The Dog District is fabulous! My Alfred loves it!! when I pick him up to come home he doesn't even want to leave. when I drop him off in the morning, he goes right in and doesn't look back. He can't wait to see all his Doggy friends, Alfred is always tired after going to doggy daycare at The dog district. The individuals that work at The dog district are fabulous too. Alfred loves all of them. highly recommend it friendly staff affordable prices for doggy daycare and they also do bath and nails reasonable price. Love this place! I've been taking our pup to the Dog District for almost 2 yrs. The incredible staff treat our pup like family. The place is super clean and well run. The prices are great too. There are fun pup parties that are posted on Facebook. I take our pup at least 3 times a week so that he gets lots of exercise and socializes with other dogs. The staff know him so well and use time to help introduce new dogs. I've also boarded out dog there. They offer a dog taxi service but i haven't used it. I cantbsay enough about how wonderful the Dog District has been for us and our favorite family member. read more

I've had the Dog District care for my dearly departed Harrison and my current buddy Murphy. Both just loved going there. At some other facilities, I could tell that Harrison was reluctant to enter, presumably because he was not treated well. But at Dog District, Harrison, and now Murphy, were/are eager to enter which indicates to me that both were/are treated really well and was/is an enjoyable experience for them. Staff is so friendly and obviously concerned about our pet's welfare. I also enjoy seeing dog pics on FB. I'd highly recommend. I have no reservations about entrusting my pet to DD. read more

I recently went on a family vacation and decided to get my boy some extra training instead of just simply boarding him.  After talking to Shannon (trainer) and identifying a couple problem areas, I decided to move forward with a 'board & train (b&t)'.  Shannon worked with him on his anxiety issues (fear of new people) and helped reinforce training that he had already received so when I picked him up, it wasn't like he forgot everything.  Overall, I'm very happy that I did a B&T which allowed me to enjoy my time away and all the while knowing that my dog was getting love, attention and training.  I would definitely recommend the Board and Train package to anyone that's considering training their dog! read more

BEWARE!! Extremely, EXTREMELY heavy-handed with the dogs when they "train" them. I used to volunteer here and the things I personally witnessed were alarming. Neglect is common (dogs not getting out, unqualified employees, zero employee accountability, dogs that have been harmed by Mike, dogs who weren't fed, commonly went without water, and didn't receive medication). If you care about your dog at all, do not take them here. read more

Ran at bare minimum with poorly trained staff. The lobby consistently smells of urine, staff look like they come to work in their pajamas and have the same lackadaisical attitude, allowing dogs to pull leads, jump up, play rough, etc. Basic training is not reinforced. My dog has come back water starved, injured, and I have caught them kenneling him all day rather than playing with him. In addition, he has exhibited behavior (lunged, raised fur, growled at the owner) that we've NEVER seen before. Something shady is going on at the Dog District. However...Consummate Canine, who are third party trainers they use are wonderful and can be hired separately. read more

I can't even believe I'm writing this review! I thought the Dog District was a great. How wrong I was!! Our dog spends most afternoons with a family member but that person is out-of-town. So I decided to let her have some play time with other dogs and called to schedule her for doggie day care. I called the night before and asked if they had availability and if they didn't to please give me a call back. I never heard from them so I thought we were good. When we arrived the owner approached my dog in the parking lot and she cowered a bit. While he was near and as I sat in the seat of my car w my feet on the pavement, my 65 pound dog jumped onto the floorboard, under the steering wheel, up and over the gear shift and into the backseat to get away. I thought that was very odd, but didn't pay attention. The owner mentioned he was going to pick up other dogs so I went inside and left my dog with a guy who seems pleasant the few times I've met him. Upon taking her leash, my dog's actions indicated that she didn't want to be there. Again, I thought it was odd, but didn't pay that much attention. Late in the morning my husband looked at Facebook to see the photos of our dog and there were none. I called to check on her and learned that she was in a kennel. I asked him three times, if she had played with the dogs and each time he suggested that she's getting ready to go. Finally though he said she had not. SHE HAD BEEN THERE FOUR HOURS AND HAD NOT YET PLAYED W A DOG. Finally I decided that I needed to pay attention, made arrangements to leave work and get my dog. When I arrived, the guy who I left her with came out. I TOLD HIM THAT I WANTED MY DOG AND HE TOLD ME NO. He said that he wanted me to talk to the owner and sent a text. THIS ENTIRE TIME I KEPT TELLING HIM TO GET MY DOG AND HE REFUSED TO DO SO. I mentioned that if he wouldn't get my dog, then I would call the police, but before I did that I called my husband who asked to speak to the guy. He refused. Finally the owner arrived, sat down and said 'what's the problem? What's going on? Why are you so upset? Blah blah blah.' I said get my dog and again he didn't immediately do that. Once he realized there would be no talking they agreed. I saw her in a kennel in the playroom which is typically used to introduce the dogs to the pack. True to the word of the guy on the phone, he moved her. SADLY EVEN AFTER BEING THERE FOR FIVE HOURS MY DOG STILL HADN'T GOTTEN TO PLAY WITH THE OTHER DOGS. While waiting for the guy to bring her out, the owner said 'if I didn't calm down I wouldn't be able to come back.' HA! As if. I appreciate not having to pay for my dog to be locked in a kennel when she could be at home. The owner who hadn't been in the building then began to lie telling me she hadn't been in the kennel, she had been outside, etc. He wasn't in the building. He wasn't in watching the dogs. He doesn't know what he's talking about. He also told me there would be no charge. I think the guy (not the owner) is probably a good human being, but didn't know how to handle my urgency. Had he gotten my dog right away the situation wouldn't have escalated. However the root of the problem remains....my dog was locked in a kennel w no other canine interaction for five hours. The introduction to the pack could have started at 7:45 when I dropped her off. Instead it started at 11:55-ish after I called and was angry. If you want your dog to interact with others dogs and not be locked up I would NOT recommend The Dog District. There's no way to know if they will provide your dog interactive experience with other dogs or keep her locked in a kennel. read more

