    First day

Love this place! I've been taking our pup to the Dog District for almost 2 yrs. The incredible staff treat our pup like family. The place is super clean and well run. The prices are great too. There are fun pup parties that are posted on Facebook. I take our pup at least 3 times a week so that he gets lots of exercise and socializes with other dogs. The staff know him so well and use time to help introduce new dogs. I've also boarded out dog there. They offer a dog taxi service but i haven't used it. I cantbsay enough about how wonderful the Dog District has been for us and our favorite family member.

I recently went on a family vacation and decided to get my boy some extra training instead of just simply boarding him.  After talking to Shannon (trainer) and identifying a couple problem areas, I decided to move forward with a 'board & train (b&t)'.  Shannon worked with him on his anxiety issues (fear of new people) and helped reinforce training that he had already received so when I picked him up, it wasn't like he forgot everything.  Overall, I'm very happy that I did a B&T which allowed me to enjoy my time away and all the while knowing that my dog was getting love, attention and training.  I would definitely recommend the Board and Train package to anyone that's considering training their dog!

Our big, friendly Airedale loves coming here - overnight and day care - and we appreciate how well the staff cares for her, and about her.

But Robin made friends with him and he even let her pet him which is rare. If my cat trusts someone, I trust them too. He has great instincts. Every day Robin would send me a picture of my cat and tell me how he is doing. When we were back from vacation, I found a log that Robin left me with all the details of what was done and how my cat behaved. This was a great experience and I really appreciate the fact that I could just relax and not be worried about my precious little furry friend.

I have used this pet sitting service for at least 10 years. At first, they were excellent. However,…read morein recent years, the quality of the sitters has gone downhill, and Robin is not available in emergencies and she's hands off in general. Even though she lives one town over from us, I never see her come over and help sitters, when a dog is injured or monitor what the sitters do. There was one sitter who decided to turn on all of our decorative kitchen lights (that were not to code, and we did not leave them on or use them) while we were out of the country --costing us $1500 in changing out the lighting since Robin's response was she could not go over to turn off the lighting but she'd have another sitter do it. I only noticed midway vacation, when I looked through the security camera at night, and thought it looked oddly lit up. Then, another two situations, where we left town, and no one communicated that our two dogs were jumping the 2 foot gate and going upstairs daily and using the upstairs puppy pads, multiple times a day. Instead they kept it to themselves, and one dog started getting lame, with a limp, which incurred $2000 of vet visits, chiropractic, and laser treatments on his back leg after those two trips. When I said to Robin, don't your sitters think they should convey this, or tell you, or confer with each other re why there are all these visits upstairs by the dogs (to a litter box, so there would be proof), which mean a pet is jumping over a 2 foot gate? Robin's response is that she thinks I need very specific communications, and it's unfortunate, but I need to find a different way to gate off the dogs. The last issue was this past month, my co2/fire alarm upstairs (a Kidde 10 year battery, not meant to be broken or opened and having an expiration of 2029) was destroyed by a sitter because she did not want the alarm to frighten the dogs. No one contacted the fire dept. or me or my husband (we were out of the country). When I insisted someone come back, and gave them a list to check, the gas stove was found left on. Someone bumped on it, leaned into it, and turned it on, because we did not leave it on. I asked for another alarm from my master bedroom to be placed in the room, and monitored. That was the only peace of mind I had, and when I returned, I had an additional invoice for their time, from the sitters, for both breaking the alarm (45 min) and rechecking when gas stove was found left on (30 min). And, Robin's response was almost like she thought we left the gas stove on. When I pointed out she's charging me for their bad decision making, she refunded the pet sitter charge for the extra time. I had already paid her $1147.00 for the 9 and a 1/2 days (4 visits a day; 1-45 min and 3-30 min visits daily) and she wanted to charge me more. When I questioned Robin re her sitters' faulty decision making and her not stepping in, and helping, in emergencies, when we're out of the country, she said I required very specific communication, and she'd place new procedures in place for alarms. It says on her site she provides home care. This is not true. I also mentioned this last 10 days, someone had not read the instructions for feeding vitamin packets, and split them in 2, instead of feeding one each (on the vitamin bowl with individual packets, written, "one packet each"). And, it appeared one sitter did not administer daily flea/tick spray before placing dogs outside. Our small dirty rugs were placed in the washer, without shaking them out and you could see dirt everywhere in the washer, and floor debris in the bleach container. I brought up the history of her inability to step in when something is a home risk or dog risk and helping the sitters. Her response was essentially that I ask for too much. So, I asked for my multiple sets of keys back to my house, which I have not received, one week later. So I got my home rekeyed. I bought a new co2/fire alarm. I don't think Robin is someone I trust with the care and safety of my home or pets. She does not monitor or train her sitters enough. And, you're not really getting service from her--it all falls to her sitters, some of whom do not have skills to do the job safely, do not read, do not communicate, and some of whom are excellent and can do the job. Looking back, I think I got lucky with her sitters in the past, but some have left, and some are requested so much that I don't get the best ones, especially, when I'm on vacation, and require multiple sits. My advice is to find someone who both gets all your money and sits your pets. In other words, I'm hiring the person who I pay, because her business model means the sitters get paid probably half, but she does not do her half.

Since we lost our last elderly rescue, our former dog walkers had retired so we found Patti, who unlike others I had called, immediately got in touch with me and scheduled a "meet and greet" to see if she'd be a good fit for our house. I can't speak highly enough of her. She's caring, professional, definately has working knowledge of dog behavior and we can rely on her, even when we had to make a schedule change on short notice due to an unexpected work trip. Our Lab just loves her, and waits for her patiently as soon as she senses it's about "that time" (with the same precision as "it's dinnertime!"

Patti took excellent care of my dog and my two cats while I was out of town for a weekend, and she sent texts and photos each time she visited, so I felt connected to my fur babies while I was gone. She brought the mail in, cleaned the cat box, and she even left an Easter basket of dog, cat and people treats for my pets and my three kids--from the Easter Beagle. When she came by to return the keys, my dog went bananas and was so excited to see her! It was so nice to know all my pets were comfortable and cared for in my home, and not in a crate in a place that was strange to them. It was also nice to know my house still had a dog inside it while I was gone--I really appreciated that extra feeling of security. Patti is the best! We'll be calling her every time we need care for our pets.
