She is on the 10th floor and is from Kentucky. She is THE most caring nurse I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Always came to the room with a smile. Always came immediately when I range for help. She is EVERYTHING I believe a nurse to be. Please, if you happen to be a patient or just visiting one, let this young woman know how important and impressed with her I was. We talked to management to let them know we found another place for her to live that takes care of her specific "Alzheimer Needs", such as meals, bathing and medication assistance doctors appts. & anything else she needs. We told _______ we are paying the down payment today. We went in her office to discuss our options. We were told that Fairwinds has staff that comes in residents apartments to help with everything I just listed above. Man we were happy ! As we didn't know how mom would have handled the move. We were so relieved we didn't have to find out. All her needs would be met! We were very honest and upfront about mom's condition. We said sure let's do it! Mom can stay in her own apartment that she knows. GREAT! We were so happy and ________ made us feel like this was the right decision. We were told the extra cost and felt it was justified because getting her bathed is a chore and we are not caregivers & really didn't know how to bathe an elderly Alzheimer's mom. Mind you she was only 98 pounds but she was feisty and would speak her mind and fly the bird at you sometimes. In less than 48 hours she was comatose. She wasn't walking, we don't know if it was by choice or she forgot how. This went on till we secured her a spot at Fairwoods; they specialize in Alzheimer's/Dementia care. By the time the "NEW" home came to evaluate her she had lost a considerable amount of weight. We had to get her out of there. She either clashed with _______ or just was stubborn and shut down. Update now... has appetite is back, she gained weight, is actually getting herself down to the recreation room to socialize. We don't know if she thinks she's out on the town or what! But a very happy mom now!

There are a lot of good employees here but if your a resident with no family or anyone to check on your care occasionally she takes advantage of that situation for her benefit. She holds grudges if you show any discontent or do not agree with her decisions and will go out of her way to make life HELL for that person. Good quality huh? And not only that her husband is the director/manager of the kitchen/dining room, that being said its not only a conflict of interest in most employers eyes they both carry the attitude that they own or run the facility even though there is an executive director that is in charge there.

Fairview is a special place. I had my aunt in another Spokane assisted living facility, but it was…read morepurchased by a large corporate entity which decided to drop the Medicaid option for residents. My aunt was running out of assets so I needed to find another place while I could still provide some period of private pay before conversion to Medicaid. This was not an easy task. Quite by accident I found out about Fairview and their willingness to take on residents with minimal private pay and they welcomed my aunt with open arms and full cooperation in helping move her into their facility while I was managing all this from a great distance away. They went out of their way to go pick her up before the movers came and kept her comfortable and engaged during the move. The room was twice as large as her previous location's room and she was guaranteed to remain in that room when converted to Medicaid. Both my aunt and I found the staff to be excellent in caring for her and communicating with me. My aunt thought the room was very nice (not that mattered to her), the food good and the staff friendly and caring. They made everything seamless in her care and easily accommodated some of her mental quirks and actions that I think many places would not have tolerated or would have increased her 'care' costs. They did not. When end of life approached, they kept in close contact with me and helped navigate the transition to hospice during a time when all three hospice organizations in Spokane were overwhelmed and couldn't take on new patients in the time frame we thought necessary but Fairview and the Nurse Practitioner responded in ways that warmly and professionally tided her over until hospice could respond. I have no reservations and strongly recommend Fairview as an assisted living place for your loved ones.

She settled in ok, care givers were great but communication between myself, and management was frustrating...then original owner sold facility. New owner switched up management, hired a new facility manager and what a difference. I was was kept informed, everyone felt more personable, more relaxed. They go above and beyond, I mean way beyond. That staff is exceptional, actually not staff but family. Today is Monday, my Mom passed Friday night 8-1-25, she was 98 and 7months, still a smarty pants. Caregivers and Hospice employees came in on their days off to hug her with tears. Can't express how much I appreciate Aspen staff. She loved them...I love them. Don't hesitate to check them out
