I called twice, including the day of asking if I needed to go out and buy a plug. They said no both times. They guys came over with no equipment despite me emailing a direct picture of what was needed, and unwilling to drive 3 minutes to lowes to get it. We got charged and they left. After an email complaint they offered to send them back to change a plug without another $250 fee. Since we planned on having them actually do the job, while they were out here we asked for another small job or two (including simply changing an outside floodlight). Here comes more diagnostic fees for their "expertise"... Overall there are more experienced places out there by far, and many that will charge far far less. If you are in a pinch and need to reach someone, "no job is too small" here....

Long story short: my new slide-in electric range could not be installed by the appliance delivery folks because my old drop-in stove had been hard-wired and, according to the delivery folks, such hard-wiring is now a building code violation. A quick search on the Internet did not uncover any plumbers who also advertised themselves to be electricians. The family of a friend of mine from church is in the electrical business, so I called them. They did not answer their phone and I did not receive any recording to leave a message. An Internet search of electricians in the Greater Hartford area provided a slew of results. Bill, at Advanced Concepts Electrical, only had one review on Yelp (but it was a good one). I took a chance and called Bill's phone number. He actually answered the phone and said he was shopping at The Home Depot for suppies he needed for tomorrow's job. He had planned to go home after getting his supplies, but said that he could stop by TODAY (!) to take a look at my electrical problem. He showed up at my house within the time frame he mentioned during our phone conversation. He said he could fix my problem (and proceeded to start doing so within 10 minutes of arriving at my house). My problem wasn't a big one and I just happened to call him at the right time (and I happen to live not far from The Home Depot where he was shopping). When we attempted to turn on our air conditioner it didn't work. Checking the breaker box I could…read morenot see a problem. I also noticed that the TV in the same room shut off as well. So it appeared we had an obvious electrical issue. I called Lonnie and he arrive within an hour. He checked the breaker box and stated that the issue was not with the breaker box. He checked the room where the TV and air conditioner were located and examined the 2 outlets that were not working. Lonnie then found that the outlet that caused the problem was in fact working, but was not sending current downline to the outlets not working. He fixed the problem by replacing the faulty outlet. Within a few hours from my call to Lonnie resolved the problem and charged a reasonable amount. By the way it was extremely hot and humid, but that did not stop him from resolving the issue.
