Local joint with classic diner feel. The service was warm and attentive. Food was great. The kamman sausage was good and locally sourced. Really impressed. Will definitely be back -- I had the steak for breakfast and they had horseradish. Yum. read more

Service for the 8 of us was sweet as we arrived for an early breakfast. Not only did my order of Everything's Omelete (with hash browns and toast) and coffee satisfying, but our drinks were filled without asking. I felt we were looked after and seen (maybe I need to get out more); regardless if it's part of the job, attitude is everything. Overall, a great experience. read more

Busy today. Country Cafe feel. Not very welcoming. No one greeted us, even when seated. (- ) They all looked upset .. Not sure what happened since the last time we went there... downgraded.. Chocolate milk is instant, & barely warm. Orange juice was sour(expired!! How they didn't serve it to anyone else) waitress seemed to be annoyed and not care and it took 5 minutes to return with a soda ‍. I understand busy, but obviously they didn't have it together. Rushing don't make things better. (-) Biscuits was too dense, gravy too thick and pasty, and didn't taste "right".. something missing .. omelets dish was good and so were sides of bacon and fruit cup. (-) Girl with gold butterfly hair clip and pants with pink bows on was the only positivity there. Look, no one asked some of yall to work there- its customer service! I didnt even owe u the tip I left. read more

My sister and I were in town to do the tube float on the river. We stopped at Brownie's for breakfast. I love finding an old diner that's been in the community for years, this was it. They were busy and we still got seated quickly and had excellent service. I had the ground beef with scrambled eggs and toast with hash browns. My sister had scrambled eggs and hash browns. Both were delicious and were left full before we headed to the float on the river. Next time we're in town we'll be back! read more

I went to Brownies Restaurant in Yuma today I had the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. My wife had the House Special Omelette. My breakfast tasted like it was left over from two or three days ago, the meat tasted like it was old and just shy of being burnt and spoiled. . My wife's House Special was just shy of being burnt and almost not eatable. I remember going to Brownies Restaurant with my father in law in the 1990's and we always received a great meal. Our meals seemed not to be the same quality as before. The waitress was extremely nice and very friendly and attentive to us, kept the coffee cups full . read more

First time visiting after hearing great reviews, and overall it was a great experience. I had the Wrangler Breakfast and really enjoyed it--everything was cooked well and flavorful. While the chorizo and eggs weren't our favorite, the rest of the meal made up for it, and we really appreciated that they refunded our money. Claudia was wonderful--very friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. We'll definitely be back to try more items. read more

If you are looking for a good ole American breakfast in Yuma this is your spot. Great size portion and decent prices. I got the French toast it came with 4 halved slices of French toast, two eggs which I requested for cheese on top, and two sausage patties. The French toast by itself wasn't sweet, but it was really fluffy. My eggs and sausage were nicely done. I will definitely be back. read more

It's my first time here. And I absolutely LOVE it. I'm pretty sure the chicken fried steak is made in house. Which makes it so much more delicious. The coffee was good. The meal was a great size I ate everything. Hash browns was cooked to perfection. No oil on the plate. This place is great. It will now be my go to place when I stop in town. I love the decorations that takes you back in time. read more

We have now stopped at Brownies Café on several trips between Tucson and San Diego. While , not conveniently right off I-8 it's definitely worth a short drive through Yuma to get to the café. Your visit will certainly take you back to an old time family run Café that serves good abundant amounts of food at a very decent price. While the inside and outside of the café are nothing memorable, it is comfortable inside once you're seated. Expect to get to know your neighbors though because the tables are very close together. If you sit at the breakfast counter, likewise, the seats are right on top of one another. It's well worth it though for the food and price. As an example, two pancakes with two eggs, your choice of either bacon or sausage was only $10.50. That's either Link or Patty sausage too. The wait staff, while I don't want to describe as ancient, they certainly are able to collect Social Security. Expect to see lots of locals because they know where to find the deals. You'll certainly find us at Brownies Café while we're traveling between San Diego and Yuma. read more

FOOD WAS GOOD! SERVICE WAS A LITTLE SLOW.. COFFEE CUPS WERE THE SMALLEST I'VE EVER SEEN.. old school pictures of muhammad, ali and john wayne.. Had a good vibe.. Clean for an older building.. Old school breakfast.. Had there 2.2.2. Two eggs two pancakes two bacon. Ordered some sour dough. Toast.. Everything was good! Might of got that last star. If the service was faster and a little friendlier. Couple locals got served before us.. read more

Great service in a classic diner. Country fried steak, eggs and hash browns with an unending stream of fresh coffee!

