We previously purchased the dirty dog discount card when we lived in Texas and went to pet supplies plus on a regular basis. We bought this card before moving and had never used it. My first trip to this location, I walked in, asked where the wash bays were, they pointed them out. I washed my dog, handed the card over at the register. They punched it and I left satisfied and the cashier gave my dog got a treat for being a good girl. This trip, since I knew where the wash bays were, I said hello to the cashier and walked directly back to get started. Got my dog inside the wash and started to prepare to give her a bath. That was, until a store employee came up to stop me and acted like I had infiltrated the Pentagon through a security breach. My "violation" was not telling them at the front register that I was there to do a self wash. This meant that they couldn't know whether the washbasin was scheduled to be used. Apparently, I also would've been given two towels at the front register if I had properly checked in. I apologized, asked them if they would like me to go upfront to start over but he declined my offer even though he was visibly irate and made no secret to hide it. Of course, no one else ever came back to use the other wash bays so the big concern about disrupting the schedule didn't come to fruition. In addition to making no secret of his displeasure, he also never brought the two towels that he indicated were part of the setup. Anyway, after washing the dog and going up front, they examined my punchcard and were very happy to tell me that since it was purchased in Texas, it would not be allowed at this location. I told them this was my second trip here and I had used it successfully in the past and they asked for a description of who it was that allowed it. Since this happened a few weeks ago and there was no drama, unlike today, I obviously didn't bother to memorize the appearance of someone who was just doing their job for approximately 15 seconds. As I was driving home, it struck me that if they cared at all about their customers they would've offered to sell me the new wash card, which would've been a substantial discount over what I paid for the single wash. I guess this store gets to be the winner today for not giving me the towels, getting full price for the wash, and not offering a treat to my dog. I hope the $10 of extra profits are spent wisely. I will try the Huntington Beach location, hopefully it's a different owner with a better customer service philosophy!

Bryan was incredibly knowledgeable, empathetic, and helpful through the whole process. Even though he's not a vet, he took the time to ask us detailed questions, observe our chameleon's movements, and help us troubleshoot possible causes. We learned so much from him, especially about improving our UV lighting setup and overall husbandry. He gave us realistic options based on the time and resources we had before leaving town, which we really appreciated. We're so glad we stopped by before our trip because we genuinely were worried our little guy might not make it. Bryan's guidance helped us feel much more informed and prepared. I usually go to Centinela for dog food and the dog wash because we get a punch card (5 washes for $70). However, Centinela's bath station closes at 5:30pm but this location's bath station closes at 6:30. They have about 5 baths, which are self-serve and cost $20 for 25 minutes. When you pay at the register, they give you a token and a collar to hook your pup to the rail so she/he doesn't jump out of the low basin. They offer a variety of shampoo, a conditioner, a blow dryer and towels. 25 minutes is more than enough time to wash our pup. No appointments necessary! Walk-ins are welcome.

This review is based purely on my experience with the self doggy wash. Having lost the Fullerton…read morelocation, this was the closest place to use my doggy wash card. I love that it's close enough to Rosie's Dog Beach that you can take your buddy here right after to get off all the sand. There were two rooms with wash stations and one area to dry the dog off with an air blower. Compared to the Fullerton location, I didn't like that they lacked drying stations, but at least there was one. It was super busy the day I took my dog (Thurday afternoon), but I was able to nab that spot and try to dry off my dog quickly since all the wash stations were being used, including the one I had just left. The wash stations seemed clean enough despite being super busy and I got everything I needed. Just be sure to ask for a short leash so you don't get yours soaked.

They even sell Smalls, which I've had trouble finding at other pet stores. Their toy selection is shy of huge stores like Petsmart, but still pretty extensive. Like others have mentioned, the location is HUGE and beautiful -- seems to be kept up well. There's a wash area with about six available stations, and a large scale by the registers which is very convenient. And of course we love to stop and look at the adoptable kitties in the back. Always a fun and productive visit.
