Chicken curry wrap with potato wedges
Carol C.

See my pic before you order the wedges!!!! Next time just say you're out of the wedges instead of offering up this crap. I was excited for some rosemary doused potatoes. Baked no less. Instead I got burnt, dry, hard wedges. Aioli wasn't good enough to make up for this That being said, I did enjoy the curried chicken wrap. It was lightly curried and meaty. It would be nice with some chutney but I was satisfied. Still sorry I paid $3 for the wedges and soda.

Truffle cauliflower mash, delicious!
Aarti B.

I've seen this food truck around Chinatown and Metro Center and decided to give it a try. As a vegetarian, I was disappointed there weren't any veggie sandwiches and I wasn't in the mood for vegetarian chili, so I decided to try the truffle cauliflower mash. It's like mashed potato but made of cauliflower with truffle oil. It was quite rich and delicious. After taking a four of five bites, I was getting full and had enough. I'm not sure if I would get it again, but it was fun to try and worth the $4.

Brisket platter

I thought it was pretty good. I ordered a brisket platter, which came with two sides. All parts of the meal I enjoyed. The meat and slaw were good. The mash was a little watery before mixing it, but I think it was cauliflower, so it's hard for that not to happen. I went close to 2pm and things didn't taste over cooked or anything. I think all these food trucks are a little over priced, although perhaps with all the logistics, labor, etc it adds up. I enjoyed it, although I'm not in a rush to go again.

Chicken salad

I cannot believe I just spent $10 on this chicken salad. Rubbery chicken breast with a dry rub, romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, and a tablespoon of mediocre dressing. That's it. I opened the box and was extremely disappointed. Got a knish as well, which was actually quite good. I really hope their sandwich are actually worth the money.

LOVE this food truck! Got the reuben, knish and side of cauliflower mash. SOOOOO DELISH!

Brisket sandwich, $13.20 including tax...

RIP OFF! For $13.20 across the street in Friendship Heights you can get a gourmet sandwich, tomato+cotija soup, and a fountain soda from--from a celebrity chef's spot no less. I say this because the sandwich was definitely not gourmet, it was only accompanied by a pickle, and usually celebrity chefs charge more than the standard fare. Instead what I got was some brisket that seemed to come from a frozen Costco tray, served at room temperature. About $3 worth of value there, feels like I dropped a $10bill out of my pocket walking back from the food truck. Good luck.

I spotted their truck while on a morning break! I was excited to learn via Twitter that they would be serving lunch today outside of my building! . My colleague and I have found all Kosher restaurants within walking distance from the PSB. The Brooklyn Sandwich Company was a great find on a hot, humid day! I got the Reuben and a Dr. Brown's black cherry soda. Both were most excellent! Best lunch I've had all week! Please come back soon! I would like to try all items on the menu. Not only was the food great, the customer service was awesome! This matters a lot to me as lunch time can be hectic in DC. That doesn't mean we should stop being polite and kind to each other! Thank you for an amazing lunch. I wish you all the best in your endeavors! You have a fan in me!

