I've been to Bruegger's many times, and have always appreciated their products, so when I checked their hours on their website this morning, I was looking forward to stopping by and getting some bagels and smoked salmon. The website said that they were open today between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. When I arrived, I was not pleased to find a note on the door saying "sorry we are closed". This should have been posted on the website, when I checked their hours. I would suggest that, if you might be inclined to go to Bruegger's in the future, you phone them to corroborate that they are actually open before heading to their establishment. After reading the reviews, I almost didn't bother leaving one because it seems customer service complaints here go nowhere. The food was great, and the younger employees actually working hard were friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately, the older gentleman who appeared to shockingly be the manager and the older woman working the morning of June 7 completely ruined the experience. All I did was politely ask about the status of an online order, and my family and I were met with rude, dismissive attitudes. I understand being busy, but there is no excuse for treating customers that way especially when other people are picking up your slack so you can stand still and put napkins into the bag. To top it off, the older woman made an unnecessary sarcastic comment as we were walking out the door. Great food, terrible customer service. The staff actually doing the work deserves better representation. read more

Management should consider evaluating their staff. Apparently, they have a supervisor who thinks that she is a manager when she is NOT. Nicole, the supervisor, doesn't have only poor customer service but she is downright RUDE, OBNOXIOUS, AGGRESSIVE and ARROGANT. When she was showed the pick-up time in the web/online-order confirmation to be 8:50AM, she loudly tells that the app is wrong. When asked to speak with a manager, she pointed to herself and her colleague, Edward (who is not also a manager). When I was having a discussion with the Manager, Nicole just loudly yells at me. She said that she can rudely cut in the discussion because her name was mentioned. It could be understandable that there is a discrepancy between the POS and their web/online platform. But giving the customer an attitude instead of resolving the issue shows how little does Nicole know how to be a supervisor. I am surprised that Bruegger's has promoted a person with such poor supervisory skills. I feel bad for the staff who does better than her. I feel bad for the manager because obviously she walks on him with her attitude. Nicole is very UNPROFESSIONAL and UNFIT to be a supervisor. read more

Whether it is busy (which is the case most of the times that I visit) or just a few customers, Ron sees me in the line and clarifies "the usual?" (meaning a bakers dozen blueberry bagels). Yikes, this places needs a complete overhaul. The staff seem like they have no idea what they are doing. Customers were waiting forever for their food and if anyone complains what I assume is the manager screams from across the store to the pick up area "if you want a refund we will give it to you!!" I must have Bruegger's amnesia. I go here, am inevitable disappointed, swear it off for a while, and then wander back with a renewed hope that perhaps this time will be different. It's never different. The tables are always dirty, which is interesting, considering there is rarely ever anyone in there. Without fail, there are at least 3 bored-looking kids standing behind the bagel counter acting as if they are in a competition to see who can move the slowest. It's a tight race. We all hate our jobs, kids. Get used to it. Also, pay attention to what you are doing because you regularly screw up the orders. Do better. read more

Favorite local bagel place. Sometimes it's hard to resist it when I can smell the bagels while I'm still at the gym next door. Love the variety (favorites of mine are the everything and the jalapeño cheddar bagels) and we always get a whole tub of their onion and chive cream cheese. It's different enough that it makes the trip worth it over just buying it at the supermarket. Only gripes are the lines are always quite long and you need to come early if you want a guarantee that your favorite bagel flavors are not sold out already. There is also no option to dine in anymore. read more

