In town and wanted to try some Italian. Came in after lunch about 3 so only employees in the restaurant. Ordered lasagna and it came with a salad, bread and a drink for about $14. . It was somewhat awkward with the employees sitting in the bench as I walked in but the hostess was quick to jump up and get my order. I picked any beverage from the cooler as I chose a seat. My "ginormous" salad and fresh hot were out within minutes. The cook jumped out from the other beach and immediately made my lasagna. The restaurant was small but I expect that from a mom and pop business. All the food and service were great and deserve a 5 I gave the 4 just because of the awkwardness. I will visit again once I'm back in town but will go during a normal lunch. read more

Needed to try a new place. Paolo's Restaurant & Bar has been messing up with orders and having a hair in my sandwich was not sitting well. So, wife had a chance to try some of their pizza at her job and thought it good. Tried their grandma pizza. It was ok but way too much basil. Tasted that till the next day. Need to really go back and try the sandwiches. Pizza I'm not impressed. . read more

Stopped in twice this week for 2 different meals. I have not been here in years as it is a little out of the way for me. I had a meat lovers stromboli that was just okay. The meats were not diced, and it was a bit over cooked, so the covering was charred. 3 out of 5 for the stromboli. I also ordered a grandma pizza which was better. 4 out of 5 for the pizza. I was expecting the crust to not be as doughy. I'll be back at some point, but it won't be my go-to spot for either meal. Family owned and operated which I like. read more

My son and I had an Italian sandwich and fries. Everything was good and delicious. We sat in the restaurant and it was nice. Service was good. read more

Yuck! Terrible. New owner doesn't know how to run a business. I tried placing an order online and it was "turned off" by their website, so I had to call the store for them to turn it back on. They weren't that friendly. Anyways, selected some pizza and picked a designated time to deliver. They delivered 45 minutes early, way before our party. And guess what, the pizza was cold! Unbelievable! Pizza was not that good and tasted like cardboard. I would stick to getting pizza from paradise by the slice. read more

Service is terrible. We got there on a Sunday night unbeknownst to us it was close to closing. We were standing looking at a menu thinking about ordering the lady said are you gonna order or what? read more

I would not get pizza from anywhere but Santino's (Tino's) growing up and struggled to find good pizza after they changed. Paparone's has now taken that spot. BEST PIZZA AROUND!! Service is always great and the ambiance is a fun Italian home. I will be getting my weekly pizza here!! read more

The pizzeria that time forgot. Paparone's has been around for as long as I can remember. Definitely since the 1990s. Ok, just checked. They celebrated their 25th anniversary back in 2017. So they've been doing business since 1992. And you know what? I don't think they've updated their décor the whole time. It's still this hole-in-the-wall establishment. Looks like a dive bar from outside. The inside features grey stucco wall adorned with wooden pizza peels of various sizes. Silly me never tried the pizza here. Judging by the pictures from other diners, it looks great and is in the style of NY slices - big & floppy - the kind you have to fold in order to make things manageable. I pivoted and took a different route - chef salad, Italian sub, and a couple pasta dishes. Chef salad was massive. Black olives were a nice addition. Extremely generous with the meat/cheese. Rolled up nicely and sliced, making for convenient, bit-sized pieces. Italian sub was par for the course. Neither memorable or forgettable. It just "was." Kinda like, "We're going to put the Italian sub on our menu, because we're a pizzeria and we have to." I have no qualms with that. It satisfied my urge for Italian meats. The pastas are where things fell of the rails. Just a splatter of ho-hum sauce ladled onto rubbery, overcooked pasta. Both dishes were a notch above what you'd typically find in a hospital cafeteria. Really just a slog to eat. And eating should never feel like a chore. Gonna probably give Paparone's another shot. The pizza potential alone will get me back in the door. Until next time. read more

Fantastic family owned restaurant. We love the pizza and the service is always friendly too!

