On 8/26/22 I signed a contract with Miele Electric to install a stand by generator at my home. A…read moreweek after installation began I received a stop work order from my towns building inspector. Miele Electric failed to obtain a permit. That was 3 months ago. Since that time I've gone back & forth with Mr. Miele. Mr. Miele has yet to claim any responsibility for his failure to obtain proper permitting. I have a partially installed generator in an illegal, unsafe location in front of a basement window. During our negotiation Mr. Miele insisted the location was safe & acceptable as long as the window was sealed with plexiglass & caulked. He claimed to have installed many generators using this method. I live in an HOA, My approval letter clearly states the location must comply with local town ordinances. The town will not approve the location, had Mr. Miele waited for the permit process to play out he would have known that, now instead of taking responsibility for his mistake Mr. Miele is appealing to the state of Connecticut claiming state authority supersedes local authority. I've been informed, by Mr. Miele that if the state approves the location the generator stays where he installed it. I've contacted the generator manufacturer & finance company documenting Mr. Miele's deception, for this Mr. Miele has called me a bully. The generator manufacturer recommended another electrical contractor to correct Mr. Miele's mistakes. Upon inspection, the new company informed me that the generator can not go in front of a window, the location violates the manufacturers recommendation. This entire process has been a farce, I've had to hire a new electrical contractor to re-locate the generator to a safe, approved location & a carpenter to repair the damage left behind from the initial rogue installation. The entire mess could have been avoided had Mr. Miele simply followed the rules & obtained the required permits or simply took responsibility for his mistake & moved the generator.

We called about 5 times requesting to speak to someone and Cannondale just sent us a contract in the mail without ever returning our call. During the crazy storm in August of 2020, many people in our town couldn't reach Cannondale to fix their generators. We decided on A&J because of how communicative they were - they worked around the clock during that storm to help their customers. Since then, we've had nothing but positive experiences with A&J. Our generator is getting up there in age, so we had to have several service calls this year. We were able to immediately reach someone via phone and email. Each time they sent someone over quickly. One time, our generator stopped working overnight during a power outage. We called them at 5am and they had someone at our house by 7am. Soon after, they were able to replace the part and give our generator a bit more time as we navigate the process of obtaining a new generator.
