Don't come like 3 hours before they close or you will be talked to extremely rudely. Employee named Lilley told us they were only accepting cash while walking past us to take trash out, but then we watched someone pay with a card. As she was walking back into the building she was talking bad about earlier customers. We stayed in line hoping they would still serve us and everyone in front of us paid with card until it got to our turn and we were told cash only because we were a larger group because they wanted us to go away. Then, we preceded to pay in cash and she wrote nothing we ordered down and asked 7 times what we ordered. When she would give it to us she would roll her eyes and actually tossed the one cup of ice cream down that it tipped over. Supervisor watched this happen and said absolutely nothing. We booked the Bruster's Ice Cream truck in 2021 for a family reunion. Due to an outbreak of covid, we had to cancel but was assured that the $250 deposit would be available when we chose to reschedule. We rescheduled our event for July 29, 2023. I called Glenn Pilarski on June 1 (two months advance notice) to rebook... He did not answer my call for one week. He then told me he would check the date and get back to me.... Another week later he said he had two other events scheduled for that day but was "working" on it. I contacted him again on June 13 and then again on June 21.. I asked if instead of the truck we could get some ice cream cakes or just ice cream. He said no. But that he was still "working" on the July 29 date. I want to start with the fact that busters was a family tradition for my family growing up and was until lately. So everyone knows that things have gotten more expensive and the prices at busters have gone up according but here is the problem. Now there is no real kids cone and the double two tiny little marbles of ice cream. They are getting more and more stingy with the portions. You can't go wrong at Brusters. Anything you order is going to be delicious. If you haven't been before, my only advice is to order a size smaller than you want. They are incredibly generous with their portions. Be sure to ask them what toppings they have. Those aren't listed on the outside! Used to be the go to for our family but it has gone SO down hill. The portion sizes are a joke now. A single scoop is more like a sample size. They seem to have cut portions starting in 2020 and I don't know if management is trying to save a buck, but the corner cutting is being noticed. The ice cream Is also half melted as soon as you get it. It's not a single occurrence either. These problems are every time we visit now. We usually have a good experience at Brusters in Bridgewater, but things seem to have changed since we were last there. The order was for two small (two scoop) waffle cones, but the scoops were about half the size of a normal scoop. I pointed the issue out to the person at the counter and was told that this was the size you're really supposed to get...that they just usually over-scoop. To be fair, she offered to re-scoop the cones, but I declined. If she saw no issue in serving cones like this, it deserves documentation and comment. At over $4, this is shameful and I truly hope that Brusters has not gone the way of reducing portions. To be fair again, I had a 2 for 1 coupon, so I guess I got the equivalent of a single cone for the price. Local institution or not, we'll think twice before visiting again...it's the principle. I dipped more than my share of cones working fountain at Howard Johnson's in high school. You never let a 'bare ball' go out on a cone...you scooped to form a ledge around the top of the cone, or you got dressed down. Shameful. read more

My sister and I downloaded the new app, and were hoping to use the free cone/dish coupon we got for downloading the app. The guy clearly saw us standing there with the coupon up on the app, but failed to tell us til the end we could not use it, as they did not have the scanners yet. The ice cream isn't soft served but the moment I received it, keep in mind it's cool outside, it was mostly soft and melting away at a rapid rate.
