LOOK AT MY BROWS NOW!!! I've always wanted my thick brows to be completely filled in because I have random bald spots in the outer half of my brows. Despite it being quarantine, I reached to April on Instagram to see if she would have any openings soon. Once restrictions lifted, she reached out to me immediately with her openings and was extremely communicative during the entire booking process. On the day of my appointment, she had clear instructions to keep both parties safe: mask on, park in designated spot, wait in the car until called in. Beginning the ombré powder process off by outlining my brows, April was very patient and made sure my brows were perfectly outlined and the shape I wanted before moving forward. We spent quite some time on this part as she explained this is most important step! We would suggest to each other different tidbits of the current outline we didn't like & after erasing a few times, we were finally ready to tattoo!! Idk where to start! My experience with April was great! She really took her time to make sure I loved my brow shape before she went in and started drawing permanently, which I really appreciate! I initially went to April for microblading, I previously had it done about a year prior with someone else and it was pretty much faded, so I wanted them more defined, but still natural. She suggested we do microshading during my first appointment and if I wanted them darker, then we'd do ombre during the touch up appointment. That's exactly what we did and I'm SO HAPPY with them! After healing and peeling, which only took about 2-3 weeks for me (I have super oily skin), they're light enough to look natural when I have no makeup on. And when I do a full face, I'll add a little extra brow powder to them. April is clear with her pre and post care instructions and was super patient with me in meticulously mapping out every single millimeter of my brows lol. April is truly amazing. I love this girl! I had an interest in getting semi-permanent makeup (PMU) done on my eyebrows for a very long time and I would see April post amazing work time and time again. I then finally decided to get Ombré powder brows done by her and it was honestly one of the best investments I have ever done for myself. Before getting PMU, I just could not be SEEN ANYWHERE without eyebrows. I was insecure about how sparse and light my eyebrow hair was and I would draw them in no matter what. If I had to be up at 4AM, 6AM, it didn't matter.. I just HAD to have my eyebrows done at least! So that being said, this was absolutely life-changing for me. My first appointment was in April 2021 and I went back in for a touch up a few weeks later and personally my eyebrows now in August 2022 still look amazing and natural. I also became one of April's students this year! She is an absolutely amazing instructor. She had so much patience with me and she is just overall so skilled. It's amazing how knowledgeable she is about permanent makeup and the industry. For me it's important to be taught by someone whom is personable. If you're thinking about doing semi-permanent makeup for your brows, I highly recommend working with April. I found her on instagram (@brows.byapril) and knew that I wanted to work with her after looking through all of her amazing before/after transformations. She truly is a talented artist and knows exactly what she is doing. April is so informative and helpful from beginning to end. I initially messaged her on Instagram as I had questions about her rates and she was super responsive. If you have any questions about the process, she'll be happy to answer them all. I was debating between microshading and ombre brows and she recommended that I go with ombre brows. During the brow mapping, she really focuses on every little detail to ensure that the perfect shape is drawn and will double, triple check her work. My brows turned out to be a little complicated because they were more uneven than most clients she's had. However, she did such an incredible job at evening them out as much as possible and I loved how the shape looked. Note: I was extremely nervous about going through with this procedure because I consider my pain tolerance to be really low compared to most. I even hating getting flu shots or getting my blood drawn because I absolutely hate needles. So...how was I going to sit an hour and a half under a needle?! April was really reassuring and carried out the process with minimal pain. The outlining of the brows and the first round of shading is done with no numbing cream. But don't worry, the pain isn't as bad as you think, and that's coming from ME. Once the numbing cream was covered, I barely felt a thing!! Towards the end of the procedure, I felt the pain coming back again (due to the needle doing multiple rounds in the same spot), but I let April know and she added more of the numbing cream to help ease the pain. Honestly, I can't praise this girl enough! I'm extremely happy that my first semi-permanent makeup experience was with her. Not to mention, she literally has one of the sweetest personalities ever. As someone who doesn't know what my eyebrows currently look like or what they should actually look like, she was so helpful me understanding what possible options for eyebrows shapes there were, what eyebrows shape would be best for my face, and what color I should go. If you're thinking about getting your eyebrows microbladed do it! Get them done with April, she's the best! I previously had my eyebrows microbladed in Northern California about 2 years ago and they didn't heal into the shape I wanted. The front parts of the eyebrows shrunk, they were uneven. At the time I didn't go back to get them fixed after my touchup because I was scared of scarring the tissue from being overworked. Over time the pigment also faded from a dark brown to a reddish brown. I have attached pictures so you can see the difference. Anyway I found April on Instagram (brows.byapril) and liked the work she did! Also she learned microblading by an academy that's reputable. I contacted April and sent her photos of my brows and she got back to me super quickly and we set up an appointment. On the day of, I got lost finding her studio! It's tucked away in the corner of a gated plaza with a juice and wedding place. Her studio is super cute and really clean! At the actual appointment, April took her time mapping out my brows and making sure I loved them before we started. She also helped me take pictures to see how they would look like. I know she had her work cut out because my eyebrows were different sizes, shapes, and red so making them even was a challenge. She told me she doesn't normally take clients with previous work but she took me in so make sure to ask beforehand! The whole procedure took about 3.5 hours. Note: She doesn't numb before the first pass but the pain isn't bad at all! I think not numbing actually makes the microblading the most accurate because the numbing cream usually stretches the skin. She has a bomb playlist that's relaxing but not boring and we chatted the entire time! I would 100% recommend April to anyone looking to get their eyebrows done! I've finally found my microblading professional! I was never a repeat customer for the same microblading person because my eyebrows could've been better. That is until I found April- I was recommended by a friend who was raving about her work. I started by texting her to schedule an appointment. Even though I've done it before, April made the experience so painless and enjoyable. I once had someone forget to numb me before the microblading! It felt like she was ferociously scratching my eyebrow with the tool. April explained each step and answered all my annoying questions before getting to work, she really knows how to make you feel comfortable. She gave me flatter eyebrows since mine are naturally more arched. It was redrawn to perfection the second time because I wanted it even flatter (sorry I'm a pain.) This was my first time getting my eyebrows microbladed, and I will admit I didn't do a whole lot of research beforehand, so didn't really know what the process would be like. Luckily for me, April has a calming energy and was super patient, holding my hand through the whole experience! She was VERY meticulous in making sure that my eyebrows looked even and worked with my not-so-symmetrical brow bones. When the actual microblading process started, I got a little freaked out by the sound of the microblades (if you've ever had them done, you know), so she played some chill music to drown out the sound, which I very much appreciated!! I was referred to April by my cousin. It's been almost a year looking for an artist I can trust with my eyebrows.. I mean this is permanent so I was very picky.
