We were spoiled with Mexican food in San Diego and have had a hard time finding a killer place around here. Stopped by for a late lunch and enjoyed it. The husband ordered a steak burrito, the tortilla was good- tasted pretty fresh. I ordered the lunch plate with chicken, steak and pork carnitas. The chicken was really good, steak and pork was a little too fatty for my liking. Salsa was nice and spicy. Will come back again!

    Govenador with al pastor

Best tacos in Louisiana, gulf coast, US? Ahah it really is an amazing taco truck. They are currently switching spots between the movie set and the valero gas station. So if you don't see them at the gas station then go to the movie set via google maps. Make a right by the gas station then keep driving until you see a large fence. My favorite is the govenador (mini quesadilla) for $3 with Barbacoa. Their al pastor and chorizo is good too!

Salty Jax Seafood - Lobster Rolls

I finally tried Saltie Jax at Crave Food Hall in Ocean Springs, after spotting them on social media…read morea few times. This was my first visit to Crave, and it's a nice setup with a few different eateries. I went for their "Crabster," a lobster roll with some crab and a special sauce. The price was $38, which I'd already expected, and I felt it was a pretty fair one-time splurge. The lobster was good--definitely a solid portion, though not the most life-changing bite I've ever had. It came with a side of potato chips, which.... eh. Overall, it was a good experience--something fun to try, especially if you haven't had a lobster roll before. The food hall itself didn't completely wow me, but it was a nice spot. I'd give the lobster roll 4 stars--worth a visit, but probably not a frequent go-to for me. The service was friendly...

When we arrived Saturday night, there was already a line! Make sure to check out their Facebook page before you go for updates. I got the Connecticut Lobster Roll and hubby got the Cajun Lobster Roll, both came with chips. First bite-- HEAVENLY!! The lobster was perfectly warm and buttered, and the roll it sat on was nicely toasted and slightly sweet. There was about a 30 minute wait until we got a text that our food was ready. However, we already expected that our food would take a bit of time, considering how long the line was. Overall, we enjoyed the food and had a great time inside the food hall!

Sadly, we are forced to write this review after our attempt to resolve this failed. We ultimately…read moresettled on a small refund from Shon to end the dispute, but only because we were ready to put this issue to rest. We do feel that it is our responsibility to write a review about Shon's catering so that others will make decisions that work best for their organizations. Let me first start off by saying that Shon is an amazing person with a huge heart, and is probably an amazing Chef. I say "probably" because I have no first-hand experience with her Chef leadership of cooking other than the event we just had, and it was not a good experience. We sent out an RFP to many caterers for a cancer survivor fundraising event, stating very clearly that our budget was $35/per person all inclusive. We knew that the number was a low number, but as a non-profit, we are not able to spend an exorbitant amount of our budget on catering. We normally procure food donations from local restaurants and then hire a caterer to manage the food service and guest experience. However, with the economy the way it is, we decided to try a new approach this year of having a caterer handle both the food AND the food service. We had several caterers reply to our RFP and ultimately decided to go with Fusion Eatz by Shon. This was because Shon presented herself professionally, enthusiastically and she said the cause was near and dear to her heart. As we discussed variations to the original proposal (such as an enhanced menu for our VIP experience guests) the budget was adjusted to $40/per person. Leading up to the event, Shon was extremely kind and professional and assured us over and over that she was capable of handling an event that had 500 plus guests. What we experienced were the following: 1/2 of the staff promised to us, no supervisors (including Shon - who promised us she would be on the floor making sure the guests were happy). Long lines, cold food, and TONS and TONS of food thrown away. Customers had to wait over an hour through 1 of 4 buffet lines and were offered small portions. This is why we are extremely disappointed that so much food was thrown out. We have had to field dozens of texts, calls and emails from our customers, including our VIP customers, who had a horrible experience. I would go on and on with the minutia of what went wrong, but the bottom line is that Shon revealed to us that the largest group she had ever catered was 250. Our event was just too big for her. After the event, we asked Shon to give herself a grade of A - F. She gave herself an A-minus / B-plus. It was a disappointment for us to try to figure out how she could come to the conclusion, and the only way that she could was that she was in the kitchen the whole time and was not out on the floor putting out the fires she told us she would personally manage. Our annual gala was truly ruined because of this food experience and had Shon agreed to reimburse for all the food thrown out, as well as help us figure out the horrible PR nightmare that we faced, I would not have written this review. There certainly will be excuses on the behalf of Shon as to the many things that went wrong, including trying to put the blame on us, but had she had the right amount of team members, including the three supervisors that were supposed to be there, none of this would have happened to the extent it did. Again, this is not how we like things to turn out, but in many ways I felt that if a large organization were to reach out, it would probably be best that they either avoid the contract, or be sure there are safeguards and penalties put in place for failure to deliver what was agreed upon.

A quick peak at the reviews and it sounds like Michael makes a mean cup of joe! The outside is unsuspecting, but plenty of parking. On the inside, super huge and plenty of space for individuals, couples, and groups! There's even a little kid/game corner across from the bar. The vibes are clean and casual, with a hint of locals and cozy. A very nice to space to catch up or to get some work done (although I didn't notice too many outlets to charge). The menu was simple but they also had some seasonal specials. The coffee and espresso weren't dark roast, so it didn't carry that bitterness which I liked. Honestly, it sounds like you can't go wrong with any of the menu options that they offer. I also picked up a breakfast sandwich, which could of be heated a little better. The center of it was still a bit cold, but way better than frozen. It did look like they prepare their breakfast sandwiches in house and then freeze - so kudos to that! They also sell some trinkets and other goods that you can pick up as gifts! If I'm ever in town again, definitely a stop for me. Every city can use a great local coffee shop and Sirincci is it for Slidell!
