Was pretty impressed with this place. We sat in the bar section with a group of friends. We order drinks from bar. Mixed drinks and beers. The mixed drinks were great. (Can't remember the name but had raspberries in it) Beers were good too. We all order appetizers queso dip, loaded fries, and fried pickles. All the apps. were good the fried pickles were just okay. Ok, so let me tell you about their veggie burger. It is next level amazing, made in house, with a clean, savoury taste that is unmatched in the local area. Additionally, their pizza is crazy good. My server Megan was all smiles and very helpful navigating the menu. I have already been there twice. First time they overcooked my food twice so I just said I will keep it like it is. They were so slow and confused. We had a tall blonde waitress that was really good. I decided to give them another try a few days ago. It was late so servers were goofing off and eating already. No biggie but we asked for a channel changed to watch the game. This is a new business in Chesapeake, VA. IT OPEN TODAY, July 1, 2019, and we decided to visit them and try out their service. The initial experience was pleasant, we were greeted with great jubilance and a welcoming attitude by host, servers and management. Because we had just had lunch with family at another location and upon dropping them off at the airport, some time had passed and we were not ready for dinner, however we decided to stop for desert. My wife and I both, ordered a 'Turtle Mud Pie' and the bill came to $20.63. I paid with cash, $25.00 even and told the server, who asked in a deceptive way if "this is ok"? But then, she suddenly asked "do you want change"? It seemed strange, her actions so I said, "yes, you can take $3, and bring me the balance please". She then replied, "you want your change, and I replied again, yes, you can take $3 and bring me the balance." She left with the $25 dollars, and several minutes later, a suspicious amount of time had passed, (waiting for us to leave) she passed our table, proceeded to the table next to us, stayed there for some time, turned back to pass us again and my wife asked, "you need to bring our change, and I said, we are ready to leave, so please bring our change", she replied, "ok, but can I put that order in from their table first"? I responded, yes. She then took several minutes again, returned and walked right passed our table again. When she passed our table again, I stopped her and expressed my disappointment and demanded to see her manager. When the manager (I don't believe he was although he said he was after I asked him), came, I explained what happen and he replied he would talk to her and that this was her first day. He never offered an apology nor offered to give us a voucher for a free desert or meal, nor to pay for our current desert. Shortly after, she returned and had a single dollar bill and no change. I questioned this and explained that it's not the dollar nor the change but the principle of this matter. And told her I want my change too and to please go get it. She made an excuse about having to go through the bar and took a unusually long time to return, shorting my change by a few pennies. I couldn't believe that she was insistent on stealing a dollar and some change, but that is exactly what took place. For our first impressions of this business, it really set a bad taste with my wife and I, to be subjected to such pettiness. They should have vetted their newly hired servers more carefully. I believe she has been working several patrons and possibly those who are consuming alcohol may miss such a misconduct and has been taken advantage of! read more

If I'm going to pay $18.99 for a 12oz ribeye, please don't insult my intelligence and serve me a plain old sirloin steak. Yes, that's right folks, it's a sirloin! How would I know? I was there with a butcher and another friend who used to manage a grocery store and trained extensively on meat cuts. Never mind that I LOVE a good ribeye steak and the texture, and look of the cut was clearly NOT a ribeye. Now granted, it did have a nice flavor and perfect grill marks but please Bubba's 33, be honest. Second issue was the hoard of staff occupying the 3 ladies room stalls while they changed their clothes. All three stalls. Maybe 33 could have a set aside changing area? Always nice to wait to use the restroom for the staff. Lastly, the staff hanging at the table behind us. No break room for your staff eh? Swanky! The owner should look at the aforementioned as a customer, if that's possible. If this was your 1st and only experience here, would you ever return considering how many options are nearby....???? Sitting by the open windows that look like garages and seeing the stools that look like Ma and Pa's backside was a wonder. There were 6 of us that evening and some had been there before. We lucked up and arrived on the 9.99 pizza deal night in which you can add a salad for 1.99...killer deal except the 3 pizzas were sloppily executed and lacking toppings ( I would rather pay regular price and have the lies arrive as they did on a previous visit) The Italian sausage on the 3 meat one tasted just like the ground beef on the nacho mamas and it was bland. There was no chicken on the nacho mama as described. We had 2 of the 18 wings how unfortunate because they were bubble gummy when they arrived and seemed like they were not coated in any sauce. The burgers seem to be frozen lackluster patties although there was some magic sprinkled on top that helped but we could have purchased those at BJ and had a cookout. The mozzarella app was good as was the shotgun shrimp. The server Alex seemed nervous which cane through his service. We enjoyed each other's company but the experience wasnt sufficient. Sorry I opened my big mouth and suggested this place, guess we should have went a roast the road to Recovery and tried them out. It sucked because everything was superb before. I really like going to this restaurant, the managers are always present and checking on their customers. Although, last night I went with my boyfriend and our two friends. We had a waitress, Victoria, she didn't seem to want to be there at all. She seemed very annoyed and just over being there. My whole table noticed her demeanor and her nonchalant attitude. I understand that it was probably a long day, but when you work in food and have to present yourself to customers. You have to at least be happy to be serving whoever. At least fake it till you make it. That and she gave us our friends bill and gave them ours and we almost paid for their meal. I think long story short, some feedback was needed because, I'm sure my group wasn't the only ones who noticed how she wasn't in the best mood. read more

