Prior to booking I heard a great deal about Nicck's eye brow shaping and tinting services. A few friends had gone prior to me and were always satisfied. On the day of my service I arrived a few minutes early, as to not violate the well explained and reiterated late policy. When I arrived the door was locked to create a safe environment for each client during Covid. The receptionist walked to the door, asked if I had an appointment, and instructed me to wait while a previous client's services were completed AND the area was cleaned for my appointment. I was very impressed. Mostly because it was apparent from the appearance of the neat and well designed waiting area that pre covid guests were permitted to wait inside the salon. I was appreciative that Nicck and his staff thought to adjust their standard procedure beyond what was merely necessary to keep the space clean and safe. When I came in there was sanitizer waiting, which I was asked to use by the very pleasant receptionist, and I was instructed to meet Nicck at his chair. He was very polite and asked how I heard of him and when I last received a brow service. After I answered he went straight to business and began drawing lines on my face to properly shape my brows to my facial features. I appreciate that Nicck was not dismissive of my eye brows as they were, and actually complimented their natural shape. I have experienced some artists who engage with new clients in a way meant to shame them for not seeking their services sooner, instead of allowing their work to speak for them. I did not feel like he rushed, and I could see by the look on his face that he was taking great care with attention to my brow shape. It's also worth mentioning that the wax Nicck used did not hurt, smell bad, or leave my face sticky at all. During my service we did not talk much, but that did not offend me as I respect and appreciate the need to focus when working. When Nicck was done, he handed me the mirror and I was immediately impressed! Having received the shaping only (without tint) I was doubly impressed by how full Nicck was able to keep my brows. I love the outcome and have already booked my next appointment. Thank you! You made the 5 or 6 months I did not get my brows serviced during the pandemic worth it! I look forward to my October appointment and will be recommending Nicck to anyone who inquires! read more

I had my first visit with Nicck this week. The salon is clean, bright, and welcoming. He and his staff are very friendly and kind. As a first time client, for him but also brow waxing/tinting in general, I was nervous. But Nicck took the time to listen to my concerns. We discussed what look I wanted for my brows, and he made me feel comfortable during the whole process. I am so happy with the final look, and so thankful I found this salon. If you are hesitating on booking an appointment - do it. You won't regret it! read more

DONT believe the hype . I did my research weeks before coming here and was so excited to come. Even the owner seem so pleasant and cool on social media until come to find out he's actually a jerk in person. atleast through my experience. Drove 40 minutes to for this appointment to be turned down after being a few minutes late due to not being able to find the entrance. I was on the phone with reception the entire time trying to find the entrance, I'm explaining to her what is it that I'm seeing so she knows I am in the location but it's unclear as to where the entrance is and her exact words were "please try to hurry because we do have a 5 minute lateness policy" and it was already 3 minutes into my appointment. I was already rushing stressing out to find this entrance and when I finally found it which was probably two minutes after she said that the receptionist tells me over the phone, "am sorry but we won't be able to take you" as I am coming in I see the owner Nick and I ask him like hey I literally was here this whole time I just couldn't find the way to get in and his exact words were "well we do have a 5 minute late cancelation policy so I wont be able to take you cause it would make me late for my next appointment" I booked the wax and tint so I asked him after he said that if there's anyway you can atleast clean up my eyebrows with out the tint and with out even thinking about it he said "no". I'm sorry but if your customer already paid for the full service you can atleast say as a owner I can't do the full service but I can try to clean it up or try to do what I can with the time remaining. he didn't do any of that he just walked away and instead went outside and was talking to his friends with 25 minutes left to my appointment he definitely had enough time to at-least clean up my eyebrows even if he couldn't tint them. I more than anyone understand people have their policy but as the owner of a company you have to learn to work with people. The attitude he gave you would think I was 25 minutes late for my appointment. I tried reaching out after that to see if he could atleast reschedule and he never answered. That was literally $65 down the drain that for some people is a lot. At this point is not about the money, or him not taking me it's the poor customer service and attitude from the owner himself which was very disappointing. You don't treat people who support your business like that read more

