02/20/2016 I happened to be right at an oil change interval and made an appointment with Brown Motors - yes, I live in Rochester, but again, traveling and being very adamant abut servicing my vehicles I had to get the oil change done along with a couple other items. The Service Department is great and the Parts Department is the best in the business - I can say that because I have been to Brown Motors before. The professionalism and attention to detail, the service follow up right before you leave and after - awesome! I deal with a few dealerships near me in Rochester and honestly, they could learn a great deal about customer service from this small town dealership called; "Brown Motors!" Even while waiting for the work to be done I happened to walk around the Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/Ram side and every sales member said hello - it's nice to know that customer service and friendliness still exist. read more

I am never returning to Brown Motors in Petoskey. Brown's has very poor customer service. They could not find the needed and necessary part for my Jeep. We had to find it ourselves by personally making dozens of phone calls to dealerships throughout the country. read more

They had my vehicle for 3 days to fix recall issues and didn't even wash it. Then I noticed a couple little dings in passenger side and back of mirror u had no dings in it at all. I've been so careful to never get a dent in my explorer. My husband days probably while they had it on hoistbor parked in the lot. I'm not happy at all. read more

I would give ZERO stars if I could, I took my jeep liberty to Browns to be serviced under the so called LIFETIME POWER TRAIN warranty Service ,After paying the 225.00 diagnostic fee, The service advisor Jack, Advised me the the engine suffered a catastrophic failure, and was beyond repair, Advised me to scrap the vehicle or I could sell it to one of his mechanics named Russ for 500.00,Russ in turn bought my vehicle under the pretense it was a blown engine, But later informed me that he put a oil pump and oil pan on it,and it runs great, I brought my vehicle into Browns to be honestly fixed, not sell it for 10 percent of what a 4x4 was worth, The we're outright Incompatent,rude disrespectful, and outright lied and deceitful, Left me with a EXTREMLY BITTER taste about being outright ripped off and lied to, So much for the LIFETIME POWERTRAIN Warranty,I would never do any kind of business,and would not buy S@@T FROM THEM Patrick Fournier Indian River read more

We stopped in the other day to look at a few used vehicles and met with Aaron Miller. He was the most delightful gentleman. Aaron showed us exactly what we wanted, test drove them and we decided right away with his direct guidance and no nonsense approach to sales. It was a refreshing experience to the delivery, where he was patient and understanding of all our questions and old fashioned ways. Newer cars are more complicated than the older ones and he knew how to explain all of the electronics to us in plain language. Thank you so much Aaron, we love our new Edge . I happened to go along with a relative & I was very impressed with people who work there. They were the nicest people I had ever seen in a business. Especially Willis & Jason. They were so helpful & kind. The frosting on the cake was the greeter, a beautiful sweet, well behaved dog, Dyson! He made the visit even better. They need even another dog or two! after a terrible issue. i went back to try and put it behind me and still make a deal...never the less that was a bad idea. the salesman (brad hall) after what happened his demeanor changed not in a good way i tried to go back not once, not twice, but three times and still being told i would get ten day and still didnt keep his end,brad tried to be slick about the ordeal. i'm fed up!! the people that highly recommended i come to brown motors i couldnt stress how bad the situation was to them. i tried being the bigger person an still. even though brad said to me after the issue the dealership wasn't like that and they wanted to fix things..that was all a lie i dont recommended anyone go here period i will also share this in social media, friends, family, ect..don't go here. they can't be trusted!! i hope the president ( mr. j. steven brown) & ( derreck m. brown) co owner of brown motors like losing money, loyal customers. i also hope the dealership like losing thousands of dollars on inventory that doesn't sell. read more

