessly as it did with Jason and Felix from Bubble Wrap Movers. I have to admit, I was a little hesitant to use a non-corporate company at first (just from friends' horror stories), but I relied on yelp reviews (which are usually pretty accurate) to reassure me that going for a local company was the smarter move. I did not regret it at all. First of all, let me tell you, Jason (the owner/manager) responds to calls/texts/etc very, very quickly and is extremely communicative for how busy he is. Whenever I had a question or problem, he was available within minutes to talk me through my concerns. Because of various circumstances, I wound up having to cancel my move on Jason twice before finally following through, and he was extremely flexible and gracious about letting me move the date around. Jason and Felix showed up exactly at the appointed time and showed up ready to work. I know some people think that pay-by-the-hour movers go slowly to extend their rate (that's what some of the corp companies want you to believe), but both of them showed up to work. They don't need to drag their feet to make money, they're so popular that their whole day is booked and they need to get a move on! They both helped finalize some packing issues, dealt with lots of stairs (I live in a 3 floor walk-up, but it's sort of a narrow, difficult staircase), and moved me all the way from MIDTOWN (ie Times Square) to Brooklyn. While they were fast, they made sure to wrap all my items appropriately, and nothing was even bumped, much less damaged. Finally, they were just extremely good guys. They were both really smart, funny, and genuinely nice people. I love that Jason has started this business to help employ college students in need of some extra cash. I don't know why you WOULDN'T want to support that cause by hiring these guys, especially since they're significantly cheaper than the corporate alternative. Bottom line: Punctual, affordable, quick, quality moving service provided by people who are interesting to talk to and who take pride in their work. I've used/researched quite a few moving companies and this one was the only one with reasonable prices and insurance. So I was a bit nervous but all that went away when Jason and Joel showed up. When I say both of these gentlemen couldn't have been nicer it's really true. They took great care to ensure that all of my stuff stayed in great condition and made sure everything was set up to my satisfaction before leaving. They were also gentlemen and were extra polite. Felix and Anthony were my movers - they were both super friendly and incredibly relaxed despite being stuck in the worst of Manhattan rush hour traffic, and they were patient as I dealt with paperwork at my storage unit. They were very transparent with pricing and made sure we were aware of any fees arising from our decisions (extra boxes, paying by card, etc). Nothing shady or sketchy. I would give BWM 6 stars if I could. My movers were Joel and Felix. I strongly suggest that you ask for them, as they were extraordinarily professional -- efficient, organized, conscientious and business-like. Because of my real estate agent, this move had countless delays. This had nothing to do with BWM. Not once, did Joel or Felix complain or display frustration. I want to thank Bubble Wrap Movers for one of the best moving experiences ever. There're amazing and very professional. They arrived on time my appt was for 10am and they arrived by 9:45am , started wrapping everything very careful and started bringing everything down . I also have a black and white table which is very fancy and delicate . I was really worried about that but they wrapped it for me and it arrived to my new house without a scratch. BWM were fantastic! We were moving old, heavy school furniture across Queens and up narrow stairs on a sweltering day. The BWM team was indefatigable. The whole experience even started with their truck's rear axle breaking before we had even started moving. It took less than an hour for them to repair it themselves and start packing up the truck. After the incident, Jason contacted me and apologized for the horrible experience I had and offered to refund a portion of my moving cost when I used another company *if I removed my review.* I accepted the money and said I would amend my review as a result. He said he was not around the day of the move because he had a personal emergency and his friend was in charge. While I sympathize with his situation, someone should have given me a new number to contact or updated me with the situation. But I definitely do appreciate that he reached out and offered some sort of monetary compensation and that he took full responsibility, even if it was just to get the reviews off the site. He contacted me right after to make sure I removed them and when I just added an update he was annoyed about it and asked again if I could just remove it. While he did make an effort to correct the situation, I prefer just to be honest about my experience so people can make an informed decision. There was another gentlemen before me who also had the same issue of no one showing up and I didn't pay attention to it. I'd rather people knew that his experience wasn't just a one time mistake. It happened again with me and I'm not sure who else. Sooo, know what the risks are when hiring this company! Unfortunately I don't think I will risk it again because its too unprofessional of an operation for me. I especially didn't like the push for me to remove an honest review just because he paid me off. That money should have been offered just as compensation for my troubles, not as a bribe. I used Jason to move me from my apartment to my storage unit. I had never used a moving comany before and only heard horror stories. I must say this exeperience was nothing but amazing. Eventhough my time quote of the move was off, never did he complain, He just did the job and reorganized my storage unit for me so all my stuff would fit.He was very responsive with emails and texts up until my move day. Amazing movers who are enthusiastic, honest and careful with your things at a great price! It was also very easy and efficient to schedule a move over tex/phone and jason was very accomodating to changes in moving schedule