This is a hidden gem in Exeter PA. Hidden right next to Boscovs store. I think this is one of the least expensive place to come out and drink. The pizza here is the best around. Sometimes I come a slice of pizza or two with two draft beers under $10.00. The people that work there are like family. I'm honestly really disappointed with my experience at Bruno's Pizza. I ordered a Margherita pizza expecting something fresh and well-made, but it was the complete opposite. The sauce looked like it was just slapped on with no care, there was no oregano at all, and overall it just tasted off. For $25, I expected way better quality. I've had much better luck just getting a specialty pizza elsewhere like Dominoes, no offense, and at a better value too. This was definitely not worth the price. I've been going to Bruno's for many years. (30+) The food is always good, that is why I always go back. The servers are always friendly and know me and my boyfriend too. Lately, though, things have changed. The last few times we were there, we ordered appetizers, (wings, pierogies) and a meal, a calzone or a slice of pizza. The pizza and the meal, came out before the appetizers. The wings came out AFTER the calzone. The waitress said that wings take a little longer. Since when? Did they have to catch the chicken? We had to ask the chef if there was an order of wings ready, and he brought them right to the table. I was disappointed with my experience here. The pizza itself was not very tasty and definitely did not live up to expectations. On top of that, the service and overall setup were confusing. After ordering, no one gave any direction about where we were supposed to sit, so we were left figuring it out on our own. We also weren't told that food would not be brought out to us. After waiting, I went up to the counter to ask about our order and was simply told, "there's no service." A little communication upfront would have gone a long way and made the experience much less frustrating. I have been getting Sicilian pizza from Bruno's for years. I usually get during lunch hours and not evenings. Whoever cooks during the day knows what they are doing. Pizza order: 1/2 sausage 1/2 onion, mushroom, spinach and anchovy The reason for one star review: (1) wet spinach thrown over pizza, including my sons half, which was sausage only (2) One of the corner pieces on my half had no cheese at all (3) There was 1 anchovy on each slice, which came to 3 anchovies in total I removed the wet spinach, but the nasty bitter taste was overpowering the pizza. I had to toss one slice from my son's half, because spinach was on one of his slices, and I tossed all three of my slices. So out of 6 slices only two slices were edible. The wings were delicious as always! Management needs to remind pizza makers that veggies/fruit goes on a pizza raw. They will cook in the oven. Went to eat there. Sat down and it was busy so we were patient. Sat for close to 20 minutes waiting. Another couple comes in and sits down - waitress rushing by tells us she will be with us - fine. Then five minutes later ignores us and waits in the people that came in 20 minutes after us. We just got up and left as my patience was gone. The other people who saw us sitting there before us also could have said something. At least a half hour or more just sitting there and nothing. Been going to Bruno's since the 1970's, always had good food, Except for today. Ordered a Sicilian Pizza and when I got it home the crust under the cheese was Burnt, to the point that you could see it through the cheese,I never had that happen anywhere. How someone can do that is beyond my understanding, apparently someone was not paying attention, there was a football game on the TV , I guess that was more important. The pizza was so bad that we could not eat it, it will be going to the compost so the critters can enjoy it (they'll eat anything) I live 10 miles away so to take it back I would have had to drive 20 miles, not worth it. I had been meanging to go to this place since it opened last year. Tried once in January but because of it's location atop a hill (overlooking Boscov's East) the ice and snow made me turn around. When you walk in there are fully stocked beer coolers. They have a great selection of take-out microbrews and domestic six-packs, all of which were very reasonably priced. Straight ahead is the kitchen (and brick oven!). To the right is the dining area and bar. I decided to take a seat at the bar. I was pleased to see that they had the entire family of Yuengling products on tap. I ordered a Lord Chesterfield Ale. I ordered one of their locally famous brick oven pizzas with salami. I got this tip from another foodie who posted on the merchantcircle site. Glad I went for it. Crust was perfectly thin, slightly charred, and the salami was not too greasy, even though I thought it might be. The saltiness of the salami was a nice completment to the tang of the sauce. Bartender seemed a bit distracted and didn't seem to have much of a sence of humor. Restrooms were run of the mill. Restuarnt was clean and pizza was spectacular. During the week day lunch hours, you could face a swarm of other people if you want to grab a slice to go. There's a bar with tvs. There are sit in booths some that are padded and some without. This is a good local pizza place in Reading. It is tucked away back by the Fox Theaters in Exeter Township, and parking can be a pain in the but, however there is plenty of it. You may just need to walk a bit of a distance to and from your car. The pizza here is pretty standard across the local pizza places, until I found they make a true Chicago deep dish style of pizza. This thing is amazing (see picture). They start with the dough, which is practically a bowl, then they top it with cheese and pepperoni, followed by a sauce. I am not from Chicago, and I have never been, however I know people love the Chicago deep dishes and if they are like this one I can see why. If you order this be prepared to wait (it is about a 30-40 minute wait time depending on how busy they are). As long as they have this on the menu I will keep coming back. They also have very delicious cheese fries, if you are like me and love potatoes and cheese (it is a cheese sauce). The cheesesteaks and hoagies are OK, I have had much better, however in a pinch they will do. The pasta dishes are good as well, and they give you a good amount for the money you will spend. The beer selection is very large which makes this place a preferred stop if I am debating on another mom and pop pizza shop. As far as other reviews that mention a brick oven, I think it is a faux brick oven. A real brick oven is a wood fired brick oven, this is still just an electric commercial oven with a faux brick facing. I will look closer the next time I am in there though. read more

My husband went there yesterday to pick up our food. First off, they forgo to make our pizza!! Its in the name...pizza!! So he had to wait. NONE of the employees were wearing masks!!!!!!!! Also, they were allowing dining in and people to sit at the bar, which is currently not allowed. Then my husband had to ask them to remake our wings and fries, since they had been sitting out for at least 10 mintues. We had not been there in over a year, and this just reiterates to me why. A business that flaunts precautions that are in place to help prevent the spread of an infectious disease is not a place i will ever go to again!
