Brisket Sandwich
Katie G.

This review was a difficult one for me to pick between 2 and 3 stars . The customer service was awkward and unhelpful. It was 6:20 am but still at these very high prices for small bagels you expect to be helped in a friendly manner. The bagel shop is adorable and very clean. The bagels are small and overpriced. Almost $5 for 1 small bagel and cream cheese. I had the brisket sandwich for 8.50 . It was tiny , i will say it was tasty and a solid 4 stars.

Decided to visit this place for breakfast today, and I enjoyed the experience! The service was great, and on top of that, the food was really good. I ordered a classic egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich on their 5 cheese bagel. The bagel itself was really tasty, and the egg and cheese were fresh. However, the bacon was crispy, with a nice smoky flavor, adding a great element to the sandwich. Overall, it was solid! However, the restaurant wasn't very clean since they share the same building with Burger King so that was unfortunate but overall, this place is worth visiting.

Finally this joint restaurant opened in the area. The residents of Mira Mesa have been waiting a long time for Brueggars and Burger King to open. This is a shared restaurant and the drive thru is dedicated to BK. Bagels have limited hours so check the website or the window for its hours. We have tried the bagels on several occasions. I was happy that they offered chocolate chip bagels but very limited and they don't make more if they run out which sucks because my kids love chocolate chip bagels. I have tried the plain, wheat, salmon, and cinnamon sugar. All have been good. My fave is the smoked salmon bagel as an sandwich. At almost $9, the sandwich is pretty filling and the one I ate was fresh and the bagel was toasted nicely. Def recommend! The hazelnut coffee was weak IMO but I'm more of a strong, bold, and dark roast girl. There is a dark roast available but it was out and they needed to make more. Good place to pick up some bagels and if you don't feel like bagels you can just walk over to BK.

Although it's a chain, I'm excited to have a bagel shop in Mira Mesa! I got the Western Breakfast Sandwich on an everything bagel which was a filling and flavorful sandwich. I thought the bell peppers were an interesting addition to the bagel but it was all still good. There is seating inside, a large menu of pre-fixed items but obviously you can custom order too. Lots of bagel and cream cheese options as well. Located in a huge strip mall so parking is easy, attached to the Burger King.

Pastrami bagel on rosemary bagel, hazelnut iced coffee

Stopped by Bruegger's Bagels in Mira Mesa. This location is attached to the Burger King (they share a lobby). I ordered a Pastrami bagel on rosemary bagel and a hazelnut iced coffee. I love that each bagel sandwich is made to order. Pros: -free parking lot -variety of bagel sandwiches -Wi-Fi available from Burger King -staff still wear a mask -restroom available inside -there is a decent amount of seating options Cons: -n/a Tip: -not sure if it was where I was sitting but it gets cold. Bring a jacket if you plan to dine in.

My precious capers

Great bagel shop that I visit frequently. The bagels are tasty, decent size and affordable. Today I ordered a smoked salmon bagel. Drove home to realize I received a plain cream cheese bagel. I understand that people make mistakes. So I returned to fix my order. When I returned to let the manager Jennifer know my order was wrong. She had the nerve to tell me that she didn't believe me. So Jennifer took my bagel... looked through it like a private investigator. Then threw it in the trash. She then asked me what I ordered with an attitude of disgust as if I tried to scam her salmon. I was actually baffled at how she replied to me since I wasn't complaining or asking for anything extra. I just wanted my original order. I had a moment where I felt like I was being pranked, waiting for the TV crew to come out any minute with a lifetime supply of Bruegger's bagels. But nope I was wrong, it was just Jennifer making my new bagel without gloves and purposely putting 1 caper on each half of the bagel... I was lucky to have my own capers at home. It is official that I will now be visiting Donut Touch across the street. They use high quality ingredients like Boars Head. They do cost a few extra bucks but it is well worth your money.

Food: - Flat iron steak: delicious and super tendy with a nice crust. Came with an arugula salad - Fish of the day: today was rock fish with a creamy panang/thai sauce and it was DELICIOUS - Duck: my table's favorite dish. You can make your own tiny tacos and the macha chili was seriously the best thing ever - French fries: nice horsestring fries, cant go wrong - Tuna crudo: super light and citrusy and flavorful, but only like 5-6 pieces - Chicken skewers: this honestly fell really flat. Would not recommend, i'd say it's the worst thing on the menu and surprisingly fell short. Doesnt feel like it belongs on the menu. - Brussel Sprouts: really good and unique with a peanut butter sauce - Mac and cheese: yummy but nothing special Overall was a great experience but I'd probably only come here on special occasions. Their drinks were also fantastic - the cantaloupe was super tasty. Shoutout Ola for being the best waiter!

Lots of inside seating. Our waitress Allie was super friendly. We had the short rib hash & the florentine Benedict. Both were delicious and the presentation was great. Visited on a Sunday morning and they weren't terribly busy. Looks like they have music on Saturdays. Not a huge menu but good options. We found parking on the street. Try it! Super cozy here.

Lots of seating for our group, we ordered mostly "breakfast" items. I shared a Sage Chicken & Waffle Tower - which was excellent. We didn't notice much sage in the chicken coating, but it was delicious and extra crunchy. Great waffles too, with crisp bacon baked right in. The place was quiet enough to have a conversation. The texture and taste are all pleasurable. I had the banana pancakes, with two over well eggs, crispy bacon, with potatoes. I couldn't complete it all, I took my leftovers with me. The orange juice tastes as if it's fresh squeeze! The service was kind. The feel of this restaurant is home. I adore the restaurants that were once a house turned into a place of business. Something about it spiritually makes me feel a bit grounded into history. I love the fresh rosemary they place in the dish as well. Such a unique touch of earthy-love I'm just glad it wasn't a hour wait or longer how I was repeatedly warned. We got seats right away. Could've been due to the construction on the street near by. I'll definitely return whenever I'm in town.

Thank goodness there was room too, because wow oh wow. It has been three weeks and we keep talking about that happy hour. LOL I appreciated that their happy hour menu wasn't all snackable appetizers; there were smaller-sized dishes for those less hungry, too! I ordered the Kiwilango slider + fries, my mom got the HH fish & chips, and my dad got the wagyu smash slider. Plus $10 beers, of course. Everything came out quickly and beautifully portioned, which made getting dessert (magpie ice cream cake) a no brainer. Delicious!!! I didn't stray into their full Kiwi-based dinner menu, but I can fully vouch for their happy hour, the cozy, charming vibes, kind and attentive servers, and flavorful dishes. I got the shrimp salad. The quality was great but for five small shrimps and minimal avocado it was lacking in any kind of Yum Or Wow. Anyway, I do recommend their happy hour, everything on that menu is top notch, and this is a lovely place to bring your pupp to! Ask for a treat at the front! And again, 5 stars for their service.
