I Love Bryson's Food store! Yes, there are items I'll trudge 'off the mountain' to get, but for 95% of the things I buy, they're the BEST choice. The meats are better and the produce is always fresh. The deli is great for a quick breakfast, lunch and dinner. The wine selection is one of the best anywhere. I've been to Ingles in Cashiers and Franklin, and the prices are very comparable- some things are even LESS expensive at Bryson's. It's just not worth the 30-40 minutes of driving time to save twenty-five cents on an item. It's like driving 15-30 minutes away to save 5-10 cents a gallon on gas, and then have to drive back. Great grocery store in Highlands NC. It has everything you would need, and even a seafood market and deli. The deli offers freshly prepared meals for you to take home. The wine section is extensive and even has a wine representative to assist you with your selection. Great idea!!! I have purchased some of the best St. Louis ribs you can find in Highlands to BBQ on the grill. I have WOWED my quest on several occasions with these ribs!!In all, their meat selection is top of the line. It's a small but well stocked grocery with fresh vegetables as well. We love Bryson's Food Store in Highlands. It seems that we go in there a lot now that we have moved full time to the area. Matt runs the wine store and has a terrific selection. He recommended DAOU Cabernet and a PESSIMIST Red Blend and they both are terrific and went well with the ribs that we cooked on the grill. The meat manager even opened a pre packaged pack of chicken to sell us the exact number of pieces that we needed -- now that is SERVICE!!! read more

Bryson's has most of what might be needed for your pantry in Highlands. It's the town's only basic grocery. Prices seem mildly elevated throughout. The meat and seafood departments are very basic. Some premium items like crab are often frozen. They have a decent wine selection with a knowledgeable staff member on hand to make recommendations for your meal. read more

Great deli section for take-out meals, great selection of groceries for anything you need, reasonably priced, very friendly staff, and a wonderful butcher shop selection of meats. i have shopped there several tims since moving here in october. its ridiculous overpriced in comparison to ingles. in some cases its twice the cost of certain items. thereis no reward card to reduce the price of anything upon check out. its a family run business and only true grocery store in highlands area. as a result they capitalize on this wherever they can!! charging outrageous pricing on everything. its sad that they take advantage of the market like they do. ingles does not do this . also, i bought milk there. got it home and expiration date was out well over two weeks and yet it was spoiled milk. next time i went in there. i told them. and the check out girl said it has happened more than once. in fact alot!! also i noticed some things are already expired and still on the shelves as well. some of us work till 6-6;30 at night and they close during winter way way too early resulting in me being almost unable to pick up anything after i get off work!! they shoulod stay open till at least 7 pm !!! the bread is way overpriced at the deli as well!! to talk specifics and their meat selection and fish selection is really sad in comparison with ingles!! additionally. the guy working in the wine area approached me and told me to buy a particular pinot noir that was on sale a few dollars! i took him upon his recommendationnlooking for a decent pinot noir to drink with friends. upon trying to uncork it. well... first time in my life i lost the cork into the bottle as it was so dry it just broke in half. so now i am left with a $30 expense to myself . no wonder it was on sale. as a result i wont buy anymore wines there ever!! read more