Worldwide pandemic? Same five star rating. I thought it would be appropriate to review how businesses are operating during COVID-19. Nicck Townsend and his staff were professional and very sanitary. One of the young ladies at the front desk came out when I approached the front door and asked for my name and appointment time. She said I would be called in when they were ready for me. Less than five minutes went by and I was called in. Upon entering, I was told to sanitize my hands with hand sanitizer provided by the salon. Vira (the senior brow stylist) took care of me and did a fabulous job. It was my first time getting my brows done by Vira. I definitely recommend booking her when Nicck is not available. She explained what she was doing and why she was doing it. The entire staff was wearing masks while I was there. Vira and Nicck disinfected their tools and sprayed down the chairs after each customer. The whole place was spotless, as usual. I'll continue to be a loyal client because I love having beautiful brows! read more

Sucks because I really wanted this to be my go to. Loved my first appointments where I wasn't kept waiting more than 5 mins. It was busy and I didn't mind. But there's something cruel and pretentious about being 8 minutes late, turned away and then charged. I get it. Businesses have to function. But it's rush hour and there's a 5 minutes detour off Ridge Avenue. So, never going back. Good thing there are lots of options not far. I suggest Dream Lash right down the road. Their customer service is flexible and accommodating to busy women like me. I know better next time. read more

I absolutely love their brow pencil and brow gel, but their customer service is lacking. I placed an order for two brown brow pencils and received black. I've sent several unanswered emails, called the number listed on their website but have not received any response. Very disappointed. read more

Love it here! Love the location, which easy to get to. They have a parking lot too but it can get packed quickly. Love the ambience and set up of the studio, the snacks and the packaging for purchases. All of the staff is friendly and nice. Appointments start on time and Nicck only focuses on you and isn't doing other things. The service is pretty quick, even if getting dye. I've only been serviced by Nicck twice and each time was a 5 star experience. I am very happy with my results and THEY LAST. New to the city and searching for a eyebrow spot, NT was top rated. I booked, unfortunately Nickybabe had no availability so I was ok booking with an apprentice. Reading the reviews I knew they didn't play with timing so I was sure to leave extra early. I was the first appointment for the day and was immediately ushered to my chair. Jenna (sp?), my tech, had a quick consultation and proceeded to work her magic. I was super happy with the results. I walked out feeling like a new woman...brows done! read more

It would be nice if more empathy was shown for new customers trying to learn how to navigate the area. Additionally, if possible, please consider not taking for services not rendered when an appointment is cancelled. It is already an unfortunate experience for new customers who genuinely did their best to get there. This is not feedback about Nick personally (as we did not have the opportunity to meet), just something to consider regarding customer service from one professional to another. I also don't disagree with penalizing people who are inconsiderate enough to be repeatedly late. But, a little forgiveness or empathy for new customers (who are 6 min late) might be a consideration on their first appointment. I would have loved to have learned more about Nick and his services. Update: The owner graciously reached out to me regarding the gratuity that was charged. The matter has been resolved quickly. When a company shows that they can address an issue within reason, that says a lot about their level of service and can typically satisfy a customer's concern. While I'm still disappointed that I did not get a chance to have my initial appointment with Nick, my interaction with him was gracious and worth a higher rating. Thank you. read more

Nicck provided world-class customer service and performed a miracle on my struggle brows. He was prompt, efficient, and professional. I drove from Woodbridge, VA because I am a fan of his work and he did not disappoint. His studio is clean, well maintained, and quaint. I debated writing this review, but after much thought and driving 2.5 hours getting there and 2.5 hours driving back considering it was an all day event and time is money..... I decided to write this review. My appt. was at 10:00 am. on 9/6/23. I was late, but according to their grace period of 5 minutes, I was not late for the scheduled appointment. The owner couldn't see it. Not to mention his next appt. (his 10:30 a.m.) was my sister. He still told me NO. I have bought all his products and my other sister had an appt. on 8/19/2023. Meaning he just lost three customers. I must say the service itself was top-notch. The staff here are skilled and attentive, and my sisters left with perfectly shaped brows that exceeded my expectations. However, my experience with the owner was DISSAPOINTING. While the employees were warm and accommodating, I found the owner's demeanor to be less welcoming. It would have been a more enjoyable experience visit if the owner had exhibited the same level of friendliness and professionalism as the rest of the team. Despite this, I will recommend the shop for their exceptional brow shaping service itself. If you can overlook the owner's attitude, I just can't let anyone treat me like that. I'm sorry but you have lost 3 customers. read more

