I do not leave reviews unless I'm blown away. Best sandwich ever. Quick service. Cool interior as well.

Best Italian sammie ~panini~ in CHS! I had The Devil Wears Burrata, and it transported me back to Firenze. The pistachio mortadella and salami on focaccia was dripping with goodness. The 80's memorabilia gives customers optimal opportunity to stroll down memory lane. I love this spot for a quick bite to eat.

Super fun ambiance with all of the vintage games!!! Sandwiches, smoothies, drinks all very reasonably priced. Friendly service. I imagine it gets packed during peak hours but we were able to snag a table. I got the Apple Butter Jeans, the apple butter paired nicely with the brie and turkey. The perfect lunch before flying out later that day!

Seriously so good!!! This place is such a great Charleston staple. Easy and quick lunch place. The staff is very friendly and very attentive (bringing your food to your table when its ready and clearing plates when finished). They have SO many good sandwiches and wraps. Also try their smoothies. Pretty well priced especially for Charleston. Definitely give this place a try you wont be disappointed.

Such a cool spot. Inside is a memorabilia haven of match box cars, pez dispensers, electronic games/systems and other misc stuff. Near college of Charleston- afternoon discount for students, dog friendly. They even have a dog cookie dispenser and water bowls outside. We had chicken salad sandwich, fries, tomato bisque soup and Java-date smoothie. In our group. Everything was excellent. So many great menu items made selecting difficult. Highly recommend this place... good mix of younger and older clientele.

Great local sandwich shop! Stopped by for lunch take-out and I'm so glad I came here. I ordered the Rosemary's Baby Daddy (grilled chicken, provolone, whipped feta, bacon, rosemary aioli, tomato, greens, Italian vinaigrette, on focaccia) with a side of their fries. Everything was super tasty! I opted to take-away, took about 15 minutes, and the space definitely has the cool funky college town type of vibe. I didn't get a smoothie, but they looked great too.

What a cool shop!! Immediately the wall art and trinkets take you back to childhood. Whether it's looking for the poster of your favorite movie, playing a game or trying out the Photo Booth. The aesthetics of this cafe are so fun! My husband and I have gone by brown dog and I'm so thankful we finally stopped by! Every server was super kind. I had a question about where they source the meat and the manager was helpful but also kind!! The food came out in under 10 minutes and it was during the lunch rush as well! I absolutely loved the chicken sandwich and smoothie. It was a meal that I didn't want to end (5/5). The fresh chicken was cooked perfectly and the sandwich was crafted with the perfect amount of sauce! We will absolutely be back!

Spent about two hours here killing some time before I had to head to the airport. The vibe is very chill inside - late 80s early 90s music playing, old movie posters and board games hung on the wall, bright mismatched chairs, things like that. I loved hanging out inside. The staff were unbelievably friendly. I was offered (for free) ice water with my sandwich which I so appreciated. My sandwich was absolutely delicious. There are a ton of vegan options as weWould totally recommend.

Brown Dog Deli is the perfect spot in Charleston for a quick and fresh breakfast or lunch at an affordable price. The atmosphere has a funky and inviting retro 80's vibe, with a lively staff that makes you feel right at home. It is also dog friendly! Bons points! My GF and I both had the Chicken Caesar wrap which was excellent. The veggies, dressing and chicken blended perfectlly together. We also appreciated the various games found throughout the deli, which you can play while eating. The leg lamp was my favorite part of the decor. If you're craving a unique, budget friendly and satisfying meal, Brown Dog Deli should be at the top of your list!

The food was good. I would say the food was 9/10 ! But if you look up at the ceiling, every single vent in that place is soooo disgusting. Im not talking about a little dust, they are BLACK, Filthy & very obviously have not been cleaned in years. The whole time I was sitting there I was thinking about the grime falling into my food. (yes, its THAT bad) If the owner gets to read this review, PLEASE consider cleaning & or replacing... I would not come back here as I do not trust how well they actually clean if this is what the customer can actually see while eating.

Is parking really hard around here? And is there somewhere to eat inside?

Yes, parking can be a challenge but the food is worth it. Oh yes, all seating is inside. None outside!

