Lines can DEFINITELY be long and there is no sun protection so if it's bright and sunny you WILL be in the sun so wear a hat and sunscreen. Always perplexed me with the amount of $$$ they make why there's no awning except at the very from of the line(s), if I'm honest. I've been going to this custard stand my whole life and even worked there in high school and summers home from college. It is a family run business and still to this day, cash only with no registers! The homemade soft custard ice cream is to die for! So creamy with the best flavors. The black raspberry is their most famous and out of this world delicious! They have several flavors all the time (vanilla, chocolate, black raspberry, butter pecan, cherry vanilla, candy bar and chocolate almond), while the other 4-6 flavors the owner changes usually weekly. They also have sundaes, floats and milkshakes, and a few yogurt flavors. It is typically packed at night time with lines 6 people + deep. I have to share my disappointment with Forbush. This is an ice cream place I have grown up with and always have supported when I come back home. My 86-year-old mother just got out of the hospital and wanted ice cream. The line wasn't long so we thought it was okay, only to get up to the window to see that nobody had masks on or gloves. (Workers) During this pandemic especially serving the public you need to follow the CDC guidelines especially when you are a business owner ! It doesn't matter your personal opinion. You need to take your customers into account. Especially that my mother is older, just got out of the hospital and was told to only be around people with masks. My mother called the manager here and said I was very disappointed to see that you didn't have masks on or gloves. Why would you not be doing those common sense things as handling food. He said we don't believe in that here ma'am. She said I won't be able to come back then and explained what her doctor had told her .He said that's fine we don't need your business. How disrespectful to treat anybody that way. Did he think that she's an older woman so he doesn't need her business or she was older than her and he doesn't value her life?Maybe he feels she's going to die soon( cause she is older)so why should we care about the mask and the CDC's recommendation. I will not support a business that does not care. No ice cream is worth that! I can get ice cream up the road on Elwood Road next to Forbush they wear gloves and masks and are exceptionally clean. We have always been treated with respect there. You can get food and ice cream! I am living near New York now and I have seen people that I know or love die from the covid- 19 virus, let's be serious people and care about each other. If you can't show your customers care and respect your ice cream is not worth it! You told her she didn't need to come back. My whole family will not be back! My mom has been raving about this place for years. I grew up in the area, but had never tried it. My grandpa is 98 years old and we came back to visit him this summer. Forbush was his request. My mom, son, sister and I headed down on a Friday night (woohoo). It was definetly the busiest place in town. A little bit of a line, but it moved quickly. 2 scoops is a small (!!!) With or without a cone. So, i ordered a small of chocolate almond and vanilla cherry custard. There are a dozen flavors, most of them custard. They have a few varieties in sherbet and yogurt. Mine was all custard. My sone ordered the butter pecan custard on a cone. The total for both was onlly $5! In Reno I would have paid $10. The scoops were large and delicious. The custard is made fresh, and the service was just as sweet. I will come back every time I visit the area. read more

Forbush has been around and in business for as long as I can remember and I always know they have great ice cream considering that 95% of the time when you drive by they're packed beyond belief! My mom got a small hot fudge sundae, and I got a small s'mores sundae. Such a refreshing treat on a warm day, and it was loaded with whipped cream on top! The line wasn't too long and we were in and out pretty quick, the staff is definitely speedy and consistent! No complaints here, definitely stop by if the lines not to long! It's cheap and good! For my mom and I to get two sundaes it was a little over 8$. Nothing beats a delicious deal!
