When we attempted to turn on our air conditioner it didn't work. Checking the breaker box I could not see a problem. I also noticed that the TV in the same room shut off as well. So it appeared we had an obvious electrical issue. I called Lonnie and he arrive within an hour. He checked the breaker box and stated that the issue was not with the breaker box. He checked the room where the TV and air conditioner were located and examined the 2 outlets that were not working. Lonnie then found that the outlet that caused the problem was in fact working, but was not sending current downline to the outlets not working. He fixed the problem by replacing the faulty outlet. Within a few hours from my call to Lonnie resolved the problem and charged a reasonable amount. By the way it was extremely hot and humid, but that did not stop him from resolving the issue. Excellent work! Lonnie removed a flush mount ceiling light and installed a new "farmhouse" vibe light. The job was a bit more difficult, due to 1952 wiring, and he still honored the quote he gave us. Person of his word. 8 foot ceilings are easy-peasy for this very tall electrician. He is very personable and he has a great heart. I have called Lonnie twice to check out my electrical issues. First time he came out promptly and reattached the outside meter to the house as the wind might have made made it come apart from the house. He came twice in one day and finished the job by 10:00 p.m. I paid him on the spot and the price was reasonable especially for two trips within several hours and having Eversource come and unlock the meter. Second time, I called Lonnie and he gave me advice over the phone. No charge as all I needed to do was reset my circuit breakers....the man is GREAT! I recommend him highly.... Lonnie did a great job on an electrical problem at my house. A complex six-bulb bathroom light fixture had shorted out and I could not reset the circuit breaker, so I had no power in two rooms at my house. Lonnie quickly diagnosed the problem, disassembled the unit, and replaced two of the six sockets, so that I did not have to buy an expensive new fixture. I'll assume his work is good and give him the benefit of the doubt so he can get two stars instead of one. Didn't even use him because of his immediate attitude on the phone. He's one of those comically officious contractors that'll talk down to you and act annoyed that you even bothered to call him. He started badgering me with all sorts of questions about inspections and permitting, after which I had had enough and decided to hang up. There are plenty of handymen and electricians in this town who are very friendly, helpful, and won't give you a hassle about truly simply electrical jobs. (Seriously, we just needed some outlets installed here...) Don't waste time with this inflated ego. read more

I had an emergency electrical problem on a Sunday. A circuit breaker was overheating and corroding, causing my well pump to not work, so I had no water in the house. This was on a Sunday and Lonnie took the time to come out and not only fix the problem, but walk me through what was happening and why. He is very knowledgeable. I felt like the price was a little high for the service he provided, but I also realize that I had an emergency on a Sunday, so any electrician would have asked for more than their usual price. read more

We needed to install a chandelier. Normally would have done it myself but there was an issue with the junction box. I called Lonnie and he was very responsive. He asked me to send him a photo of the chandelier so he could bring what he needed. He came out and did an excellent job. He was personable, thorough, clean (wore shoe covers whenever he came inside), and meticulous. He wasn't satisfied until he got it right. His price was very reasonable too. After seeing such rave reviews, I confidently called Lonnie to do two small jobs at my house. He gave me a quote of $275 which seemed reasonable enough. I was fully prepared to pay this price had the work properly aligned with the price tag. The first job was an outlet that was protruding out of the wall and had stopped working. He fixed this quickly by screwing it back in and doing a bit of testing. The next job was a light in my basement that wasn't working. Much to my embarrassment, Lonnie asked me to give him a lightbulb just to check, so I got him one and sure enough, that was the only issue. It had been flickering and I was sure my husband had said he already tried a new bulb so I felt dumb of course. However, after supplying my own lightbulb and cleaning out the light fixture myself at Lonnie's request, his visit was over in under 20 mins. He still charged me the full $275 much to my dismay. I felt like this was a classic example of taking advantage of a young woman who he clearly assumed wouldn't know better. When I questioned him about the charge for replacing a lightbulb, he was clearly thrown off and awkwardly bumbled to give an excuse why it was so expensive because he wasn't anticipating that I would know how blatantly I was ripped off. I prefer to work with honest and fair business people so I thought it appropriate to share my experience so others can avoid a similar trap. read more