I absolutely love pizza so when I saw the good reviews I had to have some. After a few weeks of longing for it, I finally made my way down Penn Ave to try this pizza. Love that they have pizza by the slice, which is just what I wanted for my first time. Here's what I ordered: -Slice of Cheese Pizza ($2.25): was actually really good. They heated it up for me when I first ordered but I got home and needed it reheated. It was even good cold. I know if I order a whole cheese pizza it will be bomb. -Slice of Pepperoni Pizza ($2.75): eh, just okay. They make all cheese pizza and if you want pepperoni pizza they just add pepperonis to the already baked pie and then warm it up. I know it would taste different if the pepperoni was baked in with the cheese and crust. I also do not like the type of pepperonis they use. The ambiance is cool. There was an Italian game show on the tv very loudly but it gave the Italian feel to it. Very small shop but they have room for dine-in booths, beverage cooler and refrigerator for desserts. I will definitely go back to try a whole cheese pie & maybe a dessert or two to determine if they deserve that extra Yelp star. read more

Paparone's Pizza & Restaurant - Slice of cheese pizza and slice of pepperoni pizza - Pizza Near Me - Reading, Pennsylvania

Not great. Very average food. Pizza less than average. Nice server. No reason to return.

They have the best New York style pizza in the area. Consistent, delicious sauce and crust, friendly service, generous toppings. Crave-worthy! read more

Ordered a tomato pie with fresh mozzarella & basil with a side of onion rings and it tasted amazing. The delivery guy was nice and on time.

Pizza is perhaps my favorite food in the entire world. I have lived in places with good pizza (Chicago!) so my standards are high. Fries are also important to me. I want a nice cheesy pizza with good crust and fries that are better than what I can throw in the oven for a freezer bag. Paparone's is my go to in this area. I love their regular pizza, buffalo chicken pizza, and the Sicilian pizza. The crust is light and chewy - the perfect texture. And their fries are delicious, especially the cheesy ones. It took me a while to find this place (they are a bit off the beaten path) but they are my first choice now. read more

This is the best pizza place in town! Everything is always made fresh to order and they have no issues with mods and allergies. The fresh baked bread for sandwiches is everything, and my daughter often requests just loaves of bread lol The have the best cheesesteaks and chicken parmigiana sandwiches around, and the bone in wings are perfectly crunchy and not too small or too big. Their pizza is the only one my kid will eat from anywhere and even though it's rather simple, it's done well with good sauce, a crispy crust with a slight chew, and good amount of cheese. Right on par with real NYC pizza. You also shouldn't skip the tiramisu if it's available! (It goes quick!) I can't say enough good things about this place and my whole family eats here at least once a week, the family who owns it are wonderful and really care about the food they are selling and their customers and we will never eat any other pizza place as long as we live in the area! Also, ignore the vegan Karen in the reviews. They aren't mind readers, but if you ask for no mayo or no sauce or anything like that they always follow your directions! I always get my wings sauce on the side because it's too spicy for some people and I love it and in the past year I've been going here not once has my order been sauced. In fact the ONE mistake I ever had with an order in all that time was MY fault (ordered online) and they still fixed it for me anyway. read more

Hey there Paparone's. I was in high school , at Wilson when they opened. All the kids would always say "hey we're going to Paps" and I never went. Now, 30 years later (christ I'm old) I finally decided to try Paparone's. First of all, I want to say I only tried them , because they were on Door Dash, and our normal place apparently decided they weren't delivering to us, 10 minutes from their storefront. I'm beyond glad we did. This is the BEST pizza we have had locally. The crust is insane. Like, i don't really care about the rest of the pizza, because if the crust sucks, the pizza sucks, but this crust was super... dense and flaky all at once. I know that sounds weird, but trust me, it works better than i ever expected it would. The crust has a great dark layer and a super soft inside. Sometimes crust is hard to chew, but not this one. We got a regular pie with 2 toppings and a grandmas. The grandmas was fine.. not enough garlic for us, but it was fine, but again, the crust... wow! The regular 2 topping pie was insanely delicious( a little sloppy but I'll blame that on the DD driver hitting hard turns) . My only gripe is the fries were shitty frozen crinkle cut.... The website had "hand cut fries" but apparently if you add cheese you just frozen ones. I would have given them a few minus points for the fries, but the crust/pizza was amazing, so I'll leave them at a 5. read more