Come experience an impeccable breath taking brow created by expert Nicck Townsend!! After my first appointment I did not hesitate to make a second. It has been said before and I must agree, Nicck works with a light hand and as assured as an artist compelled to create! This is more than a service. Come experience the luxury of it all! read more

I have been going here for years and it has been my go to eyebrow spot. I even got a couple friends and my mother to start going, too. Undoubtedly they do great brows, but my issue is with their late policy. I have never been late to an appointment prior, but today, Scotts Lane going up to the business happened to be closed off which prevented me from making it to my appointment on time. I was not aware of this beforehand. (Not like it's broadcasted on all the news channels or something.) Unfortunately, I was 10 minutes late due to many detours around town to enter the business from another direction. Upon arrival, I was told I could not get my eyebrows done because I was late, which I understand. I would not want to push their schedule back. The part that was offsetting to me was the fact that they took my deposit despite it not being my fault that I was more than 5 minutes late. I spoke to Vera and Nicck and received the same cold "it's in the policy" response. I will not be returning due to the inflexibility of this business to understand that sometimes unexpected things do happen. And what's even more frustrating is I've had to wait so many times on their couch because they were behind schedule, but never once complained because I understand things DO HAPPEN! If you have the money and time to spare to accidentally be late, then go for it, but I will not be giving any more money to this business. read more

Nicck is awesome, felt like I knew him all my life. I walked in with the "Nail Salon" eyebrows and left with a plan to give life to these neglected eyebrows. This salon has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I booked my eyebrow appointment using their online tool for a week later than I thought. When I got to the studio and told them I thought my appointment was today and I can't make it next week, they wouldn't reschedule my appointment to any other time. Just flat out refused to allow me to change the appointment to a time that works for me even though it was a week in advance. They did take my $65 though and told me I could rebook the appointment and pay again (to pay a total of $130 to get my eyebrows done once). I've also emailed their customer service multiple times and nobody has responded to me. Very dishonest business with ridiculous policies. read more

Terrible customer service. Never again. And I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to report this business. They're thieves. I called on 2/24 to cancel an appointment I had on 3/7. I asked about a refund of my deposit. I was told I would not receive a refund because it's "in the contract". I asked to speak with a manager and Mr Townsend called me back with major attitude and again eluding to the contract. The contract is a contract of adhesion and no-one should be permitted to keep someone's money when not providing a service. That's stealing. Any It's eyebrows after all. Its NOT that serious. But stealing from your customers is. And it will not be tolerated. read more

Nicck Townsend is an amazing artist. The best! He worked a miracle on my raggedy brows.

This past Saturday was my very first appointment and I must say I left fully satisfied! It's like they performed magic on my eyebrows, they are beautiful! My sister recommended Nicck to me and I'm so glad she did, I will never go back to the old way of brow waxing. My appointment was with his apprentice, she was so kind and gentle I almost fell asleep lol. The staff is clean and professional, no loud music, the chairs are comfortable its just peaceful. The wax is painless and left no sticky residue. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I will definitely be back! read more

I will never step foot there again. I wouldn't know how well their work is, I wanted to try them out before my wedding to see if I wanted to come back. They have a 5 minute grace period rule which is absolutely absurd. My appointment was at 4 and I got there 4:08. It's not like it's easy to find parking in that area. I wasted time to get there and my appointment was cancelled as soon as I walked in. With these type of rigid rules he won't be in business long. I will never ever step foot there and I will make sure all of my friends know on every media I have available. My problem is they didn't even care that I took my time coming there. They acted like they were doing me a favor. When you have a business, there should be appreciation for clients. I was new and it left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

