It's my birthday so we're on vacation in Carlsbad. As a native San Diegan, Carlsbad has always been one of those freeway towns. But, my east coast hubby found a nice resort so here we are. Can't complain. I am exploiting my birthday princess privileges and insisting on brunch. Their menu was promising, and they didn't disappoint. Really enjoyed my Garden Veggie Hash and side of sausage links. There's a sign that says "Farm Fresh" and my plate lived up to it. My husband ordered Corned Beef Eggs Benedict - yikes, because I'm not a fan of runny eggs. But he was very satisfied. Jared! Come on. Shout out to our server. He was attentive, kind, proud of what the kitchen is cooking - and just overall fun. All the employees we encountered were sweet, but it was always nice whenever he would walk up. He has a laid back fun personality that exemplifies my hometown.
I tried Brunch Point for the first time today with my parents and had a nice experience overall. The restaurant has a bright, open feel with both indoor and outdoor seating, plus plenty of parking. I also noticed dogs are allowed on the patio. Our server was friendly, attentive, and helpful with menu questions. My parents both really enjoyed their meals. They ordered the Classic Omelet and the Ensenada Omelet with home style potatoes and were already talking about coming back after the first few bites. I ordered the Mexican Omelet, which was just okay for me. I would have liked the bell peppers to be cooked a little longer, and the dish could have been warmer when it arrived. That said, there were enough positives that I'd definitely come back and try more of the menu. Based on how much my parents enjoyed their food, I think it's worth another visit.
From the endless coffee refills to the fluffy French toast, every bite was worth waking up for. The loco moco was packed with savory comfort, and the country fried steak hit all the right spots. With so many delicious choices on the menu, there's something for every brunch lover. Add in the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere, and you've got the perfect spot to start your day!
I refuse to believe there are any other brunch options than Brunch Point. Because BP is the best. So good! Why get disappointed by anyone else's brunch when you are guaranteed tasty food and bev at Brunch Point?? Why? The variety! You want something sweet? They've got it. You want something savory? Have your pick! Not feeling mimosas? No problem, get the bottomless coffee. Not a coffee fan? The mango lemonade SLAPS! Bring the whole family, even your--well behaved--four legged members and have a seat on their outdoor mostly shaded patio! While I have a few go tos, I'm usually delighted when I order something new. A filling shareable is the Pulled Pork Poutine which is something I highly recommend for the protein lovers. My fiance will always order the Mahalo latte iced to reminisce on his Hawaii vacation. This most recent time I went with the Huevos Rancheros and man was I drooling! I'm pretty sure they make their own tortilla chips and salsa too! Fiance also changed it up and ordered the California Triple Decker Club sandwich. Guys, these portions are HEALTHY!!! While I can rave about the menu endlessly, what has us always coming back is the staff. This team remembers our dog by name and is the most welcoming crew in town, it's always so fun to catch up with them. I think we've been coming for over a year and it's easily become our favorite Saturday morning ritual. This place is so significant to us that my fiance even made sure we had breakfast here the day he proposed to me to kick off the day with good vibes!
We stumbled upon Brunch Point on our trip to LegoLand with the kids. Beautiful patio seating and had no problem accommodating our party of 7. Kids menu had great options and generous portions. Honey Bee Latte and Cappuccino were great. The chilaquiles were phenomenal. If you're in the area, support this place. Amazing food and great ambiance.
An unexpected treat! We found Glutenus Maximus on Yelp and were planning to go there. When we parked, we found Brunch Point and decided to give it a try first. So glad we did. (We did still go to Glutenus Maximus afterwards too for to-go treats.) We were seated immediately and the server promptly took our drink order. Our orders also came up quickly. Service was great. It was a typical loud breakfast place and the ambience was nothing to write home about but overall was enjoyable. The food was great. We all loved the homestyle potatoes. I had the Lox Benedict and it was great. My husband said the burger was good too. Definitely a good place to check out if you're in the area.
This was one delicious brunch! It was my first time here and I really had a great time. Besides my food being really tasty. The mimosas was a great addition to our girls outing. Our waiter was super cool. Very nice and funny which made our time there fun! I got French Toast, Bacon, Hash Browns and Eggs. I left nothing on the plate because it was all so yummy. They have an indoor and outdoor patio, but I prefer their outdoor because it is super cozy!
