Passed this on my way to an appointment and was so excited to support and try a few menu items. Even vegetarians like some flavor! When I see a barrel grill outside I expect to smell the smoky grilled items or at least the smell of the food emanating from the building and I did not. I still decided to enter. It was a cute establishment that can serve both groups or just the after work solo dinner/sipper. They have opportunities for engagement with others such as karaoke weekly. The ordering process was quick and easy. I took a few items home (vegetarian patty, cabbage and plantains). Unfortunately, none of the food was anything to brag about. The cabbage was basic. Cooked well, but missing that flavor I've experienced from other Jamaican/Caribbean spots, the plantains were decently portioned. The patties lacked flavor and filling. Although the price and serving sizes matched, it was a disappointing experience. I was ready to have a spot to take visitors.

Brown stew, cabbage, and beans and white rice.

The food was so bad...mushy rice and peas, the callaloo was baby food, and the baked chicken was well coated in the store bought sauce. I also sat and waited an extra 30 minutes for beef patties which never came. Adding insult to flavor injury, this place is a hip hop nightclub! Sat there for over an hour and nothing came on but old school hip hop. I asked for my money back and the lady said "I don't know about island food but that's what trini greens look like." I hate bashing minority businesses but this place is disrespectful. Hopefully they improve drastically in order to survive but, for right now, never come here for food. Sorry...and not sorry.

Caribbean Dynasty Restaurant & Lounge - Baltimore…read more I stopped by Caribbean Dynasty for a lunchtime bite, and the owner was pleasant. The restaurant is easy to find, with close-by paid parking. I tried the sample plate with curry chicken, white rice, and cabbage. The curry chicken was flavorful and tender -- truly delicious! The cabbage was seasoned just right, adding that authentic Caribbean touch. I was a little surprised to receive white rice instead of rice & peas (which I usually expect with Caribbean dishes), so that was a little disappointing. I was expecting $18 value platter but received a ($15) value platter. It appears it may come alive at night -- with a DJ, happy hour specials, and a lounge vibe. Overall, Caribbean Dynasty offers great flavors, friendly service for a grab a go lunch order .

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were just as good. The ambiance was lively and had a great vibe, making it perfect for a girls' night, date night, or even a family dinner. The service was great, and the overall atmosphere made us want to stay and enjoy ourselves. It's one of those places that's not just about the food--it's the whole experience. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Baltimore! We wanted oxtails and lamb chops but they'd run out of both. We weren't too bummed because we came after a comedy show so it was pretty late. The only negative about the food was that it came out at three very different times without napkins nor silverware. That said, our server, Maya, was super sweet even though it seemed she was stretched thin. We didn't see many people serving tables but at some point, I think a/the chef came out to serve us as well. Just like the hostesses, our server, and the other server, he was very nice. The atmosphere was very nice, albeit loud enough that we had to read lips to talk to my handsome date. It was small and intimate and well worth the wait we had because we didn't have reservations. Nutshell: if you can't get to Jamaica, get to Jerk at Nite.

I highly recommend to make a reservation since it was busy when we arrived and throughout the rest of night. Our server, Shaniyah, was amazing! The drinks were great and all food ordered was absolutely hot, fresh, and delicious! Please get the crab egg rolls for an appetizer. The honey jerk lamb chops, salmon, macaroni and cheese, kale, and mashed potatoes are all good options to order off the menu. You will not be disappointed! Can't wait to visit again when in town! Also, please allot additional time before your reservation to find parking in that area. It was quite congested over there and street parking is a little limited since the restaurant is in a residential area.

The line was out the door--even with a reservation, we had to stand outside in the cold. And I'm anemic, so standing out there shivering felt like punishment (at this point, I'm basically an ice sculpture by the door). When we finally got seated, they put us at the table right by the entrance--every time that door opened, a breeze hit me like a slap from Elsa herself . The bar was packed too, which sucked because I would've loved to sit there with my partner and vibe. It was clear they were super short-staffed. No waitress ever came to our table--we had to scan a QR code, order through our phones, and even pay before the food came. Felt more like a fast-casual spot than a nice dinner date. Our drinks took forever and when they finally arrived, they were watered down and weak. By that point we were ready to go, but since we already paid through the mobile menu, we were stuck. It took about 45 more minutes to get our food. By now I couldn't even feel my fingers or toes. But when that food hit the table? Whewww... it slapped ‍ Everything we ordered was chef's kiss. My partner and I both agreed the food was the one saving grace of the entire experience. It was flavorful, fresh, and worth the hype. Just wish we could've actually enjoyed it. We spent a good amount of money and left feeling like we would've been better off just DoorDashing it and eating at home with some Netflix. My partner, who never complains, was genuinely upset about the lack of a server. And I get it--dining out is supposed to be an experience, not just a transaction. So overall... this is a mixed review. Food? 5 stars, no doubt. Experience? 1 star, and I'm being generous. I'll probably try them again on a super slow day (whenever that is), but as far as this visit goes, I'm leaving a 3-star rating--and that's only because the food was so good.