Reuben and potato wedges with truffle mayo

I think I've only left 1 or 2 reviews on Yelp. I'm not really interested in reviewing food because I know most people review places just to bash them. After being up at L'Enfant plaza several times and seeing a line outside this truck I decided to give it a try today and decided to leave a review from my experience. The staff that served me today was very friendly so I'm not knocking them at all. The truck is well decorated and clean looking. Doesn't look in the least like one of the various trucks roaming DC that have nice pictures and serve you a frozen, cafeteria burger from Walmart or chicken strips out of a giant frozen bag. I definitely had the sense that this food was fresh and they took pride in it. I ordered the Reuben combo which came with a side and a drink. The total came to $16.50 which I was pretty shocked at since all the other truck's combos I've been to are $10 for an entree, side, and a drink. I paid and figured I was going to get one of those massively stuffed deli sandwiches that you take half the sandwich home and it would be overflowing with potato wedges (which is the side I ordered). I was told that they were out of rye bread and the chipotle aioli which I was fine with because I didn't show up till 1 pm so I knew most of the lunch rush had already come through. What I received when I sat down was one of the smallest deli sandwiches I'd ever purchased and 8 to 9 potato wedges. The sandwich itself was nothing to write home about and was quite bland. I expected a much more flavorful sandwich for the price I paid. The wedges were well seasoned and the gentleman that served me was very right, the truffle mayo I ordered in place of the chipotle aioli went very well with them. The reason for the 2 star review was that the price was extremely steep for the amount of food I received and the sandwich was nothing special. I apologize for the poor review because I know these things affect business but when my wife metros from GW for lunch on a Friday, we visit 2 different trucks, she ends up with the school cafeteria burger from another truck, and I pay $16.50 for a lackluster sandwich it puts a damper on the whole experience of meeting up for a Friday lunch at a food truck stop. Edit: as I'm now looking at the photos that other people posted, the reason for my smaller sandwich might be that the rye bread that it's supposed to come with is larger than the pumpernickel I replaced it with. This might have been the case but if you're out of 2 things that a customer asks for then I feel you shouldn't be charging full price.

Brisket on pretzel bread - with side knish and pickle.

amazing food and very good service. The people taking your order are very nice and the food comes out fast - perfect for a lunch break. I had the brisket and potato Knish. both were delicious, the brisket was flavorful and was served on an amazing pretzel bun with slaw. The Knish was delicious as well. I would highly suggest trying this place out ASAP, cant wait to go back.

It was a really hot day in DC, and I was trying out the food truck scene. Generally I go over the longest lines are because that's usually the best food. Not so much in this case. I ordered the Reuben with a side of a aioli potatoes. Now realizing I was in DC and maybe the line was long because it was the only kosher food truck out there, but the bread is terrible. I could've gone to the grocery store and gotten better Ryebread. Also guys, a Ruben means grilled or toasted in butter also they put pastrami on the Ruben instead of corn beef which is really a Rachel. So what I got was some pastrami on untoasted bread with a little coleslaw on top. Since it was kosher I was not expecting cheese of course. So I already told you the bread is terrible, let's talk about the rest of the sandwich. The pastrami had a nice color to it and with sliced a little thinner than I would've liked. It did not seem to have a normal coriander type rub to it and was a little salty. My guess is they did not rinse the meat well enough before they smoked it. The chipotle cold slaw was the best thing I got, and the potatoes were very good too. The combo also came with a drink and a half sour pickle that wasn't bad. If I was ever to come back I would probably try the brisket plate and not bother with this terrible bread. Sieriously guys, you can't call yourself a New York deli food truck with this level of bread.

"Hot" brisket sandwich - its cold and where's the brisket???!!

Not too impressed for over $13 spent on a "hot" brisket sandwich that was more bread than anything, was cold and he bun wasn't even toasted. I chose to pay the $13+ because I know brisket is not cheap, but that was not even $5 worth of meat on it. At least it taste ok, but not something I would order again or give them my business. Disappointed for sure. :(

Reuben, an excellent pickle, and delish knish.

Just outside the L'Enfant Plaza Metro stop (on the Maryland Ave side), you'll know you're in the right place by the crowds of Federal office workers queuing up for their favorite truck. There's a great variety from southern soul food to barbeque, from pho and banh-mi to Indonesion, from Philly cheese steaks to gyros. My daughters each had beef pho from the Pho-Nation and Vietnamese Food trucks (piping hot flavorful broth, plenty of noodles, slices of tender beef, cilantro, and accompanied with hot sauce and lime wedges on the side); my wife had the falafel salad from the Quick Bites truck which was outstandingly tasty and light, made with a chickpea and fava bean combination with a herb blend that gave them a unique green color on the inside; while I had the gyro platter from the same truck. Excellent lamb meat, well-seasoned, good tzatziki sauce, and accompanied by a fresh salad and stewed chickpeas. About $9 each for these meals and the trucks take credit cards. Don't settle for the tourist trap food trucks lined up near the Smithsonian museums -- these are terrible with microwaved pizza slices and hot dogs only ... make the short walk to these real food trucks and you won't be disappointed.

