Speaking to them on the phone they listen straight away to what you have to say and are always very accommodating. I have always been able to book appointments for times that suit us and our pets as opposed to them and their schedule / targets which i think is a great mark for service. When ou arrive the staff are always friendly and punctual and will talk to you to let you know what is going on. Although a lot of pet care can be expensive at times, they have always fully explained the various options that are available to us so we can understand and make our own informed decisions with their help.

Although I have been previously registered with another vet, a friend has recommended the millenium way practice to me, so I thought I would give them a call. The receptionist i spoke too was brilliant. really helpful and friendly, and helped me choose the right care package for my kitten. I ended up paying a one off fee for all his vaccinations, treatments and micro chipping for the first year of his life (costing me a fraction of the individual costs). The care and treatment he has received so far has been brilliant (including treatment for a post vaccination reaction, all part of the package) and I would not dream of going anywhere else now!

We are part of their Pet Plan (we pay monthly into this) and part of the Pet Plan we get a free yearly check up, which I booked as its due. I said in the check up that he has had a bit of an itchy ear the last few days. The vet looked into his ears and prescribed an ointment. When I came out to pay for the ointment, they also charged me for a consultation so I explained to the lady on the desk and said it wasn't a consultation I had but was part of his yearly check up. To which she said because I asked about his ears that is then considered as a consultation. I asked kindly what the actual yearly check up was for then, she said to make sure your dog was ok!!! Disappointed totally. They are more interested in making money than being fair to their furry friends. I'm all for businesses making money, and realises this but don't rip people off unnecessarily. What a huge disappointment Cherrydown Vets in Basildon is.

Distasteful, despicable and unsympathetic, all they care about is money…read more Today we had to have our pet put to sleep, we had already paid in excess of £200 for vet bills over the last week, so they were well aware making payments was not an issue. After watching our pet taken away for euthanasia , we were about to leave the surgery very upset. The unsympathetic young lady at the desk only seemed to care about getting payment for the euthanasia, I said please send the bill. There is a pointless candle on the counter saying when this is alight it means someone has lost a pet, this wasnt even used, the staff were more focused on the money side of things. 3 hours later I then receive a phone call asking for payment. I have never experienced such a disgraceful way of handling the death of an animal. Vets are supposed to care? Not at London Road Surgery.. AVOID like the plague!!!