I ordered the eggs & NY steak (medium rare) after the waiter specifically promised a 1.5"-2" cut. What arrived was a 1/4" thin, well-done piece of meat - closer to carne asada than a NY strip. The potatoes were overly fried, too crunchy, and practically guaranteed to cause digestion issues. The atmosphere was worse than the food. A neighboring table was belligerently drunk and loudly using the N-word; instead of addressing it, my waiter and another staff member joined in, high-fiving them and encouraging the crass behavior. It was incredibly unprofessional and unwelcoming. To the waiter's credit, he told me not to pay, but the misrepresented steak, hard potatoes, and the toxic environment made it a total loss. I left feeling disappointed that this is how a business chooses to operate. It was a nightmare of a breakfast. Needs significantly more "New York Strip" and significantly less "public disturbance with attitude."
Both plates came out incorrect and tasted like no seasoning at all. Im not sure what they did to the New York steak hash but it was not edible. Could only take 2 bites before asking if this steak was boiled. The server was nice but the service over all is incredibly slow even though it was not busy. The un cleared tables next to us did not get bussed the entire time we were there. Flies surrounding us eating food scraps sitting on a table that were there before we got there. Wife tried to order a smoothie and the waitress said they don't have fruit today, 10 minutes later they sat a man next to us who ordered a smoothie with another server, just after telling us they don't have fruit. I genuinely cant remember a worse brunch experience than this.
Over all this place is cute. Nice open concept. Love the bottomless coffee bar. The apple cinnamon pancake rollup has great flavor. Potato's were a little cold but over all food and service were good
I've seen this restaurant pop up on my yelp for a while. We happen to be in the area and decided today was the day to try it out. We were seated right away. I decided to try the biscuits & Gravy, my daughter got the stuffed French toast and my husband got the Chilaquiles Verde. The food overall looked good and appealing. My daughter and husband liked their meals. But I didn't like my food. The hash browns were warm not hot. They were not crispy even though they looked like they were. I asked for my 2 eggs to be over easy. And I got one over easy and one over medium. I asked the guy who brought out my food for a new ketchup bottle because the one on our table was empty and for some cholula. He brought out the ketchup right away. But he walked around looking for a bottle of Cholula. Gave up and walked away. Never to be brought out. I looked over to the next table and just asked them if I could use the bottle they had on their table. But I was irritated that the guy just walked away. My biscuits were nice and soft. But the gravy. I didn't like the flavor of the gravy. I was expecting a pork sausage gravy. This was more of a Kabasa sausage gravy. It had a strong flavor. And I just couldn't get into it. I also noticed right away the gravy wasn't enough for the size of the biscuits. The gravy was thick. They also had a self serve coffee area. A line of thermoses with different coffee flavors. I got a cup of coffee and knew right away it was not hot enough. The coffee was lukewarm. I had asked if they can brew a fresh pot of coffee so it was hotter. But it never happened. Our server was nice. But he was all over the place. He was so busy. Overall my thoughts on this restaurant are. The food and coffee need to be hotter coming out. All the workers need to come together and ask the tables if they need anything especially if there are only 2 waiters. The waiters needed help.
Loved this spot here! The customer service was friendly and helpful. The coffee is self serve but the quality is delicious. The food was tasty, flavorful. The ambiance was pretty chill. Lots of tables and they have outdoor seating. When I come back again and I will definitely again.
Well, I happened to be in the area and I needed to find a place to take my mother in law to treat her for her birthday. Searched up the area nearby and there it was Brunch Point. We showed up and we had the option of eating inside or outside. Seems like outside was the winning option for most of the people that arrived. This spot is definitely laid out in a spacious manner! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and were told we can pick anywhere we'd like. Jared was our server and he was on it! My MIL had to take a call so he made sure to come back with waters but waited til she was done to ask about what we wanted to eat. Prior to that he mentioned the self-serve coffee bar with a ton of options. I prefer my coffee cold so I had to ask if getting a cup of ice was an option and it was. Honestly, this menu may look small but man they have options!! I opted for my protein packed steak and eggs which was superrrr juicy and asked that my hash browns be extra crispy. As and you shall receive!! My MIL got the chicken fried steak and eggs, she let me try a bite and OMG that gravy was yummy I have a sweet tooth and since Jared mentioned the BP French Toast I could not help myself! Definitely a phenomenal option for a sweet tooth! Oh and one thing that stuck out to me was before we left he said dont forget to take yourself a cup of coffee to go. For me, SAY LESS! The coffee was sooo good! Ill definitely be coming back. I told my mom about this spot the same day I went.

