She referred us to Jan's, and we've never looked back. For our first "get acquainted" visit, she arrived with a clipboard and professional form to get info on our cats, likes/dislikes, where their food, water bowls and litter pans are located, name of vet(s), health/medical questions, what to do in case of a pet emergency. And then info about us and our house--alarm system info, newspapers/mail brought in, etc. We were bowled over with her professionalism. And they're bonded and insured. For about 12 years now Jan has watched our pets, and is always available--even on the rare but unavoidable short-notice need. She lets us know of her vacations well in advance so we can plan accordingly. Jan's business is as good as it gets, and reasonably-priced as well. She's a treat, and we're glad to know her!

There are 3 things I worry about when leaving my animals behind on a trip…read more 1. Will they be taken care of? 2. Will they be comfortable? 3. Will they be okay in case of an emergency? Lauren puts all 3 of these to worries to ease. 1. Will they be taken care of?? I have never seen my dogs like another person more. She takes care of them and communicates with me if she has any worries about their behaviors, or conditions. 2. Will they be comfortable?? My line of thought might not be the same as everyone else, but I feel like my dogs are comfortable in their own space and home. The ability to leave my dogs at home and have someone either come let them out and take care of them, or stay over night with them puts me at ease. I've boarded my dogs outside of home before and they appear stressed when I come back. After having Lauren watch my dogs they don't seem to skip a beat and seem calm and happy. 3. Will they be okay in case of an emergency?? My animals are like family to me. It would wreck me with concern to know that they are hurt or in danger with me away. Lauren has been working as a vet tech for over 7 years. If there is an issue, she knows what to do, or knows who to contact to find out what to do. It makes me a lot more comfortable being away. I would recommend Lauren to anyone seeking petsitting in the Stc area.

She was and still is much loved by the staff there even though she has moved on to another position with increased responsibility. My pup was a 7-year old rescue who had recently come to live with me and had not had a very good previous life at the time I met Lauren. At about the same time she came to live with me my situation was going to require my making several trips back and forth to Colorado over the course of a few months. I investigated the quality of several boarding kennels in my area. Although most were highly recommended I came to realize that no matter the cost or recommendations, my pup was not ready nor would do well in that type of stressful environment. During a Vet visit I met Lauren. Knowing that I was looking for a professional to take care of my pup she explained that home sitting and caring for dogs was something she had done for some length of time. The Veterinarian and staff at the vet clinic highly recommended Lauren. I add that my pup fell instantly in love with Lauren during her first visit at the Vet clinic. Lauren has taken care of pup multiple times and every time I come home it is to a very happy dog who has been well cared for and most importantly....loved. Lauren loves animals. When it comes to dogs it does not matter if they are tiny or very large she loves them all and they love her. Lauren is very flexible and willing to work around your requests or your pets needs. Her background as an experienced Vet Tech is an added bonus in being able to assess needs or unusual behaviors in the pet and the necessary actions to take. Regardless of whether you have Lauren stay at your house or come in as often as you request to feed and walk your pet you will be nothing but inordinately pleased and your pet will be happy as well as non-stressed. I highly recommend Lauren to care for your pet.

There's nothing more terrifying than having to find a new pet sitter. So I am unbelievably lucky…read morethat I came across Fat Cat Pet Sitters. I have an older cat who was taken care of by close friends when we traveled. But when they had their third child, we didn't want to saddle them with our cat. And our cat's terror of vets made boarding out of the question. We saw the ad for Fat Cat in the local village newsletter, interviewed her over the phone and had our new sitter. That was a few years ago now and we could not be happier. Now, even if we're only away for a weekend, we'll have her stop by, and when we get home - short trip or long - our cat is so much more relaxed and we're forgiven for our abandonment much more quickly. Unless you have a cat, you can't really appreciate the power of feline disdain. Of kitty contempt. Having a pet sitter we can trust utterly, who spends time hanging with our senior pet, and who definitely makes a difference we can see when we get home is priceless. And as that goes, price-wise, I'm paying on par with what I paid before I moved here, which is more than reasonable. Don't settle for someone who doesn't come with a pet sitting pedigree: The woman who runs - who is - Fat Cat is insured, she has a long history in the same business in my area, and she has a network of long time sitters she works with for coverage if she's unavailable for any part of our sitting term. And it's rare that she's ever unavailable. In all the years we've worked with Fat Cat, that's only happened once, and the woman who covered did an equally great job with our pet, and she had an equally strong reputation and history. When you're giving someone responsibility for you pet AND access to your home while you're away, trust is the most important factor. Despite being anxious people, we have no reservations about Fat Cat Pet Sitters and only the highest praise.

We talked few times on the phone, arranged a meeting, she came over and we were able to discuss everything and anything. While we were away, she would message me every two, three days about the cats (I have 3), just to let me know what they've been up to, she'll send you photos, bring mail in, play with them little. I was truly able to enjoy my trip knowing she was looking after them. I will be using Meryl in the future when we travel again. You can just tell she loves cats and they love her back :)

From the first meeting, where Kristen came to meet the dogs, I knew I had found someone who would care about my dogs as much as I do. One of my dogs really does like anyone but me. Kristen took her time, and I think spent extra time to get to know her. I received daily emails with pictures of how they were doing, which no Puppy Prison has ever done for me. When I got home, I saw how well they were, and looked happy and healthy as when I left them. When Kristen came to drop off my keys, my kids were excited to see her, so I knew right then, when I need a pet sitter, or pet walker, I know you to call, and you should too.

After doing much research, I wasn't able to find anything that would suit our needs in our new area and decided to check into a dog walker instead. After reaching out to John, I was extremely impressed with his timely manner response. We chatted about my pups needs, behavior characteristics, etc. Two things I love most about K9 Trotter is one, John is so reliable, trustworthy and very knowledgeable when it comes to understanding dogs and their needs. I have no doubt in my mind that when Ryder is in his care, he is safe and having the best time ever! Second, John offers a variety of activities, not just your typical walk around the block and then drop them back off. He actually will play fetch, go for a long walk or even let them run next to his dog friendly bicycle if it's a real high energy dog. Plus in the summer time, he'll take water loving dogs swimming which is so cool! I also can't forget to mention the ABSOLUTE BEST THING about his service, John wears a Go-pro from the moment he enters your home to the moment he says goodbye for the day. He then will send you the video each evening so you can recap the entire visit and see in real time just how much fun your four legged family member had! K9 Trotter is a small local business and very affordable. John is the owner and sole dog walker at this point so I know he is the only one entering my home.