due to last minute work matters. I used a groupon deal, and sometimes when you do that, you half expect mediocre service but jason and team were incredible. they got the entire move done in much less time than i expected. super efficient! If you want reliable service, DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS. Jason is the owner, and the phone and email contact on their website are his own personal phone and email. The business address on the website is a residential building in the middle of a public park. Beware that he will turn his phone off during the entire day of your move. I had no problem getting in contact with him before my moving date, but on the day of the move, he did not have his phone on for the ENTIRE day. Only after midnight, AFTER he had totally screwed up my move by completely FAILING TO SHOW UP, (yes, I waited a good 5-6 HOURS before I realized that I needed to find another means of moving, otherwise I would be homeless....) he sent me a curt email stating that *I* did not pick up the phone- when I had been calling him and his helpers ALL DAY LONG, even exchanging frantic text messages with them. Did I mention that this curt email was sent after midnight, a good 7 hours past the promised time? He hasn't apologized since, and today - 3 weeks after the incident I receive a text message saying he is sorry that I had a bad moving experience. No explanation of what happened. Well buddy, you know my email address, you can explain and apologize via email if you want. But all I am interested in, is that NOBODY USES THESE MOVERS, EVER AGAIN. Because in all sincerity what you had me go through was hell, and I don't want anybody to have to go through what you had me go through ever again. What these guys made me go through is unheard of. And it saddens me that they thought it was okay to do something like this to a trusting human being. These guys are evil. I hired bubble wrap movers to help with a 1 BR move uptown. Let me start by explaining that I almost never Yelp (this may be my 3rd or 4th time), but given the amazing job these guys did - I felt compelled to do so. HIRE THIS COMPANY. First off, I spent a good week on the phone getting quotes from countless other moving companies in town. These guys had the lowest rates by a significant amount. Second, even though I called less than two days before my scheduled move, they were able to provide four guys, a truck and insurance without any issues whatsoever. Third, the guys showed up on time and worked very quickly to get everything wrapped and moved. Jason, the owner, was supervising the team personally and everything went smoothly. Nothing was lost, nothing was broken and honestly, nothing was even scratched. The entire move cost me almost half of the next lowest quote I received. Lastly, the guys doing the job were just all around nice guys. In sum, these guys are honest, hardworking, careful and have the most competitive rates in town. I've never hired the same movers twice, except for Bubble Wrap Movers. Jason is extremely responsive via text/email, and is very accommodating of your schedule. He and Felix are incredibly efficient, pleasant to work with, and their rates are very fair. All of my items were transported with extreme care (no damage whatsoever). They also let me ride in their moving truck, which is seriously a plus when you're trying to deal with the hassle of moving logistics. Jason once offered, WHILE carrying my mattress, to hold my backpack for me because "I shouldn't have to hold anything." He takes genuine pride in his work and in his business, and it shows. Finally, these are cool, friendly guys. Riding in the truck was them was really fun; they're super easy to talk to and a lot of fun. It does makes a difference when you're doing one of the worst things on Earth (i.e., moving in NYC). The only thing to note is to talk to them first thing about the Yelp voucher before you book them--rates may differ depending on it. I found this out the first time I worked with them, but Jason worked very hard to get me the voucher refunded which I very much appreciated. I hope I don't move again for the foreseeable future, but if I had to, I'd absolutely hire them again. I'd wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone moving, including my good friends. For my needs this company was perfect. I only needed to move one bedroom full of items: 1 queen bed, dresser, table, shelves. Very minimal. These movers were able to offer me the best rate per hour for what I needed so I took a chance and it turned out fine. I moved from Hoboken to Manhattan and it took approximately 3 hours. It wasn't the easiest move with a 4 story walk up but BWM managed to make it as smooth as possible. All the company's operations seem to be done by the owner Jason so its very small, however if you are looking for an affordable option this would fit your needs. I always like to start off with the good rather than the bad, so here it is:our particular movers worked extremely hard. It was impressive to see two high school students handle the challenges of our move. However, I would beware when hiring Bubble Wrap. You need to make sure that Jason (the owner) and his A-team do the move for you. Otherwise, as was in our case, he will send you the B-team. Jason told me on the phone that he would send 3 movers (including himself, which wasn't the case). And that he did-except for the fact that two of them were part-time and in high school. The other "mover" sat in the truck for the first 4 hours. Again, the two boys worked very hard, but I would hesitate to consider them professional movers. I was given an estimate of 4 hours total, but it took that long just to load-in the apartment I was moving out of. I called Jason on the way to the new apartment, and reminded him that he promised me three movers and only two were actually working. He did work with me, though; he called the driver and told him to help the load-out into the new apartment. He also only charged me a 2-man rate for 3 movers. I appreciated his willingness to make things somewhat right. The total move took 6 hours, but could have been done much quicker if not for some obvious inefficiencies (the movers disassembled furniture with screw drivers instead of a power drill, they carried boxes one at a time as opposed to using a hand truck, etc ). While this is a critique of Bubble Wrap, it is also a warning in general about hourly moving companies. The flat-rate quotes from other companies may seem high, but if you receive service such as what I experienced, it actually ends up being close to the same price. All in all, the movers did a decent job considering their lack of experience, the owner was willing to right his wrongs with the customer, and everything made it from the old apartment to the new. read more

