I noticed one other person having the buffet. Just over $16 for lunch buffet. Next time I'll order off the menu. I did really like their fried portobello mushrooms last time I was there.

I got the wings with sweet Thai chili. Perfect cook, slight crunch on the skin, juicy on the inside. Nicely sauced. Ranch dressing was good too. BUT almost $2 per wing, for normal size wings, is a bit much, Santa Claus, prices??? The pulled pork sandwich was the star, and honestly it a very good value. I got it with the smokey sauce. Love the normal bun, not toasted, it gets soggy from pork and pickle juices, it slowly destroys itself as you eat. I thought the finely chopped and pulled pork was wonderful. I thought the smokey bbq sauce was sweet with smoke, onion, and a little spicy note. Not to much sauce on top, I do like to sauce my own sandwich anyway. I have learned to get a take out individual sauce just in case, and that was the right decision. Staff was nice, my order was ready on time. Decor is grinchy, you know the Grinch has to be in town somewhere. Maybe the should switch to drum sticks or thighs, for a better value, because the know how to cook wings, the price is just a couple of bucks to high for 5 wings.

The shop footprint is massive! So to set expectations, the ice cream shop is new and just getting started. So the space is far larger than what is currently needed for the ice cream counter. The business is run by a mom and daughter and they plan on adding a full coffee bar and soda fountain with video and arcade games in the back. For now it's just ice cream and they had about 2 dozen flavors - all the usual suspects like salted caramel, mint chocolate chip, java, Rocky Road, etc. Prices are very reasonable - 1 scoop is $3.95 with each additional scoop costing an incremental $2. With so many gourmet ice cream shops in Portland that sell one scoop for $6.95, this felt like a bargain! On a hot summer day, my waffle cone with a scoop of salted caramel and a scoop of java was just the refreshing treat I didn't know I needed! Oh, and service was super friendly, offering tastes and serving with a smile! Small town charm as it should be. Clearly the owners intend for this to be a warm and welcoming place for friends and families to gather with affordable offerings and fun activities. Once their plan materializes, I hope it will become a destination spot and not feel like a take out ice cream shop in a massive space. For now four stars, but I will definitely go back and re-evaluate when the coffee bar opens.

The ice cream is locally made so that means lots of seasonal flavors that change depending on what fruit is ripe. Andes Candy is their version of chocolate chip mint and it is soooo good! So is the salted caramel. For a more Oregon experience, try the strawberry, marionberry or huckleberry. Whatever you choose, it will be delicious! They have a variety of cone choices, bowls and Sundaes. Large shaded deck out front, perfect on a summer day. Also seating inside. Located on Baseline, the street that goes through the center of the 2 block downtown part of Parkdale, you can't miss it. Right next door is Apple Valley BBQ and across the street is Solera Brewery for the perfect trifecta when in this area. Tip: the best view of Mt. Hood is behind Solera Brewery; get your cone and walk along the side of Solera to the back for the money shot.

You can also contact Beverly, the owner, who will do special orders and even provide treats for events like weddings, celebratory parties, special dinners, anything! Over the years I have tried many items and loved them all. There are always unique flavors built into everyday pastries which take B's Sweets to the next level. For example, the maple scones have figs incorporated giving them both texture and contrast. The doughnuts are sometimes flavored with lavender, sometimes hibiscus, sometimes both, giving them a scent and flavor that elevates the ordinary doughnut to something truly special. Even though I am not gluten free, I often buy the GF shortbread cookies beautify decorated with an edible pansy flower. Trust me, you need to buy this for your next brunch or gathering. Not only do they add an artistic flair to your table, they are scrumptious! And all of your friends can enjoy them. The mini tarts - in various flavors depending on what's in season - are also decorated with pansy's and dried fruit. Just gorgeous ! The lemon tart is my favorite but recently bought the blood orange and everyone loved it. Sometimes there are purple tarts - lavendar - and while the color may throw you off, go for it! So good. There are various types of stuffed croissants, brownies, artisan chocolate bon bins and caramels, cookies, focaccia, hand pies, cinnamon rolls, lavender tea cookies and more! Really hard to make decisions. Luckily I'm there weekly so I get to try most everything. The lavender shortbread squares with half dipped in dark chocolate, sprinkled with lavender, are my favorite. Only available in the cooler months as chocolate melts in the heat, I always buy a box of 6 for $10. They also make a great little hostess or just because gift for a friend. You can also find these at the gift store at Hood River Lavender farm for a treat any day of the week. The owner and baker, Beverly, is the best! So kind, friendly and enthusiastic about her baked goods and the customers genuine enjoyment. Call her for special orders. She also provides dessert spreads for events. Your guests will love them!!
