I'm the parent of a special needs kiddo, so I have to thoroughly research every service we get for him. That said, I had been told Cutz for Guys was good for kids on the spectrum, so I called to ask about it. I let them know I had a kid who is very kind and sensitive, but will need time, compassion and patience. I was immediately assured they had just the stylist and told me about Taylor. I asked to book it and they even gave me an extra 15 minutes on the appointment to make sure they could accommodate any extra time he needed. We showed up early to allow my kiddo to acclimate. As soon as she was available, Taylor came over slowly, introduced herself and established trust with my toddler before even mentioning a haircut. She led him to the chair, allowed him to inspect it and pick out his own special cape. She held a great conversation with him at his own level the entire time, without being condescending and was so kind and attentive to his needs and cues. Whenever he needed a break, she caught onto it and graciously allowed it. She had tricks to get him to move his head how she needed and even if some didn't work, she still made it work. For the first time ever, my toddler was not wailing and screaming and terrified at someone touching his hair and it took everything in me to hold back the tears, especially when I think back to his first haircut a year ago. He left happy, with a new haircut and a lollipop, and I left holding back tears of joy and gratitude. I plan on returning with both my boys for as long as Taylor will have them. If anyone has children with special needs or just a fussy kid, Taylor is definitely your girl. read more

Although this establishment has a good reputation for men's haircuts, it does not adhere to the CDC's rules regarding face masks and coverings. There is applicable signage to the wearing of masks, but customers do not follow the signage, and it is not enforced by the barbers. Won't waste my time again. Had become a loyal client there for Sien. She doesn't take appointments. Only walk ins and I'm fine with that. The last time, I walked in having first checked to ensure she was working and then planned my week around getting a haircut from her that day. Arrived and was advised that I was next after the gentlemen currently in her chair so it shouldn't be long. Turns out, he was to receive an extended appointment as I waited patiently for 30 minutes, the 45, the an hour. After an hour and fifteen minutes and no sign of finishing up I went to the desk. Fully understanding she should devote as much time as needed to the client in the chair, I explained that if she had an extended appointment taking an hour and a half or more, that I should have been advised of this at check in and I would not have sat needlessly. Sien came over and said she had advised the desk person to make sure such a long wait would get okay with me. That's fine but no one did that. This is no way to treat a client in a service business. No investigation as to what couid have happened. No suggestion of an alternate plan other than continue waiting another 20 minutes or so. No offer of any kind to try to make up for it. Only "Sorry". The experience and lack of effort to make up for the operational failure certainly was. read more

I met the owner Tammy a long time ago when she only had the one shop. She did my haircut. She is pleasant and kind. The shop closer to my house kind of went through a phase with a couple of front counter people overlooking me for cuts when I had signed in. They were calling other people ahead of me and such. When I tried to think about why, nothing made sense. Nothing. Even reservations. They had plenty of people cutting. I just didn't make it back there sometimes until I was about fit to be tied. Then Covid happened. I've been just doing straight clipper cuts myself to avoid possibly getting sick. But it's not a good look for long periods of time. It's not tapered and such like a pro can cut and style. I decided to give them another chance recently. I decided to perhaps ensure a spot and avoid issues by getting a reservation. The guy who took my cut did a great job and was pleasant and fun to talk with as well. I like good people doing good work and I certainly don't mind paying and tipping for that. I do hope that they will ensure the front desk staff are awesome to the customers. The front desk is the face of the business, the first impression. I had no huge issues at all on this trip, so thank you. I may get my next cut without a reservation just to see how things go. read more

I think I've had my haircut at Cutz Midlothian 35 times over the past 3 years and honestly never a bad cut. Always a good experience as the staff is very attentive and helpful. We're around the one year mark for this location and it is still my go to. If you have hair, need it cut, and want it done right, all the girls are good, but Mondays and Wednesdays are sacred. Because on those days Megan comes down from whatever holy pillar of perfect-fade magic she sleeps at and blesses us with her skills. She "gets" hair, knows what it will look like before the scissors touch hair, and can explain it as thoroughly as you like. Seriously cannot recommend her enough. Victoria was AMAZING. My girlfriend just recently transitioned from having Long hair to a men's short haircut. The first time she got it cut it looked okay but the barber really didn't listen to the style she wanted and she has dealt with a lot of little "problem areas" for the past 3 weeks. This is only the second cut she's gotten since it's been short and Victoria not only fixed all these little problem areas but she gave her the cut she was wanting with the exact style she wanted. I even stood with my gf the whole time she got it cut and Victoria didn't seem to mind me walking around her to watch while she cut her hair. Wasn't the best experience I have 7 boys and I wanted them to all have a similar haircuts for our family pictures someone told us about this place and how great they did so why not try them out, well it was awful they took 2 of my boys to skin when I said no skin showing. The rest of my boys looked like I cut it myself at home had to go up the street to a new barber shop to fix what they did to my boys! Will never be back read more

I have had so many subpar experiences. The first few times I've gone in it was great. I had a great stylist, but she recently quit. So I came in to Victoria at Westchester Commons, when she cut my hair she left the left side at least 1 inch longer than the rest of my head. I love the company, but DO NOT see Victoria. read more