Zero gluten free options and crappy coffee. It's 2025 how do u have zero options. The owner needs to get with the food times

Great food and an iconic place! We've eaten there a couple of times and loved it! Weekdays are better because the weekends (especially Sunday) are really busy! Everything we've tried was delicious, especially their homemade corned beef! The ambience is cool old school diner. read more

The food was terrible. A bowl of tomato soup with a pile of macaroni on top and it's supposed to be minestrone? I don't think so. Chicken fried steak was tougher than the sole of my shoe and it delaminated from the breading. The service was good but the quality and preparation of the food was terrible. I have been here in the past and it has gone downhill which was that great to begin with. read more

Stopped in with crew for a Sunday Brunch. First time at Brownie's Cafe and was not disappointed!. Place was packed with locals and we were quickly seated. Brownie's has been around since 1946. Great breakfast selections. I had the the steak and eggs with the 6 ounce sirloin. The place is decorated old school and what you would expect for a Cafe. The hash browns were crispy, the biscuit was fresh out of the oven. The steak and eggs were very good. Everyone was a happy camper. Prices were reasonable. Will be back on next trip through Yuma! read more

Great find! Super friendly service. Lots of "locals" enjoying their meals. My breakfast came with wheat toast - cut thick, tasted home made! Bacon? Crispy, the way I like it! I'd say we'd be back, but this was a road trip, so who knows when we'll be in Yuma again. read more

Good is always amazing!! Service is so friendly, staff is so kind! Quaint ambience, really brings old Yuma back!

Really enjoy this local restaurant! The food is always good and so is the service! Very local flavor with great service!

I Love Brownies Corned Beef Hash and eggs! They are happy to switch out the side of hashbrowns for an extra egg. Each employee seems to know at least one customer or more by name each time we are there! Good food hot coffee refills keep coming. Friday nights are busy! Although the Cod Fish Fry is the big draw the other special, Stew and cornbread is good too! We are still a little uncertain if the dessert is included with the dinner or not... sometimes they've just brought it. The fish is a bit chewy for my taste. If you want cocktail sauce for it mention it as you order. They will mix it up fresh. Otherwise their tartar sauce is good! Liver and Onions was a good meal 7/10 again happy to substitute for a healthier meal... tomato's and mixed veggies! Iced tea here is excellent! Very fresh always! Kiddo opted for the tuna sandwich! Wow! It's an impressive sandwich! Not dripping... very delicious. It's got sweet relish and miracle whip in stead of dill pickles and mayo like we do at home but with a slice of tomato and lettuce it really made for a yummy sandwich! The kiddo says he still prefers the ones I make for him at home!!! I love breakfasts and lunches here! The vibe is old school local diner and that's exactly what it is! read more

So here it was on a early Sunday morning and we were looking for a breakfast place in Yuma, and we found Brownie's Cafe. We found Brownie's by chance and as we turned into the parking lot our first thought was how big is this place? The parking lot was almost full and and the place looked small from the outside. So we walked in and the restaurant looked packed, oh my are we going to wait? This lady came up to us to ask how many and we motioned to her we were a party of four. She told us, you can sit here or there, sure enough there was a table for us. We sat down at our table and started to read the menu and first thing I said to myself that is a lot of food. You could tell that a lot of the locals are frequent customers as everyone knew the lady and were having various conversations with Jinny, who we recognized the name on her apron. I got coffee with my eggs, hash browns, bacon and biscuit with gravy. Others had the steak with eggs, another had the pancakes with bacon and the other had the eggs with hash browns and toast. They do not skimp on the portions. You get a good hefty breakfast. Sometimes you find these places by chance and we were glad we found Brownie's Cafe. Most days it is only open for breakfast and lunch but there is one of the week it is opened for dinner. The restaurant has a separate big dining room that you don't see from the main dining area. It has a friendly atmosphere and family atmosphere to it. Just happy that we found this restaurant. My photo doesn't represent my whole meal but believe me the gravy for the big hot biscuit is delicious. read more

First time here. Love trying old diners. They were very busy but we got seated right away and taken care of immediately. Everyone working is very friendly. We split the omelette special and got one small pancake on the side. It was plenty to eat!even with the omelette not being very big and a slice of Swiss cheese just on top. Not spectacular food wise. But fine for an old fashioned diner and the experience of eating at a place that has been open since 1946. read more

Legit old school diner! Very busy when we went (noon on Sunday), the waitresses did an excellent job managing how busy the place was. The food was some of the better diner food I've had in a while. The steak and eggs was only $14, which is a pretty good value for a grilled steak. The staff was really nice and welcoming. Restroom was clean and well stocked...note that it's a one at a time bathroom. Only 1 little complaint: Ordered my eggs over medium and they came out over hard. Waitress quickly brought me remade eggs and all was good. I knew this place was going to be great as there were a lot of old people eating here...IMHO, those are always the best diners! read more

Visited again , we were famished so unfortunately we didn't pause for photos until I'd already dug in. Today what most impressed me on this Saturday morning was how diligent the young people were (male and female) who constantly attended to customers as the waitresses took orders and delivered meals. Coffee never ran dry and their friendly greetings made us feel welcome Kinda like "Cheers" 'where everyone knows your name!' Well staffed and the steak Breakfast was a 9 for hubby and my sausage and egg breakfast was just what my hangry state needed. The Whole Wheat toast may have gone through the toaster twice it was pretty crispy compared to hubby's white toast ... but it didn't taste burnt which would have impacted the rating! Always a friendly place! read more

Another wonderful experience at Brownie's Cafe! My brother was in town and we took him here for the first time and he was mad at me for not taking him before Jonathan was our server and he was amazing, wonderful customer service! He made my family feel very comfortable and explained the menu to us when we asked questions. This is one Yuma's BEST restaurants and everyone there is so friendly from the moment you walk in. The place is extremely clean and everyone around us was having a great time, the ambiance was very pleasant. Thank you again! read more
