We were in town recently for a sporting event and decided to pick up a pizza after. I called ahead at like 5 p.m. and was told there was at least an hour wait. I mean, it was a Saturday - so - okay, but 5 p.m. is so early to be on that kind of wait already! We ordered a medium pie and the garlic knots. Even coming in after the hour wait, our order still wasn't ready and we waited for probably another 15-20 in the restaurant before it was done. At this point, I'm expecting this pizza must be better than anything else I've ever tasted. Unfortunately, not so much. The pizza was huge - I give it that. A medium was more like a large/extra large at other places. It's not the best NY style pizza I've ever had, but it wasn't the worst. The garlic knots were interesting -- VERY heavy on the butter/garlic topping stuff - so much so it cakes the bottom of the pan. I can see why that would appeal to a lot of folks, but for me and my kids, we found it to sort of just make the knots soggy and mushy instead of that nice balance of dough crisp bread and flavor. Overall, probably on the 3 1/2 star scale for me with the wait/service issues and mostly average flavor. read more

I was in your restaurant tonight and seen and heard one of your employees yell at, what appeared to be a delivery driver, who lookedlikehe was in his 50's. This might fly in Brooklyn, but this ain't Brooklyn. It was highly unprofessional behavior. The delivery driver appeared to have gone ahead of the line and was waiting at the far end. He didn't appear to be pushy or demanding attention. To embarrass a customer or even a delivery person is not acceptable especially in front of appropriately a dozen other customers. read more

Trusting my fellow Yelpers, we ordered a Large Brooklyn Special tonight via Uber Eats (which was slower.than.CHRISTMAS) yet far cheaper than the DoorDash option here on Yelp and on The DD platform. With that in mind, I am seriously missing the Gopher delivery service that doesn't take a cut of small business' sales and is far more efficient. Credit where credit is due, this was a very New York-y place, from the utilitarian ambiance, steady crowds, and floppy, cheesy pizza. I ordered mine in person and ate dinner there, and probably a dozen people left with takeout while I waited (wish I'd called ahead). What arrived was a massive pizza of which I could eat only two slices, despite having skipped lunch that day. I got half peppers and half mushrooms, neither of which were fresh, which was a bit disappointing but they weren't bad. I was baffled that someone apparently ordered an extra cheese pizza, given the thick and richly flavored layer that comes by default. It wasn't quite as well done as I'd like (I reheated the leftovers a bit more), but it was definitely a satisfying pizza. I added some garlic knots, which came literally drowning in a layer of parmesan and butter, which I used to dip some pizza crust in as well. The price was right, and while the place has limitations (strictly a dairy and wheat operation, limited toppings, not much besides pizza), I'm betting it's the best pizza for a long ways. read more

Upon arrival today, I was immediately greeted by their host who listed their options and started my order. The large slices were ready with a minimum wait, and the service was personalized for me. The customer service was rude. left my order for last on the fryer after the rush. But i was one of the first at around 11:30 but I saw people come in and leave while in my car. When I went in there was no line an no one was cooking my steak. I ask the girl what was the hold up she said i told you it would be forty minutes quit abrasive. No you said thirty five and bitch it has been forty minute. So finally after watching someone come out the back he "started" to make my order. After forty five minutes waiting my order hadn't been processed. But all those other people just came and went. But I digress After getting home I threw the food out because I didn't like the fact the food was left unattended. The parking situation was cool. They have a private lot connected to a shopping center so its all good. The location was great as it was right off the main highway. The décor is kinda MEH... but it's a Brooklyn style pizza shop so what else would you expect. The service rendered was great. The guy behind the register was courteous and friendly. A couple days ago and I ordered a 20-in pizza one of the specials and when I got there I can't say they were rude but they certainly weren't welcoming, because they didn't say anything to me. They didn't say "may I help you" or "how are you".... .... just kind of leaned in expecting me to speak.... so I gave them my name they brought my pizza over.... the only words they said were the total of the price..... I handed them my card, finished the transaction and I didn't get even so much as a "thank you" or even a "git outta heah" when I got home I opened the pizza box and it was a 20-in pizza stuffed into an 18-in or 16 in pizza box all bent around the edges. It was also undercooked to the point there was some cheese that hardly melted if at all. Nice! I thought to myself ... "self, you can live with this" so I began to eat it. About halfway through a slice I smelled the odor of rotting food coming from, yes you guessed it, the pizza. No, I'm not claiming that they sell rotting food but this was my experience and my pizza had rotting ingredients on it somewhere because it smelled like it came out of the garbage could have been the mushrooms could have been the meat I'm not sure. And no I don't order fish on my pizza and YES I do know what anchovies smell like. Now I'm home alone for the next two weeks because of my family's summer vacations and I thought I'd go by there and get a big pizza eat a slice or two and freeze the rest for later this week. But I ended up throwing away a $25 Pizza and not eating it though I did get to eat the $25. Anyway I thought that was terrible. I could have even put up with the bad service and the bent poorly presented Pizza. Why? Because the pizza actually tastes pretty good and I believe the price is actually decent. But when you combine the poor service a pizza stuffed in a box it's too big for, rotting ingredients AND the pizza is undercooked...... ..... I just can't recommend.. I want to recommend very much because I'm new to the Goldsboro area and I've only lived here about a year and a half and I actually like their food..... ......so that's a bit of a conundrum...... ..... I guess I'll leave this review up for a while and go back to their store and try again later ...at my expense. But when it arrived (via Grub Hub) it was hot and juicy. Nice New York style pie -- thin crust and lots of gooey cheese, especially in the center. Not so much on the edges. We were driving from Raleigh airport to Wilmington and needed lunch. Looked this up on Yelp and stopped on our way through. First thought was that it's in a strip mall and really no "ambiance". Didn't matter because boy was the food great! I had just a slice of pepperoni, it had to be at least 1/4 of a large pizza. Crust and sauce was delicious. We also ordered sausage, and sauce stromboli that may SIL could only eat half. We added an old order or garlic knots which will have with scrambled eggs in the morning.
