Prior to booking I heard a great deal about Nicck's eye brow shaping and tinting services. A few…read morefriends had gone prior to me and were always satisfied. On the day of my service I arrived a few minutes early, as to not violate the well explained and reiterated late policy. When I arrived the door was locked to create a safe environment for each client during Covid. The receptionist walked to the door, asked if I had an appointment, and instructed me to wait while a previous client's services were completed AND the area was cleaned for my appointment. I was very impressed. Mostly because it was apparent from the appearance of the neat and well designed waiting area that pre covid guests were permitted to wait inside the salon. I was appreciative that Nicck and his staff thought to adjust their standard procedure beyond what was merely necessary to keep the space clean and safe. When I came in there was sanitizer waiting, which I was asked to use by the very pleasant receptionist, and I was instructed to meet Nicck at his chair. He was very polite and asked how I heard of him and when I last received a brow service. After I answered he went straight to business and began drawing lines on my face to properly shape my brows to my facial features. I appreciate that Nicck was not dismissive of my eye brows as they were, and actually complimented their natural shape. I have experienced some artists who engage with new clients in a way meant to shame them for not seeking their services sooner, instead of allowing their work to speak for them. I did not feel like he rushed, and I could see by the look on his face that he was taking great care with attention to my brow shape. It's also worth mentioning that the wax Nicck used did not hurt, smell bad, or leave my face sticky at all. During my service we did not talk much, but that did not offend me as I respect and appreciate the need to focus when working. When Nicck was done, he handed me the mirror and I was immediately impressed! Having received the shaping only (without tint) I was doubly impressed by how full Nicck was able to keep my brows. I love the outcome and have already booked my next appointment. Thank you! You made the 5 or 6 months I did not get my brows serviced during the pandemic worth it! I look forward to my October appointment and will be recommending Nicck to anyone who inquires!

As a first time client, for him but also brow waxing/tinting in general, I was nervous. But Nicck took the time to listen to my concerns. If you are hesitating on booking an appointment - do it. You won't regret it!

I received an email and text yesterday, confirming my appointment. I get to the shop today and no one is there. A closed sign is on the door, instructing to call or go on the website. This is extremely unprofessional and frustrating as I traveled to this shop and made my appointment in advance, when I could've went to another salon. If the shop is genuinely closed due to COVID or another reason, the option to make appointments online should be removed immediately, existing appointments should be canceled, and customers should be notified. I hope this issue is resolved ASAP, so no other potential customer is left stranded and dissatisfied.

We decided to stop in after receiving a flyer because we needed our brows threaded. I asked her to clean my brows up since I had recently had them threaded elsewhere and liked the shape. She did clean them, but afterwards they were shaped differently than before and I didn't like the new shape. They are a little thinner than I prefer and I am now waiting for them to grow in more. Further, the threading experience was much more painful than usual. My girlfriend had her brows done as well and also described the experience as very painful. After we left the shop I noticed that the skin under her brow was very red. Upon closer inspection, it became clear that her skin had been plucked/broken and it was scabbing over. The services were very expensive and I wish that we had been informed of the price prior to receiving the services. To be fair, we should have asked. The store was also very very hot and we were sweating/uncomfortable the whole time. Sheenam was very nice and again, I would love to be able to recommend her services, but sadly we were not satisfied and will not be returning.

This is Edmy's business, I think she does all the appointments herself, and she is clearly a very talented practitioner. I personally don't actually love having someone touching and poking at my face, but Edmy's expertise made it only modestly uncomfortable and she did a nice job of distracting me by chatting pleasantly throughout the procedure, and before and after the uncomfortable parts there were nice relaxing parts making it more tolerable. And when it was done she really did somehow get rid of the tiny bumps on my face, I didn't even know that was possible. Oh and she was very Covid-conscious and wore a mask, which is notable at this part of the pandemic because not everyone understands the pandemic is still happening. So that was much appreciated. She gave me some good skincare advice too. I'd recommend it!

I've been coming to Valerie for at least 6 years now, and there's no one else I would trust my eyebrows to. Valerie was trained by Anastasia Beverly Hills, which is why I began going to her (I was previously driving over an hour just to get my brows done at an Anastasia salon), and I've continued coming to her for the last few years because of the amazing job she does. She used to be located at a high end local tanning salon, but since Fall 2016 has been operating independently in her own spot in downtown Center City Philadelphia. It is a bit pricer ($30) than just getting your eyebrows done at your local nail salon, but I promise you it is so worth it! Your eyebrows are shaped in proportion to your eyes & nose, all while relaxing on a salon table. Valerie even uses a magnifier to ensure she does a precise job. You can pay via cash or credit. She also does eyebrow tinting ($30), which I plan on trying my next visit! My recommendation is to give her a try, and if you've never had your brows actually 'shaped' before, grow them out for a month or two before coming. You will thank me later!

Let me say this, I normally don't write reviews; however, Valerie's talent, accommodation, beautiful craftsmanship, and overall energy absolutely warrant it! I was in Philly for the weekend for a Monday interview and I reached out to Valerie pretty late. Not only did she respond to me quickly, she accommodated me for a day outside of her normal hours. I am so appreciative of the time she took to do my eyebrows and the individual attention I received. Her studio is set up so that it is a truly a individualized and private experience. Well ladies and gentlemen I have Valerie to thank for giving me confidence to kick but during my interview. Chewbacca who? Amazing eyebrows like what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
