I told the hospital nurses that I wanted him home the next day. st Jude Hospice stepped in and made everything happen. My husband was home mid day on Friday and all equipment was already delivered. Nursing care was at the home waiting for him. The care provided was professional, caring and loving. The staff brought a level of calmness to the family. All care providers were sincere, well trained, and compassionate. Thank you for providing such caring, loving care!

Amparo "Chu" Wang, the CEO, came to my house with caregiver (Carmen Veloso Wieberg, CEO at Instant Healthcare). Chu was so caring and professional in explaining how hospice works, and very patiently standing by until we were ready to contract the hospice care. Chu and her teams are very knowledgeable - they understood our stress and was VERY quick to provide all the help we needed, i.e. medical equipment (hospital bed, wheel, bath chairs, oxygen kit, etc), nurses, pain meds, etc. Everyone in Saint Verena was so warm and helpful to us; they must really care about what they do. Under Saint Verena's care, my mother passed away peacefully with no pain, and we as family got so much support too. My family is forever grateful for Saint Verena and Chu Wang the CEO.

Between those two bookends of life, we enjoyed and endured much. About four weeks ago, when I learned she was to be discharged from skilled nursing/rehab after trying unsuccessfully to regain the ability to walk after a successful hip revision surgery, I was at a crossroads on what to do given my mom's advancing dementia and notable weight loss. A very caring nurse practitioner making her rounds at the skilled nursing told me about the wonderful care her father in-law received from 1 Heart Hospice. From the very beginning, Cynlie and her 1 Heart Hospice Team (Nadine, Romalyn, Retchie, and several others) were on top of every detail and not only helped me find the perfect (very clean, cheerful, and operated by a teams of very caring people) board and care residence for my mom but also had a new bed, wheelchair, and other important equipment at the residence before my mom arrived. My mom passed away with my wife and me by her side on Father's Day 2024. Between the time my mom moved in till the time she passed (ie, 16 days), I must have communicated with Cynlie and her colleagues 40 or more times. Sometimes it was about my mom's medicine, and other times it was about my need for emotional support or help decision-making. Nonetheless, 1 Heart Hospice was there every single step of the way. In the last 24 hours of my mom's wife, they assigned 24 hour nursing coverage to make sure my mom was comfortable as she transitioned.