I purchased a 2017 Ford Expedition on August 20,2022. While signing paperwork Jason said that Brown Motors purchased additional warranties on ALL the vehicles on the lot that was for 3 months/3,000 miles that covers everything because they had angry customers coming in because their brakes were rusted out etc. here we are not even 2 months later and my passenger side wiper stopped working in the middle of a downpour. I call up Brown motors and they said that it's not covered under the warranty. Because it's over 100,000 miles it doesn't qualify and only has a power train warranty. It sold at at almost 144,000 miles so why would you tell me it's covered under the warranty if it's not. Now they're acting all "dumb" and don't know how I would know about that warranty. Well.... Because Jason told me about it. I will never go here for service or purchasing again, and I highly suggest everyone avoid this place. They are crooked AF. Oh I'd like to also add that there is a thud that happens occasionally coming from the roof. Apparently there is a brace or something missing in the roof. You can literally stand on the running boards and push the roof in and out with one finger. read more

Brought my vehicle here for emergency service while on a road trip. Nothing major, just wanted to have the check engine light diagnosed. They wouldn't even talk to me about it. Instead the customer service person offered me the number to Enterprise rent-a-car and told me it would be a week before they could get it in due to them having to disinfect it, etc. Ended up leaving and making it back home. The dealership I normally use serviced my car the very next day without giving me any of the excuses I was given here. Maybe consider removing the Lincoln logo off the front of your building? read more

Brown Motors is where we leased our Lincoln SUV. The sales people were able to answer all our questions, and did not pressure us to make any decisions (we weren't 100% sure we wanted to get a new car at the time, but decided to go for it). They were able to do all the complicated paperwork involved with an out-of-state lease, which was helpful. When you buy/lease a new Lincoln, you get free oil changes every 6 months. We got an oil change, and received a complimentary car wash. The waiting rooms have TV's, are clean, and have juice boxes and water for guests. I would recommend buying/leasing a car at Brown Motors, or getting service there. read more

I took my 2004 Ford Explorer to have the keys reprogrammed. I had to take it there because only a Ford Dealer could do it. My husband had already diagnosed the problem. Called 3 days later to see if it was done. They said no it was know 870.00 because they has to replace the whole key tumbler and steering stystem. A 85.99 fixed turned into 870.00. Then they also cracked my steering case they bought used parts that cost just over 200.00 the rest was labor and taxes. I will never go back. My mom also took her car there to fix ac. 400.00 later still don't work. I will never give the any of my business. read more

Ordered a windshield wiper arm for my F-350 on Monday the 5th. Was told it would take 3 days to get (At a premium price, I might add). I called the following Thursday (3 days later) to check status, only to find that the parts department had no idea what I was talking about and did not have my wiper arm. I foolishly assumed that my phone call may have actually got the parts department to order my DRIVERS SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM! Kind of important to have in February. I have purchased quite a few cars/trucks over the years at Browns, but probably won't be back. Pretty pathetic that I had to resort to Ebay/Amazon to get my genuine Ford parts because the local dealer can't seem to do the simplest things. Still have not even received a phone call from them as of today the 15th.... read more

Quite possibly some of the friendliest people I've had the pleasure of working with. I got an oil change here and it was done very fast, and they even went over the condition of my car with me before I left, and what possible things may need done in the future, without trying to convince me the work had to be done there, or trying to sell my on repairs I didn't need. Wasn't happy with used car buying experience i had with them. They didn't fully disclose frame rust in their safety report and sold me a death trap. As a place that sells vehicles and supposedly has such reputable name I'd never buy from them again. Something minor i can see letting slide but this potentially could have cost the life of me and others. read more

Brown Motors is not the closest dealer to me. I traveled to Petoskey to buy the truck from them because I liked the integrity I felt was a part of the dealership. I try to have most all service done at the dealership also. They are always prompt and friendly with a clean dealership waiting area. It makes the experience a good one and you can not ask for much more. read more

Have you ever had an auto need repair and you are away from home? My car has been in the Brown Motors lot ever since. Sunday Sept 1. Today is Sept 10 and after several calls it hasn't even been looked at, touched, diagnosed never mind repaired. I continue to get the same answer from the service desk, " I will have to put it at the bottom of the list" Lesson learned. Go elsewhere. read more