Weekday Lunch today though the breakfast menu is large. Lots of seating options, inside and out. Not very busy so server very attentive to me. The wrap had chicken, turkey, bacon, avo and more. It was delicious. I upgraded to the sweet potato fries: excellent choice- cooked perfect and tasty. Portion size is good. Highly recommend this place. read more

A+ Brunch Spot! Everything at Brunch Point was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I had the omelet--perfectly fluffy, packed with fresh ingredients, and cooked just right. My wife went with the breakfast tacos and couldn't stop raving about the flavor and how fresh everything tasted. Our kid got the Nutella waffle, which basically disappeared in minutes--huge win there. The service was friendly and fast, the vibe was relaxed but lively, and the food came out hot and beautifully plated. You can tell they really care about what they're doing here. Definitely one of our new go-to brunch spots! Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a great brunch with something for everyone. read more

A wonderful hidden gem!!! Once inside, you will feel at home because of the aroma of the food and the friendly atmosphere of other diners having a great meal and enjoying the company. Our Hostess welcomed us warmly and was so attentive to our needs. The ample menu selection made it difficult to select what to enjoy. Decided to try the Daily Special which did not disappoint!!! Fresh, delicious and tasty was the Stuffed French Toast!!! I highly recommend. Self-Serve Coffee Bar has awesome selection and is bottomless. Will return to try other items, especially the Loco Moco!!! read more

I certainly enjoyed this place as we were having brunch yesterday. They had plenty of choices on their menu and the food was good. I had the corn beef, that was delicious but felt they could have perhaps increased the servicing size a bit. I felt like I had more potatoes as filler on my plate. The lox bagel was good and their chicken sandwich was delicious. I'll definitely be back there again as I'd want to try the other items on the menu. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out. The waitress was young and tried her best, she was chatty - decent service. We will be back. read more

All you can drink coffee? Say no more! Perfect wake me up breakfast spot. They have delicious breakfast and their sauces for chilaquiles is great. My favorite is the huevos rancheros! Kid friendly and the staff is very welcoming. With the breakfast options and warm hospitality, it feels like home. read more

I really wanted to like this! The tuna was flavorless and bread was soggy. It's almost as if they forgot the sandwich included pickles and threw them into the container last second as a garnish. Not to mention, this salad was a $2 up charge. Did they run out of ingredients and use the tuna sandwich filling as a substitute? Dissatisfied is a generous description. read more

Wednesday morning went in for breakfast/brunch. We had a choice of tables Inside or out. Nice attentive service. Ordered the Stifferd French toast on specials menu & a Ube Iced almond latte and a Mexican Mocha with huevos rancheros (sauce on the side - recommended b/c it is Very spicy). Good presentation great flavor. No complaints about the service for the food. Our only complaint is that the AC was on high and we were both cold in the middle of July on a sunny summer day.. they have a nice All you can drink coffee or a tea bar for and now hav e a dinner menu with pastas - few vegan options. read more