AMAZING! AMAZING! When I say that Nicck Townsend is a MIRACLE WORKER! Due to over waxing and tweezing my brows hardly grow now and had no shape. I've been growing out my brows for over a year in hopes of correcting the shape and getting a fuller looking brow. After growing out my brows to the point where they could be corrected, the search for the perfect brow artist was on. A lot of the most popular brow artists (Kelly Baker Brows, Damone Roberts, Anastasia Beverly Hills, etc) are all very far from Philly lol and being a makeup artist myself I am VERY skeptical and picky with letting others work on me, let alone touch my brows so when a loyal client of mine referred me to Nicck of course I did my research. When I saw his portfolio, I had to give credit where due, I was sold! His salon so close to me which is a plus. The atmosphere is amazing. It's intimate, so chic and serene. He is clean, VERY meticulous and extremely professional. I went in for a full re-shaping and a light tinting. What would normally take 5-10 mins at your local nail salon, takes Nicck about 30-35 mins. Now you may be thinking that that's a ridiculous amount of time to spend on brows but trust me, the way he analyzes the proper shape for you face, cuts, tweeze and waxes each hair to perfection, it is well worth the time! My brows haven't looked this good...ever! LOL I hung out with my mom yesterday and she could not stop obsessing over my eyebrows. She's so excited for her appointment, she told all my aunts already lol. Even my boyfriend was surprised. The moment he saw me he noticed how great they looked and kept trying to make me admit if I had makeup on LOL... Stop messing with Mai Ling and go to a professional who can give you amazing consistent results! read more

I had an appointment and was 8 minutes late because there was so much traffic. My friend and I had back to back appointments for a half hour each and it was my first time coming. My friend got her eye brows done and it literally took 10 minutes. We had AN HOUR blocked off for two appointments for a 10 minute service and her eyebrows were a bit uneven after all of that. Because I missed the 5 minute "grace period" they wouldn't see me or transfer my deposit to another appointment. If you are busy and I'm a few minutes late that's one thing but they chose not to see me to prove a point, it was just spiteful because you have a full hour to do two 10 minute services. The staff was rude and I have never been anywhere that didn't even try to accommodate clients. Would not return. read more

Ok, so I know the pic I posted is the "after" with no evidence of what my brows looked like before. But hear me out first. I've been getting my eyebrows waxed since I was 14. I've had them thin, barely there, straight (no kidding), and more. I ended up frantically looking for someone to fix my brows after never getting consistent results at my last place (begins with Europe and end with Center). I had had enough. So, I looked in yelp and found Nicck. Let me start by saying that Nicck is one of the most down to earth people. But Nicck is also very honest. We talked about my brows and how they would need some rehab, and while I was nervous about it, what did I have to lose? At the last place, the tech told me that my hair wouldn't grow back in anyway. Well, she was as wrong as eating peanut butter and soap. I've been going to Nicck every 4-5 weeks since June and let me tell you, he's a miracle worker. For the first time, I can actually see where my natural arch belongs. The first two visits were tough, especially when he told me to wait an additional week for more hair to grow back. But ya know what, it was worth it. The pic you see is the result of someone who would never take a picture without her brows being filled in. I've come a long damn way. So, now that you know this, book an appointment. Just don't steal my spot :) read more

