We ate dinner at BTWN in the W Hotel one night and went specifically for their burger special. They had four burger options to choose from: beef, fried chicken, fish, or veggie, which was a fun and easy lineup.
We ordered the fried chicken and the beef burger. Unfortunately, my chicken burger was a bit of a letdown--the chicken patty was noticeably smaller than the bun, which made it feel skimpy and not as satisfying as it should have been. My husband's beef burger looked much better, and honestly, I wish I'd gone with that instead.
Service was hospitable, but the pacing was slow, and it seemed like they were understaffed, even though we went early and the restaurant wasn't busy. That said, the woman who served us was really nice and polite, so it wasn't a service attitude issue--more of an operational one.
The ambiance is definitely a highlight: sophisticated, trendy, and very "W" with rich jewel tones and a big, stylish space.
Overall, it's a great-looking place with potential, but the food execution (at least on the chicken burger) didn't quite match the vibe. read more
