Their version of "Daycare" is not an afternoon playing but time spent in a tiny box of a "room" with occasional outside time. (We were shown the "room" through a window of 1 building and while it is tall, it was barely big enough for our dog to curl up and go to sleep - especially if there was to be a water bowl inside.) Our dog goes to daycare to play at other daycares and loves to play with other dogs - he often rolls on his back even to the little ones to play. They said he was "circling" the other dogs. He's a herding breed - that's what they do! They just didn't like my assessment of their facility - and my dog is big and some dogs are scared of him but we haven't had any issues at any other daycare. I'm sure it scared my dog to be put immediately into a kennel after being stuck in one for months before we rescued him. Not a "family" farm - just a giant kennel. We were not allowed inside any buildings on our tour. I will add that we didn't see ANY dogs outside - not on drop off, not during our tour or on pick up. Their "trainer" came out and told us that the first thing he would be doing is putting Monte in a box. We immediately questioned this and said we didn't like it. Again, our dog Monte is a rescue dog and was very stressed when we got him from a situation where he was too often in a kennel. Why would they think this is the way to have any dog start off calm and happy in a new environment? They obviously have many open areas where you could have had him inside or outside by himself to introduce people and dogs little by little. He was probably stressed by this, however their trainer saw we didn't like the place from the start and didn't handle things properly. Their trainer continued to tell us they sit in a box all afternoon with maybe 2 20-30 minute play sessions. Again, day care is supposed to be play time - not time spent in a box! He could see we didn't like this. Their trainer then said our dog displayed inappropriate behavior. Our dog has never muzzle punched any dog - he doesn't mount or show teeth (this comment was added on after the fact)! He loves other dogs and is usually submissive even with the little dogs. We've had many other dogs and when they have gone to play for an afternoon at other daycare facilities, they aren't put in a box unless they are overnights. If your other clients realized how much time you keep the dogs in kennels, I'm pretty sure they would pull out fast.

    Fat Cat Pet Sitters

    Fat Cat Pet Sitters

There's nothing more terrifying than having to find a new pet sitter. So I am unbelievably lucky…read morethat I came across Fat Cat Pet Sitters. I have an older cat who was taken care of by close friends when we traveled. But when they had their third child, we didn't want to saddle them with our cat. And our cat's terror of vets made boarding out of the question. We saw the ad for Fat Cat in the local village newsletter, interviewed her over the phone and had our new sitter. That was a few years ago now and we could not be happier. Now, even if we're only away for a weekend, we'll have her stop by, and when we get home - short trip or long - our cat is so much more relaxed and we're forgiven for our abandonment much more quickly. Unless you have a cat, you can't really appreciate the power of feline disdain. Of kitty contempt. Having a pet sitter we can trust utterly, who spends time hanging with our senior pet, and who definitely makes a difference we can see when we get home is priceless. And as that goes, price-wise, I'm paying on par with what I paid before I moved here, which is more than reasonable. Don't settle for someone who doesn't come with a pet sitting pedigree: The woman who runs - who is - Fat Cat is insured, she has a long history in the same business in my area, and she has a network of long time sitters she works with for coverage if she's unavailable for any part of our sitting term. And it's rare that she's ever unavailable. In all the years we've worked with Fat Cat, that's only happened once, and the woman who covered did an equally great job with our pet, and she had an equally strong reputation and history. When you're giving someone responsibility for you pet AND access to your home while you're away, trust is the most important factor. Despite being anxious people, we have no reservations about Fat Cat Pet Sitters and only the highest praise.

When I found Fat Cat Pet Sitters (pretty close to me) and spoke to Meryl, I just knew I found someone who will look after my furbabies. We talked few times on the phone, arranged a meeting, she came over and we were able to discuss everything and anything. While we were away, she would message me every two, three days about the cats (I have 3), just to let me know what they've been up to, she'll send you photos, bring mail in, play with them little. I was truly able to enjoy my trip knowing she was looking after them. I will be using Meryl in the future when we travel again. You can just tell she loves cats and they love her back :)

Lydia provides daily walk service for our Maddy and she and her team have cared for Maddy while we have been away on extended vacations. Each time she has come to our home to care for Maddy she has cared for other items that needed attention, i.e., dying plants, trash bins that have been left out, packages sitting on the stoop are brought inside. We've also benefited from her personal assistant service including airport runs, house checks and posting items for sale online. She's prompt, attentive and a great ally to our home and our precious Maddy.

I did try a Camp BowWow up here and was not happy with it and I was leaning towards 'in house' dog watchers. I found Pet Sitting On The Run and scheduled a visit to meet Lydia and have her meet my dogs and cats. She came over to my house and was extremely professional. Explained all of her services and costs. I have two challenging dogs...one is a jackrussel mix that is not really fond of anyone and a shar pei that has huge amounts of anxiety when my husband leaves him plus I have a 14 year old cat that gets thyroid pills twice a day. Love, love love her services!!!!! Never have I ever worried that anything inappropriate was happening to my pets or my house while I am away. If there is a problem with my pets, she texts me right away. I am fully confident that she can handle any situation with the animals which allows me to be away and not constantly worry about everything back home. If there is medication to be given, they also will administer it. My next door neighbor girls always ask me if they can dog sit while I'm gone and it would be less money but as long as Pet Sitting On The Run is in business....I will continue to use their services because my pets are worth the money to be taken care of properly, professionally and stay in the comfort of your own. Best in house pet service period!!!!
