My family and I were greeted by a very polite waiter at the door. We were seated outside in the sunshine as we wanted.
The windmill is located in a very quiet area with a view to the canal.
My wife and I decided to try the Hop & Liefte / Pale Ale Citra and the Summer of '18.
Even with an 57IBU for the Hop & Leifte, it was a pleasure to drink this beer. They really managed to keep the bitterness at a level where it wasn't too predominant.
Summer of '18, says it all in the title. It tastes like summer, and what a summer!
Our kids has some strange choices of non-alcoholic bewerages, but the waiter did all in his power to satisfy the two young ladies. You don't see that very often, so thumbs up for that.
The food was robust, but yet very delicate and tasteful. The servings are big enough, even for the hungry guests.
We also tried one of the starters with local cheese, called "the young and the old". Two different matured cheeses, the young was light and quite subtle, whereas the old was somewhat more powerful and very delicious.
If you should ever go to or around Gouda in Holland, do yourself a favor and go to The Brouwerij de Molen in Bodegraven.
Definitely a place I would recommend to tourists. read more
