Absolutely will come back to beer temple. The guy that helped was extremely friendly and knew the menu like the back of his hand. Great atmosphere staff was so wonderful and the selection was phenomenal! Ten out of ten i will drink here again!

Maybe it was just the time of my visit or a clientele coincidence, but I've never ever ever felt so out of place in a craft beer bar. I walked into the grungy, dimly lit bar thinking, "ah yes, the perfect place to make beer friends" and left thinking "uhhhhhh??" about half an hour later. First I walked in and looked at the tap list. I noticed an open stool so I took a seat. Then a guy walked up -- because yes, I was the ONLY GIRL -- he was served before me. Eye roll. Then the bartender walked over and I asked if he had any local options. His facial expression told me it's a question he gets often and hates -- similar to when you ask me what year I am in school (high school sophomore...obviously). He told me it's an AMERICAN beer bar, so they only have two local Dutch brews. Both hoppy. Okay. I ordered both of the Dutch brews. They were okay. I would've ordered more but I didn't feel welcome at all. I now know there's way better beer bars in the city that serve local stuff. I'd say skip this place unless you really, really miss Stone, Bagby, or Brooklyn.

You like hoppy beverages of the craft kind? This is the place. Amazing selection (50 on tap, more on bottle/cans). Mainly American Craft-Beer orientated with some great other/local/intl added as well. Always good advice. Easy going and relaxed place. Amazing service. Great atmosphere to kick back and enjoy a craft-beer or two.

If you are beer fan, so this bar is absolutely for you. Cozy and authentic atmosphere of really American pub. More 80 on tap and 25 bottle beers you can try here. Nice and friendly bartender. Besides this pub is including in "more beer tour" Amsterdam. This is a bar crawl where you must visit 4 pubs in one day and get nice T-shirt. I got this one! :)

The absolute best beer selection I've seen in Amsterdam! I guess that's what you get from a place that calls itself an "American" style bar. But seriously, crazy beer selection from all over the world. You'll be able to find whatever you want, provided you're willing to pay. Most of the drafts were very reasonably priced, bartenders were great, and there's sidewalk seating!

Extensive selection of American beers, better than a lot of breweries in the States. We've been living abroad for the last 2 years and it's hard to get good American craft beer in France, so my husband loved this bar. They have beer on tap and beer in bottles (the bottled beer is more expensive and can range from 8-30€). The average for the tap beer was around 8€. They also have a good selection of snacks: local cheeses from Holland, and even American cheddar cheese. They also have charcuterie, chips and a decent selection of things if you're hungry. We spent 2 hours here on a rainy afternoon and it was a great place to grab a drink. It wasn't crowded in the afternoon, so we were able to sit comfortably and they have plugs if you want to charge your phone (they also rent phone cables / plugs for 1€, and they also have free WiFi. This was a great place to grab a beer, with a great selection from all over the United States. We would come back here again!

Beer Temple was just what we were looking for in Amsterdam. We were bored of all the normal tourist bars or pubs selling pints of Amstel or Heineken. I found BT on yelp and we made our way straight there. If you like craft beer then you will love this place. Literally hundreds of craft beer options split between bottled and draft. I got the chance to try several American beers that I had not heard of before. The barman was very friendly. Willing to chat and advise on beers tastes and origins. You could sample them all before buying and he even brought out a 400 euro bottle (yes for one beer!) called utopia for us to have a look at. Sadly I did not get to try it. The bar has free wi fi and a good area to sit outside and watch the world go by when it is sunny. If you like craft beer - you will love Beer Temple! The best bar I have visited in Amsterdam on my three visits so far.

Warning: if you want to drink as many Dutch beers as you can then visit their sister, Arendsnest. There might be a few on tap that particular day, but the main focus here is American beers. Haha, very funny... I don't mean Bud or PBR. =_= Although I always want to try local beers when I am traveling, I somehow ended up here both times I was in Amsterdam. The bartenders are friendly and it's easy to find something up your alley with 35 taps. It also helps that their opening hours are generous (seven days a week, baby!) and the location is very central. Unsurprisingly, the patrons seem to be mainly tourists, especially North Americans. Well, I fit right in and I can't blame them for wanting good beers.

This isn't a bad bar, just a bit misleading as you don't expect half the drafts here to be American beers. I guess it's kind of cool to see your local American breweries make it all the way out here but I wanted more local flavor and less of what I can already get at home. Anyway, the setting inside is a bit dark, but otherwise comfortable. This is a solid place to stop in for a beer and relax your legs for a bit from a day of museum and city sight seeing. 3.5 stars.

Mmmm...beer. We visited Beer Temple's sister bar, Arendsnest, and they told us we might want to give Beer Temple a try for an assortment of American craft brews. We took their word for it and were so happy we did. Beer Temple has a seriously impressive assortment of American craft beer and then some. We're from Chicago and live very close to Three Floyds brewery in Munster, Indiana. To our surprise Beer Temple had several Three Floyds beers...collaborations with Mikkeller that are available in the states but also a couple collaborations that we had never seen before. Super exciting. I guarantee that no matter what your beer preference, you'll be able to find something that suits your fancy here. Friendly, helpful bartenders and delicious salty snacks really rounded out our experience here at Beer Temple, highly recommend!

Cool spot in the middle of Amsterdam. Bring a beer drinker from Portland, this was one off top spots to visit on our first day of travel. It was great. We arrived around 2:30, and there were only two other people inside. Nice to have some room to hangout with our group of three. The beer selection is obviously AMAZING. We all tried local beers, and one from Belgium. Prices are good also, that you can try a few different kinds for a fun experience and not be out too much money. Also the meat and cheese selection is nice, and goes well while sipping on some beers. Also, great bartender! He was really nice, patient with our questions and attentive.

We have heard of Donnies, but have never been so thought this was a good opportunity to try it out. Food: Since we were looking for a light lunch we decided to share the large size of the Kapsalon Kip. The Kapsalon Kip has responsibly raised chicken, hot sauce, garlic sauce, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, jalapeños, cheese and wait for it...french fries! It's definitely big enough for two people and SO DELICIOUS! We kept saying "OMG, this is so good". Drinks: We ordered two ice teas and one beer. If you're a beer lover they have craft beers on their menu. Price: €19.35 Service: Service started out pretty slow when we arrived. No one came to us for 10 minutes and I went outside myself to get the menus off the tables there to see what to order. But once they realised we were there and took our order the service picked up. The waitress in the end was nice and friendly. Ambiance: It was pretty quiet on the Saturday afternoon we were there. The space is very nice and well done. Definitely the nicest doner kabab house I've ever been to. Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY! I'm looking forward to trying other things on their menu.
