The facility is top-notch, the campus is modern, clean, and the staff is terrific. Everyone we came in contact with were helpful and knowledgeable. The place is beautiful, art everywhere, places to sit and relax, history of the Mayo family and how it all came to be, photos, and information. This was all just in one part of it where we were, the ER and Davis Building. They also have quality places to eat and even a full Starbucks here. This is a state of the art hospital with world class physicians. Walking the corridors there an air of calm knowing you or your family member are being treated by the best.

Once imaging was finally ordered and active internal bleeding was confirmed, surgery was delayed for roughly seven more hours. In the meantime, the doctor ordered mass blood transfusion in an improper way that worsened her condition instead of stabilizing her, while failing to move the central line that was improperly placed and that the radiologist recommended be repositioned. HCA Healthcare has faced no consequences, and there is no way for people researching physicians through the Florida Department of Health (DOH), the medical licensing board, to see what happened to my daughter. Because she was 25, unmarried, and had no children, Florida's 'Free Kill' law strategically blocked me from pursuing legal recourse to ensure the hospital and its physicians are held accountable so the harm does not continue. All the nurses and staff were very friendly and helpful! Zero issues or complaints on my end! They decided to admit her after about 5 hours. She was moved to a hospital room around 12am. At her room all the nurses and staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped mom and was very patient with her because mom can have an unpleasant temper at times ( if you know what I mean). They never lost their composure and always stayed professional!!!! The hospital is somewhat difficult to learn how to get around but after a few days it was that bad. Advice: park in P2 garage and go to upper level 3. The covered walkway takes you from garage to second floor of the hospital. I definitely recommend this hospital! I have heart issues myself so if I had to come here for medical needs I would feel very uncomfortable with it!

When we arrived, we were instructed to go to the ER waiting room, let staff know who we were with, and that once my mother was placed in a room, we would be able to go to the back. While my sister and I were in the waiting room, a staff member called my mother's last name, told us she could now have two visitors, gave us a pass, and used her key card to let us in the back. Once we walked to the back, a tall man in scrubs immediately stopped us, put his hands up, and questioned why we were there. We explained that we had just been called and shown a visitor pass. He said we should not be there and then brought over another woman, who also spoke to us in an aggressive and dismissive manner. After we explained multiple times that we were following the instructions we had just been given, we were eventually allowed through. As we walked toward my mother's room, one of the EMTs grabbed my arm and said, "You know you're not supposed to follow us here." I told him I did not know anything about that, that I was only worried about my mother, and that we had followed the instructions given to us. He then became more aggressive and got in my face. This was an extremely upsetting experience. My mother was having a medical emergency, and instead of being treated with professionalism and compassion, my sister and I were met with hostility, aggression, and disrespect.

I requested a good faith estimate multiple times from Billing, Neurology, and Customer Service. I did not receive one. At the date and time of my appointment I was informed there would be a hospital fee in addition to my office visit fee due to the location being in proximity to the hospital. I did not enter the hospital nor did i receive services there. I requested the removal of the fee due to the fact that was not informed in advance of the appointment and was never provide the price. I contacted customer service and billing and received no assistance. I then contacted the patient advocate. The response is received was that UF does not provide good faith estimates and does not notify patients of the hospital fee at the location in advance of the appointment. The lack of price transparency and concern for patients financial burdens is appalling.

Seamless and quick then I walked out to check in for the x-ray where the experience was similar.