AMAZING - BEST SERVICE EVER - HIRE THEM NOW! This is my first-ever Yelp review, but the Bubble Wrap Movers did such a phenomenal job, I just had to post! I had originally scheduled my move for a Sunday evening pick up, store overnight and then drop of the next morning (which happened to be a holiday). I had to re-schedule my plans last minute to a pick up AND drop-off on Monday morning instead and Jason graciously accommodated my request no problem. Because they already had other jobs scheduled for that day, the 3 guys had to come a bit earlier in the day to make sure they had enough time to finish everything before their next job. Thus, a 7am pick-up it was. I had to sleep elsewhere Sunday night so when I casually arrived at my apartment to meet them at 6:40am, the 3 guys were already there and had been there since 6:00am, just to be safe as they didn't want to be late. Awesome! The 3 guys (including Jarrell and Felix) finished the whole job in 2.5 hours - and not only did I have A LOT of stuff, I was moving out of a 5th floor walk-up and into a 4th floor walk-up. That's a lot of stairs on a hot August morning! They were incredibly efficient, very careful with all of my things, and offered to help me put my AC unit in and assemble my bed. I was planning on hand-carrying all my works of art to the new apartment in an Uber, but I felt so comfortable with letting them handle all my things that they very carefully wrapped everything up so they were tightly packed and secure and they safely arrived in my new place. I really could not have asked for better service - and they were so nice, polite, courteous and patient. They prices they charge are UNBEATABLE! Originally I had contacted another moving company that is very reputable and no only did they tell me they could not move me out on Sunday (don't work Sundays) or in on Monday (don't work holidays), but they were going to charge me $1,650 - a 75% increase from what I paid the Bubble Wrap Movers. As a working professional with little time to dedicate to anything other than my career, the moving process has always been one of my top dreaded fears and the LAST thing I need or want to worry about. I have lived in four out of NYC's five boroughs, and have had an array of experiences moving from one apartment to the next, ranging from horrific to mediocre, at best. It was not until my most recent move from the south Bronx to Jamaica, Queens that I held this opinion. Feeling discouraged and defeated from my many moving experiences, I decided to go with Bubble Wrap Movers, a company that was new to my ears but of which I was recommended by a colleague. Needless to say I was nervous moving such a long distance, and was anxious that at least a few of my belongings would be damaged during the long ride. I spoke with Jason, the owner of Bubble Wrap, who worked easily around my schedule to accomodate the only convenient move-in date and time for that week. 10am on a Sunday morning was what we agreed upon, though from my past experiences I did not expect the movers to be on time. To my surprise and elateness I received a phone call from Jason himself at 9:45am telling me that he and his crew were downstairs waiting! Not only were my movers on time, they were early. I buzzed them in and was greeted with smiles from ear to ear. Literally, within less than 5 minutes half of my boxes and matress were OUT and on their way to the van. There was no need for me to express my concern regarding my valuables, as Jason and company took tremendous care and treated my things as if they were their own. Before I had time to think the entire half of my apartment was completely cleared, and when I went to the storage closet to get a broom to do some last minute cleaning I found that the crew was already ahead of me, sweeping and mopping my old floors. In all the moves I have experienced I have NEVER seen nor expected this from a moving company. The team went above and beyond. When we finally arrived at my new place the team made sure to inspect my belongings for even the most minor of damages (of course there were none to be found), before quickly and efficiently placing my things in the apartment. Jason and company made sure to ask me where I want my furniture, and gave special attention to fragile items to ensure they would not be overlooked. I have never before written a review for any company, so by taking the time to give my input on the performance of Bubble Wrap Movers I can safely say I feel more than strongly regarding the service I received. The only time I lifted a finger through the entire process was to shake the hands of each and every mover who helped me and, of course, Jason. Horrible experience. I told Jason we were a true 3 bed room experience and he sent 1 half full truck. He sent 1 trained mover and another guy who was in his first day. It took 12 hours to move out a 3 bedroom (no living or kitchen furniture). The prices was fair per hour but he milked us for 12 hours. We have moved twice and it has only taken 5 hours both times. Once they moved us into the new apartment they left everything in the living room and left. We expressed we weren't happy with the job to Jason and he said he was tired of dealing with us. They also broken a dresser and head frame in the move. The movers themselves were very respectful and nice however were not efficient read more

Felix and Joelle were amazing- they worked incredibly fast (they unloaded everything into my new apartment in 35 minutes) and did not break anything. They were both pleasant and easy to work with. Although they came much later than expected, it sounded like it wasn't their fault, since the previous job ran longer than expected.