I am unsure if I left a review of this place but it is something in my memory of corporate greed I will never forget. I walked by another Bruegger's Bagel the other day and I recalled this incident in Milton. It was a free coffee day with a bagel, a promotion that happened in 2016. Unfortunately, the person I was with spilled that free coffee. It was because the floor was wet and there was no sign down. Right on the floor in the restaurant, unsipped. We asked for another one. The employees said "no it was free so what do you care, now you'll have to pay for another one." We walked out. All they had to do was just make another one since we didn't even drink that one." We complained to the customer service. They sided with the store and said they were absolutely not going to honor a free coffee. And we absolutely have not stepped into a Bruegger's Bagel since. Update - of course have not responded so keep the coffee. We don't live around there anyway anymore. I had ordered ahead on the mobile app: a bacon egg and cheese, bagel with cream cheese, and a cold brew that was supposed to be ready at 10:52. I had to ask 3 times for my order after 11am. I had watched people come to the counter, order, and get their order before me. I've worked in the food service industry and that's not how this business should operate. Not once did someone ask what I was waiting for. After the last time I had asked it was 11:20 and finally someone started to work on my order. There was plenty of workers (7!!) by my count and somehow this was still challenging. I asked if it was easier for me to come back there and make it myself. Just appealing to have to waiting almost 40 minutes with a new born and my wife in my car for a bacon egg and cheese, bagel with cream cheese and cold brew. By the time my order was ready I needed new ice for my cold brew. Imagine that! When I finally got home from my hour long escapade to get 3 items to eat, my bacon egg and cheese was on a plain bagel instead of a 5 cheese bagel. I'm not sure what is going on here but horrible customer service and horrible product. Just visited this location this morning (visisted many times in the past without problems) and it was easily my worst experience in any store I've ever stepped foot in.. Long story short I ordered bagels online to go (to try to avoid long lines) and walked into the store moments after, still waited in line which was perfectly fine and expected. When I got to the checkout counter I explained I had an online order and was hoping to select the bagels since it wasn't an option online (it was only 6 bagels), the girl at the counter said my order hadn't been completed and that it was no problem and asked what bagels I'd like.. a few minutes later I can hear people behind the counter talking about my order and why I didn't place it correctly in the first place.. so I walked over and explained again that I would have but it wasn't an option which is why I came into the store right after ordering and waited in line. Ronald (who seemed to be in some sort of managment position not because of his actions but because of the way the rest of the employees acted stunned and unresponsive to the situation) got upset with me and explained that they no longer give choice of bagel selection and that you get the default, I said okay and that the women at the front told me something different and that's why I had requested certain types. He said we will fix the for today order but will up charge me for it.. I said great, no problem! A few minutes went buy and they are continuing with the line but ignoring me all while employees are staring at me but still nobody else is helping me with my order (which was already paid for) so I ask if I'm still receiving bagels and if I can pay the difference still because I wasn't being helped and wanted to get going. Ronald them became extremely upset, yelling over me anytime I spoke, berating me and accusing me of not understanding what's he's explaining to me ( which I did the first time.. no problem, it's a bagel, not a huge deal at all..) and then continued to shout at me across the counter and refusing to give me my order until he was done with his anger rant.. when his anger rant was over he told the employee to dump out the bagels they already bagged for me (the ones I had requested that he said were okay) and to give me the standard bagels that he had decided or was default because he was angry?? It was actually bizarre, especially because I was totally understanding of paying a bit more for my order because of what he had explained the first time.. not sure if this guy was having a bad day or not but he totally had a freak out in the middle of the store, on camera, infront of customers and employees.. Also I did try to speak to other employees but everyone just ignored me, I'm a young female, in the middle of this store alone, being berated by an angry employee and not a single other employee did a thing to deescalate the situation.. how scary. What an insane experience, so unless you intend to be berated by Ronald at this location for simply being a customer, then I would avoid at all costs. read more

I had a horrible experience today a this location. My friends and I went around 1pm and upon ordering we were rudely told "why don't you look" from an older man who seemed to maybe be the manager after telling me they did not have the bagel I wanted. So I proceeded to walk over and try to look but I couldn't see over the glass, and then he continued to repeat they were out as if I didn't hear him or was not understanding. They were out of almost everything we wanted, but we knew that going an hour before close would be this way, but there was no need to be so rude when I asked for a bagel and the cashier didn't say anything but okay. There were three other employees all around my age who were nice and friendly when taking my order, but were also standing in front of the bagels so it was a really awkward experience and I was trying to make a decision while he continued to repeat himself. When I received my bagel all he said was "no bacon" and then I walked over and he left it behind the glass so I didn't know if it was done, and he rudely told me to take it without even handing it to me or putting it on the counter, so I had to reach over the glass and get it. Overall it was just a very rude situation when he wasn't even taking my order, and we were the only customers so there was no need to be like that when we were being nothing but nice. She kindly apologized profusely for not having capers in stock and asked if I would prefer another type of sandwich. I told her, no it was okay. I was a bit sad that there were no capers, but I thought that the service was so nice, with one missing ingredient, I wasn't going to cancel my order. Honestly, capers make the sandwich. Here's the thing. The bagels are actually quite tasty. The problem is the numbskull staff and the system they have created for ordering. SELDOM do I get what I ordered. It seems as though every time I go in there I get someone else's order. The staff somehow has the inability to hand you the correct order. As a result, when I go to indulge in what I was hoping would be a delicious experience, I end up with something I don't want and throw a tantrum in my living room. To start the food was good. We got two bagel sandwiches, the Vermonter and Bacon, Avocado & Tomato Egg White. They were a decent price, $7.19 each as choice the only one egg option. So now for the bad part. We ordered at around 11:05 online. We arrived at the store at around 11:15. We waited and waited and finally got our food at around 12:05, an hour after we had ordered. This didn't even make sense as there weren't even that many people there. There were also 5 people working. The sandwich's weren't even that extravagant so there really isn't any reason for it to take an hour. And how long does it even take to make a sandwich? Almost everything is already ready and it is simple so why did they take so long. Honestly they could've gotten so many better reviews if they improved their service. I love fresh bagels and I like Bruegger's in Boston. I've gone to the Milton Bruggers twice now. The location is good it's right off the highway and there is street parking or a large parking lot across the street. They are only open for takeout and only open until 2 PM. The first time I tried it I attempted to order what I wanted on the app however you cannot customize anything on the app like adding lettuce or tomato onto your sandwich. I tried calling to order what I wanted but no one answered so I ordered something very basic via the app. Tried it again today and same experience... No one answered the phone. I went to order on the app but it was shut off so I ordered in person. The employees could not be any more miserable if they tried. Zero customer service skills. The bagel was fair.
