Denise changed my life! As someone who has struggled with bald patches and uneven eyebrows my entire life, I can't tell you how thankful I've been to have find Denise! Aside from the time-consuming process of filling in eyebrows every morning, and the low confidence I've felt since my teenage years, there wasn't a better time or reason to finally decide to get microblading done. From my first interaction with Denise back in November, she was always so accommodating and so quick to respond to my emails and texts. She made it such an easy process to get started. On there day of the consultation, my mom accompanied me to my appointment. At that point, we left Denise to do her thing, she took so much time into measuring and finding the right shape for my face. She also shared her expertise in color of brows as well. Needless to say, I was choosing, I was drawing the wrong shape and color for years. But after my first visit, I really felt confident that Denise would delivery what I wanted - natural, yet feminine shape - with the perfect arch for my face. Prior to the actual appointment this past March, Denise did a great job to send reminders on the appointment, as well sending all of the pre-procedure instructions to follow that helped ease any discomfort. Denise made sure to provide all pre and post procedure instructions, and also informed me how to care for my new eyebrows for my particular skin type, which is oily skin. She was honest and informed me that some of the lines may not be as crisp as time progresses, but hey, it is what it is. Despite not having the most ideal skin, Denise still made sure that I knew how to care for my eyebrows for my skin type. On appointment day Denise was a true professional. Initially, I was planning to have my mom join me on the actual procedure as I was very nervous. But Denise informed me that she does not allow guests to join as she wants to keep the room as clean and sterile as possible. I respected her request, and I actually felt better not having my mom because it really allowed to be fully comfortable on my own, trusting Denise's expertise. From doing the mockup of the shape again, to numbing to choosing the right color Denise made sure to keep me in the loop about what she was doing so that I felt comfortable. There were parts of my brows where I did feel the pokes more than others, but for the most part, it was not the most painful experience ever felt. I'd definitely have to say that my regular tattoos on my ankle and foot are way more painful. So anyone nervous of getting a semi-permanent tattoo on their face, have no fear! Denise definitely makes the entire process completely bearable. After my first appointment, I easily fell in love with my new brows. I felt like a new person, not fearing to go out in public with my bald eyebrows or without any make up on them. Denise instructed me to start cleaning my brows with distilled water from day 1, and she also provided me with an ointment to keep them moist. The healing process was exactly as she informed me of, as well as some other research I did on my own. From the darker first two days, to the peeling, and itchiness, the healing process was completely expected. I made sure I cleaned them multiple times a day, and to not pick the scabs. The peeling of skin, and the loss of color were completely normal. But we scheduled my follow up appointment so that she can fill in any bald spots and reshape my brows. I just finished my follow up appointment this past week and I can't tell you just how happy I am that I can say that I actually have eyebrows now!! The color and shape truly is perfect, and I really feel like I am a new person. I actually cried when I saw them because it's really made me feel like such a new person (as tacky as it sounds). Consultation visit: discuss brow shape and what you want done. She measures your brows and adjust as needed until you agree on the drawing. 2. She will redraw/measure brows from what was agreed upon and starts her magic. Follow post procedure care! You paid $$$ so make sure you get what you paid for. 3. I love my brows! Microblading was the best decision I've made in a long time. And Denise did a beautiful job! She really took time to make sure I was happy with them, and I ended up with 3 visits to complete the job (typically it's 2) because I messed up before the first visit and had been taking fish oil in a multi-vitamin by accident. Yes, by accident. I basically forgot there was fish oil in it... and that's NOT good. Taking anything that may thin your blood ahead of the blading is not a good idea. Make sure you follow the pre-and post-blading care instructions you're given! I recommend you read up on how the process works and what to expect. Basically, you need at least 2 visits to get it completed, but you may want a third - it just depends. The healing process is a little annoying, but trust the process. I don't need to fill my brows in on a daily basis anymore, and I only fill them at all now when I do a "full makeup" look. It wasn't easy to find a brow artist I felt comfortable going to, but after following Denise's Instagram account for many weeks to verify that her photos were 100% legit and of her work, I decided to take the plunge. (Note: How I verified the photos were hers/real - I watched the woman tagged in the photo each time, whenever possible, comment back about how happy she was and checked her page to make sure she was real. I did this because I've heard about how often people share photos of work that isn't theirs, which is so not cool! Denise is legit!!) I've struggled with bald patches in my brows for years due to thyroid issues. I was really excited about microblading and found Denise through Yelp where she has a perfect rating. I first reached out to her for a consultation in May 2017. The first available appointment was July. After the consultation, she couldn't get me in to do the actual microblading until December -- a 6-month wait! During the appointment, she took the time to agree on the best shape for my face. I was happy with the shape and how she took care with sanitation and safety. But here's the thing... the strokes didn't stick. I had my follow-up appointment in February to fill in the holes and go over the existing strokes. After my brows had healed from that there were holes... like the ink had come off as the scabs healed. Denise had mentioned that sometimes that's the case but that she'd fix it if it happened. I reached out to Denise to get a touch up, which was supposed to be part of the $800 ($700 + tip) I initially paid. She was "too busy" to get me in until June... so another four months of waiting. In the meantime, the dark brown color that she had used turned to ASH. So now my brows were patchy AND discolored. My entire goal was to not have to pencil my brows in every day and to not be self-conscious about them. Not only did I have to pencil in the shape, I had to try to adjust their color every day because they looked so ashy. Overall, I was super disappointed that I not only spent the $800 but that I had to wait almost a full year from initial appointment to when she could finish them. I cancelled my "free" touchup and went to a professional permanent makeup artist to get them fixed. After the patches and more importantly the discoloration, I didn't trust her to make them right. Your first meeting is for her to make sure both of you are on the same page regarding expectations of your brows. She really wants to make sure she makes you happy. She will do a little thicker and maybe a little darker, but she does her best so your eyebrows look custom to your face. So if you're going in there demanding crazy things like super high up in the hairline eyebrows, Denise may not be the gal for you. She wants to make sure you look your most beautiful natural self so please go in to see her with realistic expectations. Trust me, you will not be disappointed! When I arrived for my appointment, Denise was polite and professional - but informed me within the first five minutes that microblading isn't recommended for oily or "ethnic" skin. I would have appreciated reviewing that info on her site before coming in for the appointment. Instead, I traveled across the Bay in traffic, only to learn that I wasn't an ideal candidate for the service. I would recommend folks to do extensive research on microblading so you know what questions to ask, even before setting up a consultation. And, I would recommend the site be updated with this guidance, so women of all skin types and ethnicities are better informed. read more

Then it took about another few months before I could get in to see her because she is in such high demand. I traveled about an hour from my home, and it was worth it! She is so patient and kind. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly making sure I was comfortable before proceeding. She's also a perfectionist, which is excellent considering this is your face.
