Yum!!

I first learned of Bruegger's Bagels in Mpls, during grad school. It was a stretch to get a dozen, but OH IT WAS SO WORTH IT. The tender chewiness of the outside, the perfection of the inside, the flavors...well, this love of Bruegger's has stuck with me for life. Whenever we are ANYWHERE around a Bruegger's, we find a way to make a detour. We make room in our freezer (have to eat all the ice cream, DARN) for extras, and get a few dozen. We had to pick my cousin up at DTW today, and OH LOOK, not one, but two locations in Ann Arbor! We usually go to the one not on campus, but with the power outage, made our way toward campus and the Bruegger's there. (Note: paid street parking.) 2 dozen bagels later (don't worry, we have to return her to the airport this weekend), we are VERY happy with our bagel goodness. My husband always gets onion and garlic bagels. Our daughter always gets rosemary/olive oil, poppyseed, and whole grain. I absolutely LOVE the salt bagel (only on the first day; the salt, as it ages, turns the bagel sort of pruney, the way your fingers get after swimming for too long), as well as the pumpernickel. Whatever your bagel choices, know that Bruegger's, wherever you are finding them, will please your palate. A dozen is under $10, so it'll please your wallet, too. Go!

Bagel not cut well with very little cream cheese

My most recent experience here was so much better!!! The staff was kind and attentive and my food was made perfectly! I love the Asiago Parmesan bagel and it paired nicely with the iced caramel macchiato and frosted cookie. Looks like I'll be returning to this location.

Great remodel but parking is awful. I walked in on a Monday at 8am. It wasn't busy, only a couple guys paying for their order at the register. Upon entering, there is a long rope line that looks like you start at the prep station glass to order and make your way to the register to pay. The prepper was clearly frustrated having to tell customer (me) to make my order at the register. Maybe he was tired of having to tell everyone the same thing, over and over? Then why there is a long rope line, I do not know. Doesn't make a customer feel very welcome to be told upon entering - "You're doing it wrong!" by a clearly frustrated employee. Great space upstairs to enjoy your eats. Even a larger table for study group or small meeting. This place is for coffee and bagels(sandwiches); there is a decent selection of other beverages, tea and soda as well. I had a smoke salmon on garlic bagel sandwich, with chive cream cheese, add cucumbers. Order came up fast. I did learn that you must ask for your sandwich toasted if you prefer it. It's not the default. I have visited for the same sandwich before the remodel as well. I usually drive by to see if there is a spot to park and if not, skip it. This store is mostly for foot traffic. Just off North University and State Street - parking is very sparse.

All vegetables are crispy, cold and fresh. The perfect amount of cream cheese. The young lady who served me today around 10 am was very polite and very fast with my order.

Western bagel with all its goodness for the world to see

I know for sure that when I look back on college, this place will always be my #1 bagel spot. I've been coming here consistently for close to two years now, and I've been trying to make it a fun tradition to get a bagel every time before I have an exam! I ALWAYS get the Western, which costs a little less than $5, on a whole wheat or honey grain bagel. I also usually ask them to substitute the bacon with sausage for a less fatty protein option. Ultimately, the combination of bagel with egg with sausage with chipotle sauce with green and red bell peppers is the perfect way to start your morning. I've never been to another Bruegger's Bagels chain store before, but this location is definitely the place to get a consistent, scrumptious, gourmet bagel!

I've lived a whole year in Ann Arbor and l did not try Bruegger's Bagels. So, on my last day here for the schoolyear I decided to walk in and give it a try before my last final. I was impressed with the options on the menu, and I decided for the Leonardo da veggie. The presentation was nice, don't get me wrong I really liked it. However I will never, ever, pay $7.50 for a bagel and a small coffee. When he said the total, for a quick breakfast, I had to ask what I had ordered...and yup, the bagel and a small coffee. The food was good, yeah, but $7.50 for a quick to-go breakfast is just NOT budget friendly for this gal. I know a lot of people in Ann Arbor don't have to worry about that, but I like to be conscious and this just seemed frivolous and foolish - would not return nor recommend.

I got the egg, pastrami, and swiss. It was a perfect delight, albeit a pricey one for a bagel. Not much else to say.

I came in ordered right away and had to wait about ten minutes while there was still a small line waiting for their order. If I had to come back, I recommend putting an app or online order and giving yourself at least 15 minutes for pick up. This place was moderately busy and had to wait quite a bit. The layout is a bit awkward they only have window seating which is another reason I would just pick up your order and go, not a lot of room to eat inside. Also as soon as you walk in you hit the pick up window and have to make your way through a bunch of people before getting to the ordering line. Being from NY, I had to try their Reuben called a Rick's Reuben on a Black Russian bagel which is like a rye pumpernickel bagel. The bagel was solid the sandwich is just ok for 13-14 dollars only put in one slice of corn beef, the maize n blue deli across the street offers better sandwiches at a better value. I would come back for their bagel and cream cheeses, but avoid ordering in house and pass on their deli sandwiches

Sometimes there's a lot of cream cheese on a bagel, sometime not even an ounce... The bagels have gotten roughly 1/3 smaller since opening, what's up with that? At $7+ tax and tip for a bagel with cream cheese, Bo's, you have to be more consistent!! Their ice-T tastes like burnt coffee for some reason. If the owner is there, the quality is decent and the bagels are made better, but very different than when the owner is not there. ...the quality has been really bad last three times... and the owner was nowhere to be seen. Like it's two different bagel spots... Won't be back for at least 6 months. Hopefully it's better next time.

One clarifying note -- this location is now a small pickup only spot, there are no seating options inside the store. I believe the photos on the page that show seats are from a prior location. Back to the good stuff, the bagels! We picked up bagel sandwiches on jalapeño bagels one morning and I kid you not when I say these were some of the best bagels I've ever had. I will certainly be back for more! We also tried out the legendary Fragel -- it's definitely an interesting taste and more of a dessert option, but still worth a try. For me, I'll probably stick to a donut if I want something sweet in the morning, but options are always nice. Overall, good food, good service, and solid prices! I'd recommend MD Bagel Fragel for sure

I was also able to stick with my clerk (instead of placing an order and walking away to the end to wait) so I was able to make sure everything in my large order was accurate. It was! For my sandwich I got the Farmer's Eggel for the first time (scrambled eggs with diced peppers and onions along with a sausage patty and American cheese on a plain bagel) which was good and filling for just under $7. I saw an ad for a Grain Latte (mi-su-ga-ru) and was so curious how it would taste. I haven't noticed it anywhere else (other Korean bakeries), so had to make a trip just for the drink, along with their other goodies. Omg, from the first sip, I was transported back to my childhood. I used to drink the multigrain drink that would come in powder form. But this drink was elevated by the espresso. What a perfect combo! Now this latte isn't sweet, so if you are looking for sweet, this won't be the drink for you. I had my hubs try it out and said he could taste espresso with an aftertaste of the grains- not something he would order, himself. But I'm definitely going to! He ordered the pistachio latte and I could tell it's very different from other ps's I've had from Monday Coffee Club or from Yemeni coffee houses. It definitely has that light, Korean, nutty taste that isn't strong. The baked goodie, I'm happy to say, has expanded and they offer so much more than they did since my last review. They've added a few nice tables and chairs, so you don't have to leave to enjoy your pastries or coffee, unless there's no spots. Highly recommend Y if you enjoy desserts that's not too sweet.
