Been going to Kevin throughout all of college and I've been to Daniel a couple times, too. These two are dope people and even better barbers. Appalled to hear that the management there isn't paying them (and other barbers there) for the incredible work they do every time I'm there. Do not go to this shop. They're not consistent with prices, 54.00 one day the next 66.00. Yea it felt like they didn't want my business anyway the reason for the inconsistency either way that was my last visit there. We had a great experience today with Brandon and Sharon. They cut my boys' hair (6 and 4) and it was quick, even and fairly priced. We had an appointment but they saw us earlier than we expected (we were early) and we're really kind and patient with my wiggly kids. The kids looked so dapper after, I wasn't sure they were mine. I'm always skeptical when going to a new barber since I've moved around a lot and have had mixed experiences. But my experience here was great. I brought in a picture for reference of what I wanted and Denise took the time to actually check and recheck how she was doing vs. what I wanted. This was in comparison to other barbers that are like "yeah, i can do something like that" and just do their own thing. In addition, she uses a lot of different techniques to really nail the blending and texture. I went home with a cut I like for a price that was very decent. Brovado - A bold experience that is sure to impress. While you may be looking for only a cut or shave, men, treat yourself to just that little extra that Denise and her team have to offer. A recent transplant from DC, I was looking for a new barber in the area that won't let you walk out of the door looking anything less than debonaire. Their clientele is a solid crowd and I was not the only new client in today which indicated that word is certainly getting around about this up and coming shop. From watching the interaction with other clients, I can say with confidence that Denise's team treats all customers, young and not-so-young, to nothing less than what you would expect from a traditional barber shop in today's Richmond. I will return and look forward to the experience. I am so glad that my job brought me back to Richmond and to Brovado. read more

Went for the first time. Nice Barber Shop for Men! Paid $17 base for a haircut and a neckline straight razor shave without any other extras. Denise cut my hair and did an excellent job. She was a good conversationalist, very focused, and asked helpful questions about how I wanted my haircut done. Among the other options local to Midlothian, you'll either pay about $16-17 for a haircut at Hair Cuttery/Sport Clips, maybe a few bucks less than that at Great Clips, and among those chains, I have had a bad experience more often than a good one. Have been a customer since summer 2018. I highly recommend Brovado Barbershop. I always get an excellent haircut from owner Denise. Short style and always blended perfectly...no lines. She listens to the customer and takes the time necessary to produce what you want. The neck shave is a nice touch that reminds me of barbers long ago. They're very attentive to the current Covid19 situation and take all necessary precautions, I feel totally safe there. I'm moving out of state and will be using Brovado as a benchmark for selecting a future barber. read more

Unlike a lot of places I've gone to in the past, I wasn't treated like just another head they needed to cut and push out the door. Astonishlingly bad stylist on my first (and last) trip there. I asked for a simple outline trim around my ears and back of the neck, with a slight fade at the edge on the back of the neck. Trish grabbed up her clippers and started fading the whole back of my head in a high and tight style. I let her go since she had already raked into it way up high. She spent half an hour "blending it in". I got out and paid, $18, which is the whole haircut price. Then when I got in the car, I looked in the mirror and she had gouged the hair above the left ear and temple all the way to the scalp with the clippers. The left side is skinned to the scalp and the right side is the layer cut I came in with. Never again. I doubt that stylist can do anything except military cuts. read more

The best place for a guy to relax and get a haircut. Even though I'm just a clipper cut. All the barbers take there time and make sure your completely satisfied. Make sure you get the shampoo, hot towel and scalp massage. Be warned you'll leave feeling so relaxed you won't want to do anything else. read more