Although some dishes are seasonal, these happen to be entrees that are served year-round according to our server Both were quite delicious. The vegetarian plate had a wide variety of veggies -- from mashed potatoes, to wilted spinach, asparagus, green beans, and fried tomato's. There were only two medium pieces of fried tomato so I do wish they put more in the plate but oh well. My partner loved his bouillabaisse and apparently it's the southern rendition of a French dish that is one of their most popular dishes. It has lots of seafood in it. The meal also came with complimentary warm bread, which was nice. The pecan pie was very good, but the crust was kind of hard and there were fewer pecans than I'm used to and more caramel. The ambiance is more formal but people were dressed mostly casual (and chic if I might add). Dim lighting and if you don't want as much noise to carry I would ask for seating in the back because it's noticeably louder in the front. Overall the food is very good and prices are not as expensive for the quality. Our server was great!

Impeccable brunch!!…read more I had a reservation on a Sunday morning. I was promptly seated downstairs. The interior is feminine and beautiful. The service felt personal and welcoming. I tried the omelette which was stuffed with asparagus, Boursin cheese and caramelized onion. It was fluffy, light and salty. Also ordered a side of biscuits with strawberry jam which wasn't overly sweet and balanced out the butteriness. The husk mimosa was a hit as well. I'd definitely come back from brunch and curious to try for dinner!

We could hear everything everyone else was saying, and it was difficult to hear others at our own table. The rock music did not help the cacophonous ambience. We ordered the deviled eggs which were tasty and the mushrooms. Some mushrooms came in a creamy sauce which tasted fine, but the other mushrooms were fried and bland. Our entrees were the rabbit, snapper, and scallops with sides of dirty rice, grits, and cabbage. The meat was tender and there were some nice flavors. The dishes were all decent, but very rich and heavy. So, if you like the feeling of that in your stomach, this place is for you. Our server was nice but a bit officious. For the price, we didn't feel the experience was worth it. We thought it was an attempt at elevated southern food that didn't quite succeed.

We were staying at the Meeting House Inn so were able to easily and leisurely walk to lunch and dinner. Service was excellent, true Southern hospitality, and the restaurant is adorable. Food was amazing, each of the four of us loved our dish and tasted each others as well: - shrimp and grits - 5/5, plentiful and plump shrimp with a flavorful sauce over creamy grits. This was not my dish so I only got a taste and next time we go back I'm going to get this for myself! - grilled salmon sald - 5*5, arugula, couscous, dried fruit, pine nuts, feta, lemon shallot vinaigrette (this dressing is so delicoius! I want the recipe!), two of us ordered this one and again, i got a bite and want to order this for myself next time (see the problem here?) The combination of flavors and textures was amazing. Rave reviews from all. - scallops or was it special flounder - 4/5, I can't even remember what I ordered and the fact that I cannot quite remember it but distinctly remember my friends' lunches means I did not order the right dish! It was solid but not something to write home about (or on Yelp about) - corn muffins - 5*5, i'm pretty sure the corn muffins came as the "bread" for the table and they were so yummy! Our server heard me rave about the not too sweet, moist yet with a nice crumb muffins, and asked if I wanted the recipe, to which I said Yes! I look forward to going back next time I'm in Charleston!

We got there just before 6 PM, and although the restaurant was pretty full, they told us they'd try to seat us outside due to our party size. That worked perfectly since they had heaters going. They quoted us a 45-minute wait, but it ended up being closer to 15 minutes -- a great surprise. The service was seriously outstanding. I have zero complaints. Everyone was so personable and attentive. For appetizers, the beef carpaccio was my favorite. For entrées, we ordered the pork chop, tuna, duck, and lamb -- and we all shared bites. Everything was delicious. My pork chop did come out a little dry, but when I mentioned it, our waitress didn't hesitate at all. She immediately took it back and insisted on bringing a new one, making me feel completely comfortable about saying something. While I waited, she brought me a complimentary soup, which was such a thoughtful touch, and the replacement came out quickly. The manager personally brought out the new dish and waited while I cut into it to make sure it was perfect. She even came back later to check again. That level of attention to detail really stood out. To top it off, they brought out dessert and a round of champagne for the table. I wasn't drinking, and they noticed -- so they brought me a mocktail without me even asking. That kind of attentiveness is rare. The inside looked beautiful, and I'd love to sit inside next time to experience the full vibe, but outside was perfect -- not too cold, not windy, and overall just a great atmosphere. Overall, one of the best service experiences I've had in a long time. Highly recommend.
