    Hot dog and tuna melt.
    Mike B.

Cool spot near Amsterdam Central. Had a sampling then picked a winner. Also got lunch. My hotdog was okay, but my wife loved her tuna melt. Good service from friendly staff.

What a great brewpub find in an alley! Outdoor seating, craft beers on tap, and small bites available until late. Super friendly service and they were on top of clearing dirty dishes from the tables. Highly recommend if you like craft beers and less street noise from the main roads.

Eclectic brewery with multiple draft beer options. We had a couple IPA's and the Scotch. Nachos were surprisingly excellent which we didn't expect. So we also recommend the food based on our experience!

This brewery and bar is well worth the stop and in a great location as it is very close to the Amsterdam Centraal train station and the red light district. The seating was generous and comfortable as my friends and I were able to sit in couches while sampling the different beers. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant for an early evening on a Friday- not too busy. Overall if there were some good cheaper food options this place would be 5 star worthy most assuredly. But nonetheless if you're just looking for a place to knock back a few beers with some good company, this place will do the trick beautifully.

Beer list... The tripel is fantastic

Praellokaal is a really solid bar in Amsterdam. Most of their own craft beers are solid (minus the Double IPA which had too much "funk") and I especially enjoyed their tripel. The food was also pretty good as the sausage plate was good and the bitterballen was enjoyable. Fine I admit, their Tripel was so good I had to come back here a second time for a quick drink lol. Place gets packed on Saturday...like sardines packed. Due to the prices they charge for their beer, 2.5 - 4 euros, this place is must! 4 stars.

I really like their mission. The bartenders are great. The place is casual although sometimes overrun by the larger tourists groups. Most beers are tasty. Their IPA is always serviceable, as is their tripel. Lots of variety. If I had a knock on them it's that their beer glasses are REALLY small. I'm guessing 7-8 ounces drinkable is what the pour gets you. Not terrible considering you're paying €3 -€4 per glass but I'd rather pay more for a normal sized glass. This feels like a tasting.

This place is a must go if you love beer and are in Amsterdam. The brews are great (the pale ale is my favorite) the atmosphere is fun and the staff is friendly. Didn't try the food but they do have food. The inside is big or you can sit outside . Beware this place is in the Red Light District! So after you have had a couple practice awarness and walk around all that craziness! It is totally awesome. Smoking pot outside while sitting at the tables also seems to be exceptible if that is your thing. People were doing so and know one cared. A common thing in Amsterdam.

What a nice spot! Typical Amsterdam 'smartlappen' music, and they brew their own beers too. Fantastic beers, by the way! They also organize events like bingo evenings. Fun! The food? I had a typical Dutch dish: 'stampot', which was delicious! The meatball was almost as good as those made by my own mother, which is a huge compliment! So, do visit this great place where people get a chance to learn and grow in having a real job by serving the customers of this homely venue. People who work here usually don't get such a chance easily elsewhere. So be a little patient, just in case.

    A nice blond 'Willeke'...

After my feet were killing me from shopping last Saturday I enjoyed a couple of nice triple blond 'Willeke's' at 'proeflokaal de Prael'. A very cosy place which I especially like because it gives people a chance to learn and grow in having a real job and serving customers. People that would not get such a chance easily elsewhere. They serve nice snacks to go along with the beer. Good 'bitterballen' and not the usual mix of stuff that go with a drink, but a nice mix of cheese, olives, dates and sausage. And yes, you got to visit the toilet and check out the tab, but the whole place is very authentically decorated. I am not a beer drinker, but I like a special beer once in a while and I will definitely come back to get one again here. And someone noted it is not the place you would take your business contact. I would definitely think of this place for a next team outing, because it is a social place and in this way you can contribute by drinking beer. What's better then that!

Great craft beer selection at good prices (€2.5/€3). Not a touristy feel either. The cheese board was amazing!

We stopped here to taste a couple of local beers. The restaurant looks very nice inside - decoration done very well. We stayed at the bar as we weren't eating. I had a couple small beers to taste and they were ok, not my favorites. I would try this place as a restaurant if I came back to Amsterdam though.

Great locally brewed beer (rare in Amsterdam). Great interior, homemade fries, and a perfect hangout for a first date.

We sat down anyways and chose a table outside to watch the show of life. Beer was good. Had to try the local staple, bitterballen, and was not impressed. Lacked flavor and half of them were empty. We were amazed on how one could fry something like this and it be empty, yet it keeps it outer shell intact while being empty inside. Very odd. Double burger helped this place out but it wasn't a home run. Fries were just ok. I wouldn't eat here again but may have a beer here for the people watching. Oh well.

This place brews its own and you can't go wrong ordering any of their drafts which can be: Witte Antonia, De Blonde Barbier, or the De Manke Monnik. You can try them starting with the Antonia and work your way to the Manke or the other way around (either way it will be a pleasant day). The bar food is legit, I had raw sausage Ossenworst, Huisgemaakt Bierbrood (beer bread), and Bitterballen (toasty croquet made with beef). Have a seat outside facing the canal which allows for a delightful people watching view and relax.

The bartenders were super nice and friendly (always a pleasant surprise) and were talking to the other regulars about what they did last night and what they plan to do after work. Super casual. It seemed like they were also very knowledgeable about beer so if you're not sure, you can consult with them to get recommendations. The beer was great and there were a lot of options. The location is near the park and also near a tram stop if you want to take public transport after your beers (or beer tour, in my case). I hope to do the beer tour again when I'm in Amsterdam and therefore come back to Craft & Draft.

The food was delicious, the beers were excellent, and the service was wonderful. The young man who took care of us was probably one of the best dining experiences we've ever had - you could tell he was not only thoughtful and attentive, but he knew the beers extremely well and even was nice enough to give us a peek at the brewery. We tried all of the beers they had on tap. Our favorites were the Tripel, the New England IPA, and the Russian Imperial Stout, but everything we tried was delicious. Even the Session IPA, which I normally don't go for, was impressive. The food was tasty - we started with the Charcuterie Board, and for dinner opted for the Catch of the Day (Cod) and the Steak. The charcuterie board was very unique, with house pickled vegetables, a nice whole grain mustard, and four different types of meat. This included rabbit (so tender, our absolute favorite), deer (native to The Netherlands, it wasn't quite to our taste, but still cool to try), and two others, I believe a pork sausage which was really good, and one more meat that I don't recall. For our mains, the steak was so impressive. Perfectly cooked (we requested medium rare) and juicy...it was probably one of the best steaks I've tried. The fries were nice, as was the salad that accompanied it. The cod was the star of my dish - cooked perfectly, buttery and falling apart at the touch of a fork. The potato triangle that came with it was nice as well. The spinach salad was nice, but as I'm not really a fan of fennel, I tried to avoid that. The foam/sauce served with the cod was alright but wasn't really necessary given how nice the cod was on its own. My dining partner enjoyed the little fried prawns more than I did. I would highly recommend checking out Pension Homeland for dinner, beers, or both. I'm a little bummed we hadn't opted to stay at the hotel there, as the building was nice and had a beautiful harbor view, including the Martime Museum ship. The feel of the building was a little outdated, but in a pleasant and cozy way. I definitely would have been drinking their delicious beers at the bar or playing pool at the end of each evening! Thank you to the thoughtful young man who took care of us that evening and provided a great dining experience. Do yourself a favor and include this as a stop on your visit to Amsterdam.
