Brittney has trimmed and styled my hair a few times and I always am amazed at the beautiful transformation she is able to give me.

They charged my card, I didn't realize they did not give my daughter the receipt, so she went back in to retrieve the receipt. I noticed the total was off from what we normally pay. They added a fee that I was not made aware of and was never previously charged this fee. No apology, I was told it's a "new policy" and it's a fee for using the products. How is anyone supposed to know that when you request for a shampoo blow dry & style, you need to pay additional for the shampoo, conditioner & styling products? You would think that in a service that is called a "Shampoo Blow dry & Style that this would be included. It's unfortunate, I liked our service provider, Brianna but the customer service or lack of customer service is the reason I decided to cancel the remaining appointments. The girl that canceled my appointments did smile while doing so and was happy to cancel them for me. Very disappointing.

HUGE MISTAKE. I thought I had found my place - I was so excited by the fun color work on their…read morewebsite and loved the salon atmosphere. The first red flag (that I ignored) was that the stylist refused to provide any kind of estimate for time or cost. I trusted her and the process and now, just returning from my fourth visit and more than a thousand dollars lighter, I wish I had never set foot in Salon Piper Glen. I was very upset after my last visit but because we ran out of time and the stylist was working on another client already, I decided to wait until my next visit to address my concerns. Rather than providing a solution, the stylist had two answers: 1) I was my fault for not speaking up in front of her client or calling the next day and when I mentioned that the lavender color I asked for was not applied to the proper places, or really applied at all... 2) it would've washed out anyway Which is NOT the point. The point was that it was never applied to my hair to begin with. There are so many ways she could've handled things to salvage the relationship or at least so I wasn't furious when I left, but rather than saying "this is what I can do for you today to fix it, would that work?" When I told her my budget she just shrugged and then charged me full price for a haircut and let me walk out the door in tears. At one point, I even said, if I were you, I would've at least offered to tone my hair and reapply some of color I asked for (again, not for free, but within the budget I was willing to spend today). But it just came back to how it was all my fault and how the color would've washed out (had it ever been applied). Reddit told me to go to Bishops. I wish I had listened. I hate confrontation and should've just not returned. Instead I had the most uncomfortable, miserable, depressing hair appointment of my life. BUYER BEWARE!

We tried this place after a not great cut at another kid salon down the road. The stylist was…read morefriendly and listened to my instructions. She spent time getting my daughter's hair just right. The salon itself needed cleaning. I don't like to see empty chairs surrounded by hair and there were several dirty stations. Someone needed to sweep and instead everyone kept walking through the mess. The haircut earned 5 stars, but cleanliness of the salon knocked it down to 3. Overall it was a good experience and we'll probably be back.

Every other kiddie salon we've been to has had some toys. There was a small basket of books in a corner, but the only thing that enticed my son was the candy for sale that was conveniently displayed right at a child's eye level. Hrmm. The haircut itself was okay. His other cuts have looked MUCH better, but he absolutely hates getting his hair cut and shakes uncontrollably, cries and tries to get out of the chair the entire time. I guess I just got lucky before with very skilled stylists. The woman who cut his hair was quite nice, but might have been out of her element? I don't know. Either way, it looks okay. Not horrible like that one time we cut it ourselves, but not great. I won't necessarily blame her for it, because he is difficult, but I know his hair CAN end up looking good even when he's flipping out. The real issue came after the cut, when I went with my son to pay. I asked if I could put a tip on the card, and the man behind the counter said sure. He asked how much I wanted to add on, and I said - very clearly, I thought - $7 (the haircut itself was $17). When I got the receipt to sign, it said $25. There was no mention of charging an extra dollar for tipping on the card, and the tip was paid to the stylist in cash - the man took it out of the register and said he'd give it to the stylist. I really thought "seven" was a clear number. It wasn't loud in there. At that point, though, my son clearly wanted to leave and I didn't feel like arguing over a single dollar, especially when he'd been a difficult cut. Since I did sign the receipt, I have no legal leg to stand on. But I know exactly what I told the man to tip (we're a one-income household, so I count EVERY penny), and I think it is suspicious that an extra dollar was added to my bill. Yes, it's only a dollar - but dollars add up. Bottom line, although Doolittle's was the least expensive kids salon I have found in the South Charlotte area, I won't be returning. And next time we go for a cut, I'll remember to bring cash for a tip.