This is hard to write. I had been wanting to come here for a while now but had not had the chance until today. Another friend wanted to try it too because she plans events for her women's coffee group and she was hoping to bring them here. I arrived and was seated quickly. My server Jeremy (according to the receipt) was great. He kept checking to make sure I didn't need anything while I waited for my friends to arrive. The menu has a lot to choose from and even after looking at the menu the night before I was having a hard time deciding. I decided on a Benedict with potatoes and my eggs medium. My friends got the Florentine Benedict with fruit, and an omelette with tomatoes, feta and avocado. She is very allergic to mushrooms so she made sure to ask for no mushrooms with an explanation. The food took a while but we just chatted and caught up. Jeremy checked on us a few more times. Finally our food came. My first bite was lukewarm warm at best, my potatoes were crunchy from not being cooked all the way and my eggs were runny (not medium). I was hungry so I continued eating until I found a piece of egg shell in my eggs. I pulled it out and tried the other egg, an even bigger piece (see photo) was in that one. At that point I didn't want anymore. My friends Benedict was also lukewarm. Luckily my friend with the mushroom allergy got her food with no problems. They did forget her toast then at the end tried to give it to us to go. When Jeremy came back I showed him the pieces of egg (see pics) and he took my plate away to show who ever needed to see it. He came back and apologized saying they would offer us 10% off our total bill. Really? My food wasn't even half eaten. Pretty disappointing. The table next to us was asking their server for Something and she just walked away, they had to call her back. The table behind us had their order wrong and had to send back one of their Plates Not sure I'll come back here and if I do definitely not for breakfast and my friend will be taking her women's group elsewhere unless the reviews improve. I really had high hopes for this spot despite the mixed reviews. read more
The food was just OK. We came in during lunch, it wasn't that busy. Services a little bit slow. Parking wasn't an issue. They have a cool coffee bar where you can sample different types of coffee. They have outdoor seating. They have a line of unused refrigerators. The doors open and close on occasion when they open and close doors on the other side. Which is not a big deal, but it can probably annoy some. read more

Never knew this place was in that little plaza. Super nice little area , the moment we walked we were greeted with a smile . We had a group of 7 they also have outside seating which the weather was perfect for it . They have cocktail drinks so we had a few some margaritas and the pina colada was pretty good as well . The meals were pretty decent size but still good enough for a quick bite. The service was great our arrived was very attentive loved it. read more
I went with two others around 10am on Saturday morning. It was not busy so we didn't have to wait to get seated and our overall service was good. The food was good too, a regular breakfast/brunch spot. I would recommend for large groups and/or if you just want to go out to eat. read more

Husband ordered a mimosa and then beer. They appear to he underhanded and a bit overwhelmed. We were served by a young server who appeared a little clueless. But Jorge - his colleague jumped in to save the day. I ordered a Pina colada. Whilst my husband's mimosa came out quite quickly. My Pina colada came out only after his is completely consumed. My Pina colada was not great. I didn't get the taste of a regular Pina colada. It felt very diluted. Perhaps I should have changed my selection when my initial server looked a little shocked that I had ordered one when it was on the menu. He hadn't realized that it was on the menu at all. For food my husband had biscuits and gravy. And honestly that didn't taste great. It was doughy and felt a little undercooked and had no flavour to it. It also had no sausage taste. The eggs were really good though. They did apologize for this and took it off our bill. My Loco moco had a good sauce but the rice felt a little hard and dry. Like it was cooked some time ago and left in the rice cooker for awhile. The sausage patty was nicely charred but also very tough. The sauce was wonderful though. Eggs were also perfect. The orange slice and strawberry slice as garnish was not bad. The place is nicely decorated and this place has potential. Perhaps, they could reduce the menu to really focus on a couple of dishes to improve. Jorge's service was great. His quick jump in to help his younger colleague was smooth. Thank you jorge! We may come back in the future. Just not so soon! Wish them all the best read more

Food was ok. My husband built his own pancakes that tasted alright. Home fries were not good at all. It was just poorly made, dry, and tasteless. Benedict is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch items and what I had here was the worst I've ever had. It was dry, eggs were overcooked, hollandaise sauce was thick and dry and not enough, some of the lox were black ish, and muffins were chewy. Caramelized onions and capers dominated the taste. Those are unnecessary additions for lox benedict. Service was good at first but once our food arrived, our server didn't come to check on us. I wanted to ask for more sauce but she wasn't around even though the place was empty. We however still left 20% tips because she took care of our request for baby food items really well. We won't be going back though. read more

This place is amazing! It's such a hidden gem. We ordered an ube latte and mahalo latte (macadamia w coconut). And there was a Wednesday special which I ordered, a stuffed French toast! It was delicious and included 4 slices. My sister ordered the chilaquiles and she thought it was just the right amount of spice and flavor! We will definitely go back, next time we'll go for their Friday special which is a CA breakfast burrito! read more