This whole post can be summed up with: Mike and Tasha are dog whisperers. If you have a rescue, new pup, or a dog from any walk of life, I highly suggest bringing them to the Dog District. It will be beneficial to your canine and also yourself. I rescued my current dog 3 weeks ago and he would not listen or obey any commands and had serious trust issues with men, which led to barking/charging at most. I informed Mike of this upon Benji and my arrival, and he listened intently and began demonstrating how to handle certain situations as they arise. After one, 1-hour group session yesterday, Benji now sits on command and has been much more cooperative during our walks. We still have a ways to go, but I am very optimistic after just one class. I can't wait to continue attending group classes as they are quick, affordable, and leave both dog parent and dog with new-found confidence. Keep up the excellent work, Dog District Team! My dog Harley LOVES the Dog District as much as we do. Both Michael and Tasha are the best. They genuinely care about every dog that is there and even not there. It is alway clean and I never have any worries when Harley is there. They have a great taxi service that makes life for the busy dog owner a little bit easier. I wish there were words that could properly define my gratitude for the owners/staff of The Dog District!! Upon moving to the area, I was immediately happy to find a place that is accepting of the bully breeds. (AND that they rescue at-risk pups!!!!) I booked a week stay for my pup when I went on vacation, while there I got a tour of the facility and was invited to watch my dog be assimilated into the pack, it was a great experience! The staff is always so helpful and friendly with any concerns I have. During vacation I loved being able to log onto Facebook and see pictures of him playing with other pups. Post vacation my pup came back to me happy and healthy. We now bring our dog here for day care! When I drop him off the staff kindly recognizes me and my dog - and should I have a reason to call they always answer pleasantly. I love to see the sweet pups they have saved that are up for adoption. Having adopted a rescue pup I am especially thankful that they are a controlled cage less environment. I love that there are indoor and outdoor settings. It's such a good feeling to know that the staff is learning from a trainer, the owner Mike. I feel very comfortable with pup being here for doggy day care and boarding. I am so so thankful that caring owners and staff are out there for my staffy. Dog District is AMAZING! After working at a vet for over five years, I learned how important a clean facility, good staff, and rules regarding pets being up to date on vaccines are with a doggie daycare/boarding facility. Dog District is VERY clean, ALL the staff is kind and love animals, and they require pets to be healthy and vaccinated to be there so other pets do not get sick! I can't tell you enough how important these things are for your pet! My four month old puppy has been boarded, as well as had daycare, and the staff kept up with helping me potty train and socialize my fur baby while she was there. I couldn't be any happier, and neither could my puppy! As soon as we get there, she runs to the door to go in and play with the staff and the other dogs. I can also check their Facebook page and see photos of my puppy so happy playing in daycare with all her doggie friends. If those aren't good enough reasons, Dog District is also extremely affordable, making choosing daycare or boarding with them an easy choice. I would HIGHLY recommend Dog District to anyone looking for boarding, training, or daycare services! read more

I tried The Dog District out because I felt bad leaving my new pup at home during the day while I work and never tried doggy daycare before so I gave it a whirl. I took her there for 2 different times and both times I got her back smelling like urine and her fur was sticky. I understand that my dog LOVES playing with other dogs and this may cause the fur to get slobbered on, but I would hope that if they noticed a dog smelled as bad as mine did and her whole body was gross that they would wipe her off at the time I pick her up. I'll be trying a new daycare to see the results. read more

