Wow, this is definitely the best ice cream in the greater Pittsburgh area. My dad lives nearby and he keeps multiple pints in the freezer -- he's a big fan. I got to try generous portions of the tiramisu and chocolate Oreo flavors. The tiramisu was spot on -- all the classic components of real tiramisu were somehow frozen right into the ice cream. You get the mascarpone flavor, a rich taste of espresso, and even chunks of ladyfinger. The texture was perfectly balanced, and the taste was rich and layered. The chocolate Oreo was just as amazing -- big chunks of Oreo cookies swirled into a smooth, deeply chocolaty base. Not too sweet, just really well-balanced and so satisfying. Hands down, this beats anything I've had from the grocery store -- and it holds its own (and then some) against bigger ice cream chains like Jeni's or Millie's. Definitely a local gem worth checking out. I've heard the owner is a wonderful person and a passionate artisan when it comes to making ice cream. read more

What an incredible find in Zelie! The ice cream is incredible, creamy and home-made. The Lemon Blueberry was out of this world. We also had Blackberry & Oreo, both super creamy and delicious. This was my first visit to IceBox Creamery. I was surprised that it was empty even though there was an event along Zelie and a lot of people around. I am guessing the owner is who served us. She was not personable, at all, borderline rude. We ordered one cup of Oreo and one cup of PB chocolate. I asked if she has sprinkles as a topping, because what ice cream place doesn't have sprinkles....this one apparently. Oreo was good PB chocolate needed more PB in it. Since it was hot out, we sat inside. She was in the back talking to someone on speaker phone about some drama. No one wants to hear that. The younger kids behind us asked if there was a restroom. She was very rude how she answered them. First and last trip to IceBox. read more

What a treat and wonderful experience we had at Icebox! The shop is spotlessly clean, and the owner, Linda was delightful to speak with. We had a bowl of Italian Wedding soup that was delicious and seasoned perfectly. My wife had a Raspberry ice cream and I had salted caramel. Both were very rich and creamy. Service is very slow, owner usually doesn't have helper or if she does they only work the register & doesn't scoop. It's cash only and she does have am ATM on site & can be a little snappy at new customers not used to this nuance. I get it, credit card fees are ridiculous, but should be ready for this discussion. If you are in a hurry, be prepared to wait. However I love the ice cream. Vanilla, chocolate chip, black raspberry, lemon sorbet just to name a few of my favs. The quality of ingredients and everything made on-site keeps me coming back as long as I'm on a leisurely stroll & I have cash because that ATM charges me to use it. While driving In Zelienople We came across an unexpected surprise. We found the ice cream place we loved in Cranberry that we thought permanently closed. What a great surprise! We were so happy. They have so many unique flavors and old favorites. Even though I really liked the almond torte sample that I had, I had to stick with my all time favorite ice cream chocolate peanut butter. It's always a winning combination. It was so creamy and chock full of peanut butter. Loved it! My husband had the butter pecan which was his favorite. It was mostly vanilla but a high quality vanilla. It's only slightly past Cranberry on 19. We're so happy that we know they're down there. We'll definitely be back. read more

Cute and delicious ice cream shop in downtown Zelienople. The shop is owned by a sweet woman who makes the ice cream herself. She is very proud of her shop and has every right to be! There's a wide variety of flavors available all year, along with a few seasonal flavors, so there's something for everyone. I ordered the Mint Chocolate Chip and loved it. The ice cream was smooth, the mint was refreshing and not overpowering, and the chocolate chips added a nice extra sweetness to every bite. I was a bit surprised by the price of a single scoop, $3.25, which doesn't give you that much ice cream in your dish or cone. It was delicious and better quality ingredients, but not sure the price matched the quantity you receive. Amazing and unique flavors (my go to is lemon blueberry, but I haven't tried one I wouldn't order again), service, and just a cute spot overall. 100% recommend visiting! Yum! Loved this ice cream. It's all homemade and they even serve hot soup options as well if it's too cold for ice cream. The ice cream is pretty cheap as well. They have a $5 minimum for credit/debit cards so bring cash if you're getting something small. I definitely recommend the chocolate peanut butter. It was so rich and creamy and filled me up right away. Even on a cold day, it's a great idea to come here. I came in January and there was a line. They have about 20 everyday flavors and a couple seasonal ones so you have plenty to choose from. They also have a parking lot, which is a plus so you don't have to worry about finding street parking. read more

For a local business the employees do not seem to be concerned about customer retention. It took a few minutes for the lady to come out of the back room and serve us. We were the only customers when we came in as well as the 20 mins or so we were there. I felt we were rushed through the ordering process with 2 children who were trying to decide what to get despite being the only customers in there. They didn't serve sprinkles on top of ice cream which was bizarre and disappointed one of our kids. Service was not friendly. They also charge for an extra paper cup and plastic spoon. One positive was the ice cream was good. Will not be returning because of all the other negative aspects. read more

It's so disappointing to me that the owner of this establishment refuses to follow COVID safety rules. Earlier in the pandemic we visited twice, the first time assuming she just forgot a mask, the second time hearing her declare "no masks needed here" to the people ahead of us, and now this third time when my kids baseball team agreed to meet here. No mask still. It's pretty ridiculous when the rest of the country has managed to make this one change to help others and show respect for each other. I hate to think what other shortcuts she might be taking that could impact our health. The ice cream is tasty but I prefer to support a small business that cares about the community. For that reason we won't be back. So many wonderful places to get ice cream in the Cranberry and Zelie area. read more

Came here on my way home for National Ice Cream Day and was pleasantly surprised. They had a wonderful variety of flavors. The only unfortunate part was that the employee was not masked but she did put on gloves to scoop our cones. read more

This ice cream is AMAZING but the location is horrible. Still, the owner did a very good job with the place. The only problem is she mainly works alone. I recently walked in and she was in the back making a fresh batch. She yelled from the back to wait a minute. Which turned out to be 5. Then upon deciding on what to order, hoping to get explanations and samples, she went back to the back room and I waited another 5 minutes. I had to get to an appointment so I walked out a little frustrated. I feel bad for this lady. She has such a great product but I may have caught her at the wrong time. Linda is super kind, too, so you're dealing with the type of person you'd want to support. Any time we're back in the area, we make a point to get some cones, pints & quarts to take back with us. If you see Nutella on the menu, get it! The salted caramel is great on its own or the perfect complement to another flavor. The chocolate marshmallow just might be the creamiest you'll ever try. This shop has the best hard ice cream I have ever had. The owner is incredibly hardworking and makes all the ice cream on her own. Despite this, there is still a wide variety of flavors to choose from. The bananas foster and carrot cake, a Father's Day special, are the two best flavors I have tried. They are amazingly creamy. In addition to offering delicious food, the creamery also is absolutely adorable. Its pink walls and cute decor make the picture perfect ice cream shop.