I ordered: +the Nasi Goreng - #2 on the menu; this is an Indonesian fried rice with chicken, egg, shrimp, veggies, and a side of pickled veggies; savory rice with tons of ingredients; this was pretty filling! +Sate Ayam - #3 on the menu; these were grilled and marinated chicken on bamboo skewered, dressed in a peanut sauce, served with a corn fritter and pickled veggies; this combo also comes with rice, but I opted out of this; I absolutely LOVED this dish! I was still a little hesitant until this nice woman came along and vouched for the food. I had no idea about what to order, but as soon as I saw her food come out I was sold. I told the guys to give me exactly what she had, which included a quarter chicken, corn, and potatoes. I got back up to my office and enjoyed all of it. The chicken was well done and well seasoned, the corn was tasty, and the potatoes were better than what I was expecting. Can't really explain it but they were like roasted and mashed at the same time.. whatever it was it was great! Oh and that sweet orange sauce that they gave me took the chicken to another level. Insert fire emojis Lastly, the guys working the truck were some of the coolest food truck people that I've ever interacted with. Combine that with good food and you can def count on my coming back again.

Well...I meant to take a picture of my lunch. Really, I did. But...it was gone too fast…read more.. Today was my second time at Ooh Dat. Both times I've ordered the same thing - a quarter dark meat with one side. It comes with basmati rice (which you can sub out for a different side) and a choice of a salad, coleslaw, and corn. I've chosen the coleslaw both times - I find it so unique, with its cabbage and basil-like dressing. Definitely NOT your usual slaw. I will try the corn one of these days, though. On to the chicken - They give you a good amount of chicken and it is very, very juicy. I can't comment about the skin (I don't eat the skin, I take it off...I know to some of you that's a sin!) but my co-workers have previously commented that it is nicely seasoned. They also provide you with a mild barbeque sauce, and today they gave me a new sauce, which was curry-based. It's slightly thicker than the barbeque sauce, which while it has good flavor, is a bit thinner (it complements, not overpowers, the chicken). I alternated between both sauces today. I have to also complement the owner/manager - I had exactly $8 in cash (keep forgetting about the taxes for food trucks!) so he let me go without paying the $.80, that was really nice of him. I'll be sure to give it back to him next time! Overall, a solid, filling meal, and I would return!

**** 4.5 stars ****…read more As one of the progenitors of "better" street food for the DC area, Andy Kim and his family have been providing a quality lunch time meal at a fantastic price for several years now at their famous L St cart (http://www.yelp.com/biz/bulgogi-cart-washington#hrid:P03Wi3K_BGfBmyV7WowE_g). I'm not sure whether the idea to open up this additional spot was to cash in on the food truck craze currently engulfing the District, or if he just wanted a second location and this was more convenient than lugging around another cart each day. Whatever the reason, I'm glad he's here. This new location, right in front of the Metro Center station, is marginally closer to me, and it's a pleasant shady walk the whole way around noon. The truck (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GD4QOboiYcXUKbFw5DvjbA?select=8kLF59cmaVQyGxu6x_Mzdw) is just as easy to spot as the cart ever was, so just look for the bright yellow spot in the midst of drab grey buildings. Andy said that he and his dad are now manning this truck, while his mom and sister take over operations back at the original cart. The prices are all the same as before, $7 for any combo of beef or chicken, spicy or not, however they do not offer the kimbap sushi here like they do at the cart, which doesn't really affect me. I'm not sure if they make all the sauce at once, and then distribute it among the two locations each day, but it definitely tasted slightly different than what I've gotten from my visits to the L St cart. The 3 times I've picked up my usual spicy combo (a mix of half spicy chicken and half spicy bulgogi) from here it has been the perfect balance of heat and flavor. Add in a double order of their sweet vinegar "salad" to cool off the heat and I'm totally set. That's really the main reason I'm bumping this up to a 4.5, because at $7 for a giant plate of food this is really tough to beat. If they could ever get their kimchi to not suck I would probably give them a 5 and put them right up there with Fojol Brothers.