The Dog District is under new ownership. (I think.) In any case, I was happy with my dogs' care while we were gone. They came home happy & tired because they played with the other dogs a lot. The videos are great, so you can see how your dog is interacting with others. They knew a lot about my dogs upon pick up, and they were very friendly. Mike and Tasha are miracle workers. They have handled just about every situation out there when it comes to dogs and truly put their heart and soul into providing the best care and training for animals. They have rehabilitated animals from the worst situations and who exhibit awful behavior and turned them into loving, loyal pets. We are currently having them help us with puppy obedience and leash training for the pitbull puppy we adopted through them and it is going wonderfully. My parents also go to Mike and Tasha for all of their daycare, boarding, and training needs for our Doberman. Our dobe was a wild child and took a lot of work but the things they have done for us and taught us have turned him into the most loving, well behaved version of himself. read more

I've been here a few times mostly for nail trims and what not. Everyone always seems nice. A few months back I brought my 1 year old high energy dog in for daycare. I wasn't going to be able to make it home until late. Like I said my dog is high energy and extremely playful with dogs and other people. When she plays with her friends for a few hours she is dead tired afterward. Even sluggish the next day. I dropped her off at 8 in the morning when they opened. Wasn't able to pick her up until after 5 that night. When I got home instead of having a tired happy dog, I had a dog with all the energy in the world. She wouldn't go to sleep that night either because of how wound up she was. Like I said when she plays it knocks her out. The only thing I can think is that she was locked in a cage all day. Like 10 hours! Even if she had played for 2 of those 10 hours she would've been wiped out. I ended up convincing myself I must be overthinking it. A few weeks after that my mother took her there to get a bath. Pulling up my mom said that she started going a little crazy. Like she did not want to be there. She opened the car door and my dog bolted for the street. I've never seen her act like that before or since. That was enough by far to tell me that something wasn't right. Needless to say we will not be visiting again. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE The Dog District!!! I was shocked at how many daycares have breed restrictions - with or without coming out and directly saying so. I came across The Dog District who (at the time) appeared to specialize with bully breeds more specifically. It is important for me to have consistent, reliable, capable and most important knowledgeable handlers in order to feel comfortable with leaving my dog. The Dog District far exceeded my expectations!!! Safety, cleanliness and experience are their number one priority! I am very impressed by the size of the building as well as the exterior yard space... plenty of room to run inside/outside all day. My dog is thriving now that she has an outlet for all of her energy! She is able to socialize and engage with dogs of all sizes and breeds in her play group. I love that the staff is so attentive and works with my pup to correct behavior and educates me with the tools I need to follow through with this process. They offer grooming and personal training sessions while my dog is (or isn't) at daycare which I have utilized - kind of like an all in one. The Dog District is extremely accommodating when it comes to my hectic schedule and is more than willing to pick up or drop my dog off. I have not had the need to board my dog but would never hesitate if I were in a bind. My dog comes home exhausted from long days of play and fun interaction... She's been going here for over 4 years now - I couldn't be happier!!! I highly recommend The Dog District!!! read more

While our dog spent five days here and seemed fine when we picked her up, her bed did not. We were encouraged to bring her bed (an expensive Frontgate model) but it did not survive the stay. I was literally ripped to shreds. It looks like it was the victim of a dog tug of war. What is worse is no one fessed up to it. They just put in in our car, so we did not realize the damage until we got home. Seeing our dog's bed makes me wonder about what happened to her there that she cannot tell us about. read more

My pup Tilly loves going to the Dog District. She gets to spend the day with other dogs to get the play and socialization she needs. It shows that the owner and staff really have a passion and dedication for dogs. Mike, the owner has also done training for me and the dog of a friend. Noticeable differences were seen. My great dane puppy loves it there, Even though she came home smelling like urine you just give them a bath and get over it as along as you dog is having fun and not getting attacked thats all you should care about, As for other places theres always dog fights and or them not calling you back or not allowing a disabled dog to play with all dogs but no this place lets all dogs play together they dont discriminate read more

super disappointed. scheduled an in-house dog training with the owner and a member of his staff that was in training. talked 2x with them regarding importance of timing of visit as we moved into a new home and I wanted to get my dominant dog introduced to the neighbor's dog. my appointment was scheduled at 5pm. at 515pm i called to see where they were and why i hadn't received a message as to them being delayed. i was told they would arrive "any second" . I called back at 545pm and 6pm and left a message to please let me know what was happening and for someone to call me. it is now 7pm. no one called, no one showed. I understand being delayed, i understand having to reschedule, i understand getting lost. what i don't understand is absolutely no call from the trainer and a no-show to boot, super disappointed. extremely unprofessional. and they knew i was committed to at least +3 training sessions. wow. zero stars for lack of professionalism and disrespecting the client. read more