I was not impressed with them. I got a pizza from. I got what I thought would be a pretty easy order. Half veggie half margarita. My pizza arrived with items missing. I also had requested my pizza be cut into multiples which I was told could be done. After waiting 30 mins for my pizza. It arrived. Not really hot, and the manager comes out and says. Yeah, I know we told you we would cut it up in more slices, but we really dont have time to do customize order. We dont want to start a trend of giving people what they want. Myself and her employee looked her. The employee then tries to save her and say (some other employees name) said we could do it. Then the manager said yeah. We are not. I open the box and I then I said where are my other veggies and basil.... then the employee goes oh o can go get the toppings and then you can place it on there. I said no thank you. Get to my car to actually try the pizza and it was lackluster and not all that great. I'll only go back if friends want to attend. We went here at Sunday around 1pm thinking since they are only recently opened, it would still be relatively dead. Wrong! This place is massive but we still had to wait (a short) 5 minutes for our 2-top table. Families, sports fans and a mix of the two abounded. The open garage side was PACKED. We were seated on the far left, opposite side and were promptly tended to by our waiter. He gave us a nice rundown of what their specialties are (burgers and pizzas) along with appetizer recommendations. Well we came craving burgers so we decided that despite their abundant menu we were sticking to what we came for. I ordered the Spicy Habanero Burger (medium well) with Fire Fries. My man ordered the Bacon Guacamole Burger but requested the black bean burger instead of beef - which they happily obliged. He decided on regular fries as his side. Our entrees came in a reasonable amount of time and they kept us refilled on beers and drinks in the meantime. I must say these were THE best burgers we've had anywhere and they were perfectly cooked as well. There were no weird bits of gristle in my beef burger and they were incredibly juicy. I will say my combo of habanero burger with fire fries was a bit too much for me. What was I thinking?!? Ha! My guy kindly swapped his fries for mine after seeing me sweat and that satisfied both of our cravings for the spicy stuff. The ONLY issue we had is that it was quite loud. The full capacity alone makes for a loud restaurant when full but add football and then music that is upped an extra notch. It was too loud to hear each other at points with Huey Lewis and the News blaring over it all. Still - we certainly plan on going back sometime very soon - probably earlier on a Sunday to scoop up some seats on the open garage side for some football. Until then... :) Side note: The same guy that started Texas Roadhouse started Bubbas 33. I'm guessing this is why their burgers are so good. Plus they make everything fresh daily which is why they aren't open until 4 on weekdays. read more

I will start the review by saying we went right in the middle of a nasty storm. The power went out twice (no big deal) but that put them behind serving food. We were a party of 7 and they had nothing available in the dining room. Against our better judgement, we agreed to the bar area. Pros: 1. The waitress was awesome and super attentive. She was honest and up front with us. She let us know they weren't serving food nearly as quick due to the sudden power outages so to expect longer wait times than usual. 2. The appetizers were delicious. We had the layered cheese fries, fried pickles and onion rings. Highly recommend all 3. 3. The beer was ice cold and served in frosted mugs. 4. The food was definitely great. We had the guacamole burger, classic cheese burger, buffalo chicken sandwich, fish and chips and chicken sandwich. My parents raved about the sweet potato Fries and said they were the best around. Would recommend any of the above. Cons: 1. They were out of regular ground chuck (but known for their burgers. Mhm). They offered the bacon based beef however, some people at our table don't eat bacon so had to go another route. Unfortunately, I can't give a good review on all the classic burger. 2. Next, the waitress came back to say they were also out of broccoli. No big deal, we substituted for a salad. 3. It is EXTREMELY loud. We found ourselves constantly yelling over the music. Even the waitress was yelling to take our orders. The restaurant area seemed a little less loud but I definitely would not sit in the bar area again and definitely not during a sports game. 4. We were disappointed they had limited seating for parties in the dining room. 5. My husband ordered fire fries but they brought them out regular. The waitress brought us the seasoning on the side but I'm not convinced we got the true flavor of the fries. Will have to try again to make a fair review. Overall, it wasn't the worst experience and we will definitely return again to leave a more accurate review of the place. If I could leave a 3.5 I would for the waitress alone. read more

We called to place our order over the phone and was told it would be ready in about 15-30 mins we pulled into the restaurant about 15 mins later someone came out and asked for the name of the order she came back out with the check we paid and she went back in. We didn't see anyone for another 15 mins then another waitress came out and asked for our name again. 10 mins later we finally got our food but they forgot our drinks and we did not receive any utensils or napkins. Awful service I will never in my life return first time ever going to Bubba's 33 and the only thing I wonted was my money back

This time was horrible. Really disappointed in the service, food quality and just general experience. Took forever to get waited on. Finally get the drink order and then she disappeared. Almost 20 mins later she took our food order. His sandwich came out but apparently they messed mine up. Finally comes out and tater tots are cold. Had to flag down another server to get the manager. She came. I explained the issue. She finally spoke up and said so you just want us to remake the whole thing. Ummmm yeah because now it's all cold. In the meantime he is done with his meal and I still don't have mine. Finally comes out, tots still cold. Server comes by and asked how it was. Not ok but at this point I'm eating it. Ate the sandwich, cold tots still on the plate. Waitress brings check. "Manager took off the chicken" opened it up and no change had been made on the bill. Called her back over. Well she took off the second one but because you ate that one you have to pay for it. Ummmmm no. My order was messed up twice. I didn't order three chicken sandwiches. It was messed up twice. I honestly can't say we will be back soon. It's a little bit out of our way for the lackluster service and quality we got today. read more

I usually judge a place based on its boneless and traditional chicken and unfortunately I have to say that the chicken here was greasy and soggy with oil dripping from the chicken with the core being undercooked and pink. read more
