a box of sushi rolls with a dipping sauce

Always looking for a new sushi place, and Bubble Maki didn't disappoint. The order was well packed and nicely presented, no spills on the bubble tea either . The crunchy avocado had a good crunch, and I stole a few california rolls from my partner and they were also really good. Generous portions on each. For me, the dipping sauces are where it's at. A nice twist on the standard sushi experience! Sesame sauce was a little subtle for my taste, but sohyu was really flavorful and avocado fusion was smooth and tart -- really nice. I'd like the option to include standard wasabi and ginger. I would also totally do a "sauce flight" so I could try a bunch at once.

New Sushi and Bubble Tea restaurant in Chicago. I couldn't decide what sauce to get so I tried 3. These sauces are absolutely amazing and the rolls come with 10 pieces. I can't wait to try the other saucesand the Bubble Teas.

I love the idea of this place!! They have a huge sauce selection which is something I have never seen before! The speciality rolls all come with a different sauce. The tofu sushi was amazing, it had kimchi in it! Overall the sushi was pretty good, nothing special.

Such a bizarre spot. Cheap and honestly not great quality. The Salmon is cooked which was a disappointment and the jalapeño was pickled also a weird choice. 2/10 recommend, I would only from here if I was desperate but probably not even then.

    Boba tea!

I ordered a Bubble Maki Fruit Tea / Jasmine Green Tea which was deliciously sweet and everything I wanted in a tea. The Crunchy Wasabi Salmon roll is where it's at. No other sushi place includes this much salmon per roll. These are huge salmon pieces and well worth the price! Plus the wasabi sauce is just the right amount of spicy and if you get the Kung Pao Sauce on the side it gets even spicier! Oh and they don't skimp on the mango on the shrimp roll either. Definitely a change of pace from the usual sushi rolls, and well worth it!

This review is going to be based on my experience with ordering delivery. I would have give this place 5 stars but I felt like I didn't get to experience my expectations. I ordered two rolls one crunchy avocado tuna and one mango shrimp roll. The tuna roll was delicious, you can taste the freshness in the ingredients. Second roll was the disappointment. They completely forgot the mango and toppings and sent me the shrimp rolls. I was really looking forward to that one especially. Also I know they have special sauces to try, but they only gave 2 soy sauce packets for this entire order. Overall I wish I got what I ordered and sometimes mistakes happen. I ordered 2 mango rolls so I'm not sure they would forget twice. I hope one day to go back and try some of their other items.

This was very bad. Since targeted ads kept popping up, I was really looking forward to it. The crunchy avocado tuna maki did not have avocado inside and came with a side of snot looking avocado sauce. However, the worst part was the whole thing tasted sour. Maybe it was because the pickled carrot was way too soggy or they had to cover the expired fish with vinegar. Additionally, not mad about these but, the maki roll were cut in uneven sizes and the tea was below average. On the positive note, I really appreciate their sustainable straws and sushi packaging.

Bubble Maki is new to me, but I'm glad I tried it. The dipping sauces were a new concept, but I loved them. Got three rolls for lunch and I especially liked the Ginger Tuna Roll and the Mango Shrimp Roll. Tasted very fresh. Definitely coming back for the ginger tuna roll and want to try some of the Boba next time

Great packaging and amazing service! The sushi was prepared a lot faster than other places, and the quality did not miss either! The rolls are a great size for a whole meal and the aioli is really something special. The drinks make a perfect little date. Shoutout to Robert!! He's the best!!!

Some of the best boba I've ever had! Will definitely get again next time I'm in the area.read more

After dining in the area on a warm day full of walking, I decided boba would be a nice way to cool…read moredown. Since I recognized the TBaar name, I figured it would be the safest option for reliable, quality boba. I visited on a Friday afternoon and the shop was surprisingly empty, with the three workers apparently excited to have someone walk in the shop. The inside area is small and there is no seating available for those wanting to casually hangout while enjoying their drinks. The area didn't seem to be the safest considering the activity witnessed outside, so it is probably best to not offer seating. Since it was warm, I ordered a large matcha smoothie (75% sugar level) with tapioca along with a large piña colada smoothie (75% sugar level). I inquired about the "white pearl" on the menu thinking it was white tapioca but it was actually agar jelly so I opted out of that; the male worker seemed annoyed when I asked and responded minimally. The drinks were ready in about five minutes. The matcha smoothie did not have a deep green color I was expecting, usually indicating the drink was diluted or watered down, and I was correct. I was aware that TBaar did not specialize in matcha, but I would've expected more matcha flavor instead of mostly tasting sugar or milk/non-dairy creamer; the 75% sugar level chosen should not affect the amount of matcha used since matcha powder should not have sugar filler. The tapioca was a little too soft for my liking and it would've been nice to have a little more in the large cup. The piña colada smoothie tasted a little better but definitely tasted like it was flavored with artificial syrup. For the River North area, TBaar is a decent option for boba. However, for better quality boba I would consider traveling outside the area, especially if a place that offers safe casual seating is preferred.

Literally the cutest café. This was my favorite breakfast spot while visiting Chicago…read more The second I walked in, I was obsessed. The green and white color palette immediately reminded me of Ralph's Coffee. It felt classic and polished but still charming. Everyone working there had a smile on their face, and the warmth felt so genuine and comforting, especially first thing in the morning. They had such a huge selection of pastries and cakes that it was honestly hard to choose. I ended up getting the cake shaped like a cherry because it looked so interesting. It was a black cherry cake and I paired it with a cappuccino. It was the perfect combination. The cake was beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. We also ordered the breakfast burrito, which came with a small side salad. It was fine, but not the standout for me. If I came back, which I would, I would probably stick to the pastries and coffee and try more of their baked goods instead. Service was amazing. The ambience was adorable. I loved how all the silverware, plating, and dinnerware matched that perfect green tone. Every detail felt intentional. It was just perfect.

The food was really excellent, as was the service. But it was ridiculously priced. The reuben sandwich was $28. It was a great sandwich, very lean, but you could get a sandwich as good for half the cost elsewhere. They only have a couple of kid's items, but my friend requested buttered noodles for her kid rather than the cheesy noodles. I got the hibiscus drink and lavender lemonade, both non-alcoholic, and they were very good. My little one especially liked the hibiscus. And we ordered the appetizer of whipped ricotta and honey; my daughter liked this more than anything else we ordered. We didn't have dessert at the restaurant, but ordered to go. The pot of gold was really good. There were little "gold nuggets" on it and that was my daughter's favorite part; good thing since I didn't realize it had a layer with Bailey's in it. It was very rich, and the cauldron was really thick chocolate (and actually was a struggle to get into, a bit!). The restaurant is small but it didn't feel crowded. We never felt rushed or unwelcome, and we were there for a couple hours (longer than I realized; it took an unusually long time to make two reuben sandwiches). Their pastries are really nice but somewhat expensive, like the rest of the menu. It was a nice, sophisticated experience.