Very friendly with prompt service and good, above average-sized pizza. Lunch time specials w 1/2 sandwich or 2 plain pizza slices, plus fries and fountain soda for ~$7. This is a good deal, especially with the additional fries, something you dont typically get with similar lunch specials from other pizza/sandwich places. They also have a large selection of beers for drinking in or taking out. Large seating area suitable for most group sizes. Private parking lot. TVs on the wall. Hours are incorrect on Yelp, generally open 11am - late 7 days a week read more

The way pizzeria pizza should taste. Every order has been fresh. Staff is friendly. Highly recommended!

I was really hoping the food would be great like the waitress, but unfortunately it was just average. The cheesesteak lacked cheese even with the request for extra, lasagna was pretty watery, and pizza was greasy. The bacon cheese fries were excellent as were the jalapeño poppers. Also had fried mushrooms that were good. The building is pretty run down, but clean. read more

Great family owned place they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and the food is outstanding. This is a great Italian pizza. I would have to say this is the best pizza for not being from this area originally bfrom an area that was Italian. This is authentic without the Italian attitude. No 24 contract. read more

Always great food and service! Vinny and family have a hidden gem! The pizza and sandwiches are amazing.

Stopped in with a group of five on a road trip and met the friendly staff of paparone's pizza! We got the bruschetta., Veggie Sicilian, and fried eggplant pizza. Best crispy Sicilian crust and such delicious eggplant. I left my wallet at the end of dinner and they took the time to look through the table and even go outside to see if I dropped it! They are mailing it back and I am so grateful. Such great customer service. Will definitely go back next road trip! read more

This place is unbelievable. Truely Italian from the moment you walk in the restaurant to the first bite. Initially I wanted to try their Tomato pie pizza. I have not had good tomato pie pizza for many years. I found it at Paparone's. I am so glad I found this restaurant and I highly recommend it to others. A local favorite. We love the pizza and the meals. Always feel welcome when we have a mea or pick up food. You won't be disappointed!

Always good food. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Have been coming for years and will continue to!

This is our go to for take out. The best meatball parm in Berks County. It has a Lightly toasted bun and tastes the same every time. The fresh cut French fries are always hot and delicious. The fries are like boardwalk fries so so good. Another classic is the cheese pizza is always full of cheese each time. Highly recommend Paps. read more

This was easily the worst pizza I've had. Zero taste. The delivery driver also just put the food on the front step without ringing the bell or notifying me the food was there. Not too Shabby. A very nice family owned restaurant that serves food and Beer. You can grab a 40 of Yingling from the freezer. For Sinking Spring this place is a solid 4 stars. We had the lasagna, 2 slices of cheese pizza, and a cheese steak. Paid $28. The Pizza is a solid 4 star pizza. Not a robust sauce but good. The bread is some of the best pizza crust I've had. Crunchy but not too crunchy. The crust was not to be left behind. The lasagna was made with fresh ingredients and had a few hidden slices of prosciutto that surprised us. If we ate pork I'm sure it would have added to my(already) favorable impression. The lasagna was solid and a good, go-to lasagna when you don't want to make one. The lasagna came with a salad and fresh hot bread (my oh my the fresh bread) The cheesesteak gets my only criticism. It was a good, flavorful, cheesesteak if you are not used to a Philly cheesesteak. They have their own flavor that is good but not what I was looking for. A solid four stars! I'll be back for the pizza and bread. read more

Best Takeout pizza around. We order takeout from here a lot and it's consistently great pizza.

Paparone's is a staple in sinking spring. They have been in business since I can remember and the food is always great or even better the next time. When in doubt just a good old plain NY style pizza is a sure bet, for this town I would give it a 9.1 (extremely high score if you know pizza rankings) hope they stay around for many more years!!! Great job! read more
