I'm not sure if it's the type of wax used, but it was taking 4-6 rips with each application to remove the wax, whereas everywhere else I've been it's only ever taken 1-2 tries to remove all of the soft wax applied to one area. Ellie is the BEST!!…read more Getting my eyebrows micro bladed is something I had been considering for over four years. Super terrified that I would be doing something to my face and then be stuck with it if I did not like it. I almost never wear make up either so having it look extremely natural was also critical factor for me. I researched everybody within a 30 miles radius of San Francisco studied all of their before and after pictures. Studied the work of eyebrow artists all over the country in fact. In Los Angeles and New York as well because I travel to both of those places frequently enough. Ellie's work stood out above everyone else's in the country. Primarily because she doesn't just paste a cookie cutter eyebrow stencil on your face and do the exact same thing for everyone. She studies your face, the eyebrow bones and takes into account your age, your skin color and hair color. She designs an eyebrow that is meant for your face. But even more Ellie to the time to sit with me and discuss the entire process and comfort and reassure me. Because even though I felt confident I'd done my due diligence and found the best in the country... I was still terrified. She was back and forth with me many times before I even scheduled the appointment. She really invested a lot of her time and energy to helping me through the process. And she did a perfect job!!! If you are thinking about having your eyebrows and or eyelashes done and want to go to the best. GO TO ELLIE!!!

I am glad I was referred to her and I to have taken the leap of faith to come to her! I honestly had given up on my brows. I had struggles finding a good artist in the past! Will keep coming back to her until she retires! 100% recommend her! On top she is such a girls girl, super friendly, good to talk to! Ellie thank you so much for FINALLY giving my face the eyebrows of my dreams!

This review is for the ombre brow tattoo by Mei. I may come back to bump this up to a 4.5…read more Time: I didn't have to wait long. I came on the day after Xmas this year. In fact, it went by so quickly that I had to uber to Hog Island Oyster and the family (they dropped me off at Faces) was still in line to be seated). Check-in took about 5 minutes after less than 10 min wait. The check-in was basically signing waivers and making a retouch appointment (booked til June!). Actual session: I came in with brows filled in like I normally would have them done to give Mei an idea of how I prefer the brows. Mei was very nice and said she'd like to do my brows similar to how I have them filled in. She drew on both sides and asked me for input. They were great so I told her to go with it. I'm not sure of the bedside manner complaints about Mei because she was really nice, asked me where I was visiting from, and we literally talked about the weather! Very pleasant. I can't believe that Mei has been doing this for 30 years because she is beautiful and looks so young! I complimented her. Maybe that's why she was extra nice. Hey, Golden Rule. Mei showed me each brow as she finished. The process took about 25 minutes. I took off 0.5 star because I don't think she put on numbing cream. If she did, we definitely didn't wait for 10-15 minutes! It hurt. I've had 2 other body tattoos and the brow area is just more sensitive than the other body areas that I had done. I squeezed my hands and the tears came aflowin'. I thought, "Is this more painful than the two c-sections I've survived?!" Maybe. But it was a lot of scratching that can get to your pain center. I almost thought about stopping midway on the second brow. But I survived and it wasn't too bad. Beauty comes with a price. When Mei was done, I expected crazy Chinese opera brows, but they weren't too bad. Definitely with the shine from the ointment she applied, it didn't look natural. I brought big Jackie O shades and showed up for stew at Hog Island. I went straight to the public. Post-care: this gets a minus 0.5 star. The receptionist didn't give me the ointment til I asked her about post care. She said to put the ointment on twice a day. I had to ask about showering, etc. I had to ask. Why wasn't there a handout sheet? Or why didn't she just tell me vs me having to pull the info from her? Don't get me wrong, she was really nice at check-in and throughout, but should've provided me with the info all at once and up front. My reco is to have the clients be informed of postcard and given the ointment upfront. Would make it easier while they're not in pain. First 24 hours: my brows were tender afterwards for about a couple of hours. The cold SF air served as a great ice pack. I put the ointment on and slept on my back. Removed the ointment with a gentle wipe this morning prior to applying a new layer of ointment. Saw some browning on the wipe. Likely due to the skin recovery. I felt some scabbing when I first put on the ointment the first evening. After 3 days, the brows lightened. I almost wished it stopped getting lighter on day 4! Days 4/5 were when the scabs that were formed became lose and you can start to see beneath the scabs. I'm assuming this will be the final color til I get my touch up's. Evening of day 5 when I washed my face and dabbed the brows, the scab came off. I'm still apply aquaphor in the PM before bed. Glad I had this done. I keep thinking I need to shade in my brows, but, duh. Don't need to. Posted some pix of them heeled. === Came in for my 6-month touch up. Very pleased with finished product! Again, I didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes! Mei was awesome and she was consistently nice to me.

It took me a while to decide. I didn't havehigh expectations since was told that even permanent make up will not add a contour ..only color . My lips were getting pretty pale with aging so I decided to go for it. Arina took time to draw perfect shape before she did the job so I was confident. Now after 2 month I love the results! Just don't do it…read more Permanent makeup is forever -- and so is a tattoo artist's mistake. I trusted Arina with my eyelids and walked away with a disaster: One eye is tattooed, and the other isn't. So now I have permanent makeup on one eye and nothing on the other -- the exact opposite of the effortless look I paid good money for. The anti-muse. When I pointed this out, on the table and in text, Arina handed me $200 and told me to go elsewhere. She refused to fix her own work. Now I'm stuck wearing makeup every single day, or else I look like a one eyed monster Picasso. And now I am hunting for another artist willing to guess the color she used -- because she offered zero help, zero documentation, and zero accountability. And I will have to pay all over again. No reputable artist wants to correct someone else's botched job. Only Arina has the history, and she walked away the moment she realized she made a mistake. Do yourself a favor: go somewhere else. Or just don't do it! Now I wish I had the luxury of having no make up on. Plus it's extremely painful. I have had other cosmetic tattoos, and none this painful (or botched).