Nicck Townsend - My brows have been DELIVERT!!! I added VERY little Brow Wiz because I like them a little darker. - Waxing Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I suffered from Alopecia as a child and I lost an eyebrow. It took years to grow that sucker back so I am extremely particular when it comes to who touches them. This Friday, sick of looking like a Neanderthal, I poured over Yelp in hopes of finding a reputable esthetician. I stumbled upon all these stellar reviews about Nicck and decided to give him a call. He was with a client so he shot me a text asking me about my brow regimen, availability, and for a picture of my brows. We booked an appointment and I anxiously awaited to see what all the hype was about. Well, let me tell you- it was worth the wait. Nicck Townsend has earned the title Eyebrow Artist. I have never seen someone so meticulously groom, snip, wax, pluck, and draw away at anything. It was like a scene from "Edward Scissorhands." When I arose from the chair I (literally) grew weak from the image that was staring back at me in the mirror. For the first time in my life I had full natural eyebrows that beautifully defined my face. If not for social graces, I would have kissed him. On top of giving me amazing brows Nicck made the whole experience comfortable with his bubbly, inviting, and extremely professional demeanor. I'm sold and he has a client for life. I emphatically recommend Mr. Townsend. I hope you all get a chance to experience his magic. With talent as clear as his, it won't be long until someone snatches him up. read more

M first appt was a couple of weeks ago. I walked in to the place, and the environment was very welcoming, pleasant and Nicck was very nice. He took his time looking over my brows, lining them up and brushing them. Finally he applied the wax and went to town. After looking in the mirror I was pleased. I didn't get the results I thought I'd get, well compared to everyone else. But considering how sparse, uneven and over-plucked my brows were before, I was definitely satisfied with the after. So here I am, 3 weeks later and I love them more than when I first got them done. I was going to wait until the next visit to review but I couldn't. My brows have grown since having them done and have grown into the shape Nicck originally envisioned and I love them. Not only does he account for your face shape, but apparently he also accounts for how you hair will grow in. He has a customer for life. :) read more

I've been going to Nicck since July or August. The Asian $10 per wax had totally destroyed my brows. When I fist met Nicck he told me to give him 5-6 months and would only do touch ups every four weeks. I was veeerry doubtful as I had been screwed over so many times. Either way I stuck with his plan (which I thought was crazy BTW lol) and now I am so GLAD I did. I've seen such an improvement over these last 3-4 months. Stick in there ladies it will be worth the wait. My brows are finally at the point where I LOVE them right after I leave and my shape in consistent. Trust Niccks process !! Recently having moved to Philly from Chicago, my eyebrows were in need of a nice touch up. I used to get them threaded back home, but Nicck explained that with threading, there is no good way to really shape and personalize eyebrows to each person's face. So, all right, I said, let's get on with the waxing and plucking. Nicck was very precise and detail-oriented. He really takes the time to shape your eyebrows to fit your face. He is an expert and although never having my eyebrows waxed before, I felt completely comfortable in the hands of Nicck. Price can be a bit much (if you're used to getting your eyebrows threaded on Devon Ave in Chicago for $5), but this a different experience. He takes you in, gets to know your brows, and has future plans for them so they turn out fantastically right then and there, as well as for the future! Thank you Nicck. See ya soon!!!! read more

I am not a high-maintenance person, beauty-wise. Years of traveling and/or bicycle commuting got me out of the habit of bothering with make-up and I still rarely wear any. As far as manicures go, I think I've had 4 in my adult life. So professional eyebrow shaping was not really on my radar. Until I saw my sister a while back and hers were great! I'd just been plucking mine in the same shape as some girl at summer camp did for me when I was 16, no joke. So I grew mine out, got to Yelping, and found Nicck. He was fast, professional, and best of all didn't need any direction from me (my approach to hair and all other beauty appointments is just "make it look better please"). I love the result and will be keeping this appointment (especially his rates are so reasonable). The shape is so much more contemporary and even. I would not have even realized this shape was possible for me. I feel like I look more groomed while still having a bare face. Very nice. read more