If I could give this place a 0, I would. I have allergies that can cause anaphylactic shock, specific dietary restrictions and of course, things I just don't like. I ordered something I knew I could eat, would stay away from my allergies and didn't have anything I knew I wouldn't want. Now that being said. I was unaware the dish had mushrooms. When they brought it out, I quickly gasped and asked them politely, "Oh this dish has mushrooms?" They stated yes and so I asked them if it was on the menu. They told me multiple times and assured me I was just "blind to seeing it." I asked them for the menu where it did not state that the dish contained mushroom! Graciously they took it back and told me they would remake it. They bring it back and instantly, I find tiny shreds of mushroom. I assumed it was from the pan, but it didnt phase me because they had stated they would remake it. Then I found a whole mushroom and many other bits. The server came over and I asked him. Hey, I ordered my dish without mushroom, and was told xyz. His exact response was: "Oh, the owner/manager gets lazy and just picked them off." In what world is it ok to fabricate stating that you would remake my dish and bring back the same dish? I asked him, you have to treat every food adjustment per the consumers request as if it were an allergy. I'm deadly allergic to maple. I told him this previously when we were ordering. I asked him, "If I ordered pancakes, would you wash them off if I told you I was deadly allergic to maple syrup?" He then stated no and so I asked him, then why is there still mushrooms on my plate? Food and health safety regulations are so important as someone who is vegetarian and has allergies. The comment on the manager being "lazy" does not cut it. It makes me wonder, "Do they cross contaminate food?" read more
The food was amazing. Everything was cooked wonderfully. The service was highly lacking. We had to constantly go up and ask for stuff and when we did they treated my husband like he was invisible after standing there right in front of them in clear view. They just did the very bare minimum. Brought us our drink and food after waiting a while to even order. Our table and chairs were dirty, mind you we were the first ones in the restaurant right at opening. read more
The service was really good, was able to be searched right away during peak brunch hour on a Saturday, so that was nice. I'm not sure if they had AC, but it was rather warm inside. They had fans in the ceiling, but didn't have them on...which was odd considering it was an extremely hot day. Otherwise, food was decent, may return on a cooler day, and check out their patio. read more

Super cute brunch spot. I have to agree with the other reviews - the scrambled eggs and home style potatoes were very bland but nothing like some salt and cholula can help. We ordered the kids mini pancakes for my daughter and they were HUGE ! They were normal size and very fluffy. I ordered the breakfast tacos and OMG SO DELICIOUS!!! BEST breakfast tacos I've had so far! My husband was obsessed with their Mexican Mocha (he had it hot) and I loved their Horchata Latte (got it iced). We noticed that they had a coffee bar (for hot coffee) and it's $4 for unlimited refills. Husband also ordered their cinnamon waffles and he absolutely enjoyed it. Only thing is that there's only 1 restroom (1 female and 1 male) so there was a bit of wait . Other than that we really enjoyed coming here. Definitely coming back ! read more

This was my second time having Brunch Point in Vista, CA -- first time dining in. We sat outside which was a cool vibe cause there was plenty of shade. The patio was fenced and private which was nice. Out server was kind and patient. I ordered the Ube Latte with oat milk because I wanted a coffee alternative. It's made from with purple yams which is not caffeinated. It was sweet and tasted like a blueberry ice cream. My Brunch Point American meal was filling. I added tomatoes and avocado to my order. The bacon was crispy, and they gave a generous amount! I also substituted the bread for gluten free bread which wasn't dry at all. My son had the Apple Cinnamon French toast (was warm and sweet) and the Lox Omelette (not pictured). He liked both. I would definitely one here again during the rest of our trip! read more
Checked this place out for breakfast with a friend. Was seated right away. Noticed they had a coffee bar set up that appealed to my friend. Took a while for our orders to be put in but once it was received our food came out quickly. Got the avocado toast and ube latte. Friend opted for eggs Benedict and iced coffee. The food delivered in taste and hit the spot but unfortunately the service was lacking. read more
