I hate peanut butter in beer (like it's the worst thing ever created, ew), but peanuts WITH beer is a great idea. I had the bitterblond, scotch, barleywine, and tripel. They were all top quality. I gave the scotch away though. Too peaty for me. All in all a very cool place to hang out. If I had longer time in the city, I would've returned for sure.

Green cap was only £1.80 a goblet. It was a pale ale, but did have a Belgium hint to it. It tasted great though. The women serving was very friendly, there was loads of interesting locals to (people) watch, huge roller doors so you could view the world, a friendly dog running about outside, blankets if you get cold and lots of great beer. It's sort of hard to explain, but it was like drinking home brew in someone's tiled garage on an industrial estate. Your either gonna love it or hate it. For me it was paradise. And soooooo cheap!

The beers I tasted were without exception novelty beers, with overly fruity, herby or bitter tastes. Get your pilsener right and other basics right, first! The food however was excellent. Troost has gone full vegetarian on their burgers and this was the first time in my life I tasted that vegetarian burger replacements have a future. Texture and flavours were spot on. Wouldn't mind coming back for the burgers and will accept that the beers are not as I would like them.

There were a good variety on tap, except for one time they were literally out of everything but we found something else that we liked. I tried the IPA and the Honey beer and both were very crisp and fresh. They had a menu with little bites but we didn't try any. It's a nice spot to stop for a beer after a long day of walking and sightseeing, and I could see this as a nice spot to meet with friends after work if you're from the area.

Wood panels, cheese & meat boards and a large chalkboard of the beers, it felt like being in Wisconsin. The bartender is friendly and knowledgeable, very attentive. Love all of the local brews.