Nicck Townsend - Eyebrow shaping and tinting - Waxing Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I've been waxing and threading my eyebrows for so long that getting them to grow in (it's taking forever) is seeming to take forever but finally after struggling through 4-6 weeks without touching them at all I met with Nicck and thank goodness b/c he really is an "artist". Nicck took the time to discuss my eyebrow goals, the time it was going to take to get them to that full look I want & also had some great feedback about what shape works the best for my face, he really knows his shaping and how to tailor your brows to your face. I immediately felt comfortable with him and as soon as he went to work I knew he was a master, an eyebrow perfectionist as one other yelper mentioned! I literally could sit here and write paragraphs about what a great experience it was and how happy I am with our first session but trust me, go see Nicck yourself, you will not be sorry, he is amazing!!! I have already booked my next session and can't wait to see how my brows look after Nicck and his magic hands get done with me :) People, let no one else touch them brows but Nicck. This week marked my third visit in three months to Nicck, and just as the first time, I was impressed. In fact, I was even happier because my brows are now framing my face much better than they were before! I have found that I haven't even had any maintenance to do on my own for my brows in between my second visit and this week's visit. That in itself shows just how well he has tamed my brows! The salon itself is clean, beautiful, and gives off a very luxurious vibe. Within the time that you have scheduled with Nicck, there is no other customer allowed in his salon except for you. His focus is solely dedicated to you, and trust me, it is most certainly reflected in how you look after! Nicck is truly the expert in all that is brows and beauty. He has absolutely perfected his craft, and his talent is like no other in the industry. Nicck Townsend - This was after walking out of Nicck's salon the 1st time I went to him 3 months ago. Thanks again Nicck!!! - Waxing Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

BEFORE THE SERVICE: Okay.....so i would love to give this gentleman a 5 but unfortunately the "experience" didn't live up to 2 months i waited for. I have been following Nicck on Instagram for about a year now....was never able to book an appointment because he's always so booked. I finally found a date that i can make things happen for. I am a south jersey resident but work in Trenton. Now my work schedule is 9-6:30 everyday...i made sure to leave work at 5 & to book the latest appointment available so i would be sure to not be late (i am a cosmetologist & makeup artist so i know how IMPORTANT being on time is in this industry). Driving from Trenton to this part of philly is an hour ride...WITHOUT TRAFFIC. Unfortunately, it was rush hour...hence why i gave myself an extra half hour. I get to the area of the salon (@ about 6:20 so be mindful i just drove an hour & half to make this appointment I've been dying to go to for MONTHS) to see that there is some type of fashion show going on next door...absolutely nowhere to park. THE ACTUAL SERVICE: So when i get there i had to park so far that i was having a hard time finding the building. I call them & the lady comes out to find me. So now I'm like okay cool...we're making small talk on our way into the salon. As i walk in i see that they're cleaning up as if they're getting ready to leave (which is fine....that's not what bothered me. I get it you want to go home right after your last service). The space was spotless btw! Nicck is there wiping down the seat. I say hello...he says hello back & tells me to have a seat. I put my stuff down, have a seat, & he literally asked me 2 questions. They were "how did you hear of me" & "when was the last time i got my brows done." He starts waxing my brows..............................doesn't say another word for the rest of the service. Literally 9 MINUTES LATER HES HANDING ME THE MIRROR & TELLING ME TO HAVE A GREAT DAY. The young lady asked me if i still had the same card on file & if it was okay for her to charge it. I said yes & they sent on me on way. I was walking out of the salon at 6:39. MY ISSUE: In this business your clients are your money makers & you have to create an experience that's worth the price you're charging. Before Nicck I was going to a young lady named Tai (Benefit Brow Bar @ Ulta in Deptford) who does an equally amazing job for half the price. When looking at Nicck's Instagram you can clearly see he's the best of the best. I was a first time client...who didn't get a consultation, booked 2 months in advanced, drove an hour & a half, & IS ROOTING FOR ANYONE WHO IS BLACK MAKING A NAME FOR THEMSELVES. I SUPPORT BLACK BUSINESSES ANY CHANCE I GET. I waited 2 months for a 9 minute service that i could of gotten at the nail salon (sorry but true) & paid $40 for it. So my point is if you're in a rush...or don't want to be there past 6:30 then take that time slot off your website sweetheart. Don't rush my service because you're ready to go home. This is your career, your passion, how you make your money. read more
