I wanted this experience to be great but it was a waste of time, money, and calories. There were flies and nets flying, i had to swat my food the entire time i was eating (inside). The food was not as hot as it could've been, not as good-tasting as expected, very small portion size, the customer service was HORRIBLE (my waitress was slow, we stayed 30mins more than we wanted, constantly waiting for her. The 20% tip automatically added to my check was more than quadruple what she deserved - I couldn't tell if she was scared/timid/shy or didn't care because she knew she would get a 20% tip anyway). AND for a $22 tip, she could've plated my leftovers instead of bringing me a bag and box. We ordered 2 caesar salads (we got 1 delivered to the table and about 5-6mins later, the other came), they were ice cold with a pile of cheese on top and wayyyyy to many croutons, the dressing wasn't tasty, kinda sour. I had the Bronzeville burger, could've been hotter and came with about 20lbs of fries that are NOT hand-cut like the menu says (these fries weren't even real photos but the mass produced fast-food fries, maybe that's why I got so many). We also ordered the duck breast which was a very small portion (like a A-cup) and a cup of grits. Duck didn't have any flavor, needed salt and a better chef. This experience wasn't date night/birthday celebration worthy, at all. I think it's more of a bar with finger food than restaurant with full bar. Overall, I don't recommend and won't be back. Came to celebrate my husband's birthday, left and went downtown to another restaurant, totally different experience. Even the bathrooms were cleaner, floors at Bronzeville Winery were sticky, yuck. Nope. Nope. and, nope. read more

I had a wonderful experience and excited to go back! We started with wine and I had the red blend and it was delicious and smoky! We then ordered the shrimp which was amazing! The salmon & chicken thighs were both great! The star was the Mac & cheese and it was thee back I've ever had!!! read more

I went to Bronzeville Winery for Mother's Day. The food took an eternity to come out. The salad came out incorrectly 3x. They charged me for 2 pies when I only ordered 1. I ordered a burger to go and they only brought out the fries. When I finally spoke with the manager, she said she would make adjustments to the bill as an apology. As an apology, the comped $20 on a $200+ tap. I've been to a lot of restaurants and have experienced bad service before. But this was the worst service and comp I've received in some many years. My hope was to have a restaurant in the neighborhood that I come to regularly enjoy. I can't patronize an establishment that has this level of service. read more

The Bronzeville Winery has become my summer spot. The service is on point and friendly. The Mamba Juice is the perfect summer cocktail. I love all of the wine and sangria options. I've tried Orange wines at other restaurants and never found one I liked until I had the Palles at Bronzeville Winery. Food is also good. If you're vegan or vegetarian and have been missing the taste of steak, the grilled watermelon is the entree you've been wishing for! read more

Uniquely crafted dishes, fresh flavors and well curated wine flights. Attentive staff and B was especially enjoyable!

You talk about Black excellence, that's exactly what this place is. My fiancé and I were referred to this place by a friend and it exceeded the expectations! First off the place looks like it stepped out of a Washington D.C lounge and looks immaculate! The service is top notch and the staff and other attendees made us feel like family. The DJ was off the chain! And the food, first off the presentation is incredible and everything was so fresh and cooked exactly as ordered as I had the steak frites. We will definitely be back and can't wait! read more

Listen. To. Me. RUN! DON'T WALK! TO THIS PLACE! LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT! There were 4 of us. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Their in house sommelier came over and answered all questions regarding their wine options. We chose 2 reds, mine was a sweet one called Sun Garden. Theirs was comparable to Malbec, can't remember the name sorry. I didn't take a pic of everything because I was trying not to be "that person." That said, the sweet potato ribbons are brought out complimentary so in addition to that we ordered the sprouts and shrimp appetizers. For our entrees we had 2 Gnocchi, the BW Burger and a salad with added salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The flavor in the gnocchi was out of this world. I could eat it everyday. That was the first time I've ever tried gnocchi and I'm glad that dish was an excellent first impression. Overall, the ambiance is chill. There was a DJ, but the music wasn't overwhelmingly loud. The service was great and we even got to meet Chef Whitney. As they say hats off to the chef. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING THIS PLACE OUT. read more

I and the wife decided to drop by to check this new and exciting Black Owned Business out, I say New because in the community it is new and exciting to have such a business. The staff was exceptional, very attentive to our needs. The atmosphere is classic urban and retro. The music was at the time, Soulful House, yet perfect for the location. We decided to go with their two top cocktail's, both very delicious. The menu had some good things on it, but nothing really grabbed my interest, but this is just me you might find it enticing. Would I visit the Winery again, Absolutely! read more

The pairings of wines and food are great combinations. The design is very nice and eloquent. The service is great for a city restaurant.

We celebrated our 11th anniversary with such amazing hospitality, service, and food. B, our server, was so incredibly dope. A true gem. The quality of the food is on par with a 5-star restaurant. read more

Best bartender in the neighborhood! I described what I wanted the wine to taste like and he nailed it!

Service was excellent and food was delicious. The establishment was clean and the music was nice.

Yesterday me and my aunt visited Bronzville Winery for the first time and it was an amazing experience. It did not disappoint. Gabriella was our server and she is also the manager and coordinator of their wine club. She was so fun and had our whole section entertained. They didn't have the type of wine or prosecco I normally drink but we tasted until I found something I like. And it was better than my normal stuff! The food was absolutely delicious. My aunt is gluten free and they accommodated her so well. Not only with their gluten free menu options but also by custom making some of their other dishes to be gluten free. Gabriella also gave us amazing recommendations and food options. We sat outside and got all of the summertime chi feels in the neighborhood. I can't wait to return. read more

In my opinion this is the BEST restaurant in Bronzeville! I've been twice and the food and service were top notch with a Bronzeville vibe - if you don't know what that vibe is - check this place out read more

Overall the atmosphere was good the staff was very pleasant and all. However the food was real slow and when it arrived it was only luke warm but good. The only thing I didn't like was putting the menu inside all the napkins. That's rather unsanitary so I asked for a clean napkin. read more

The service and the food were outstanding. I was there with few other people and everyone said their meals were delicious. Bronzeville Winery does not disappoint. Bravo!! read more

Third time here. The ambiance and vibes are great. The bartender definitely knows how to make a decent drink but this last time I came, they had ran out of steak for the night so that was a little disappointing and seemed kind of odd for a Thursday night when the place was not that packed. Did end up sending the whipped mashed potatoes back - a little dry and no flavor read more

The food is always consistently good here along with a great vibe inside. One thing I must say, is that often the dishes (dinner) are on the smaller size I recently went and ordered the wild mushroom pasta, and I almost mistaken it for a side dish instead of a full one. Lol. read more

Fabulous new restaurant for a fun night out! I went recently with my mom and we both loved it. The flavors in the dishes are amazing! We loved every bite. Appetizers were had were sweet potato ribbons and the hummus (a delicious twist on hummus). Entrees we shared were the salad, watermelon steak, and gnocchi with shrimp & scallops. Amazing. My red wine was great as well. Then the chocolate pie was a delish ending, including its fabulous crust and French press coffee. Topping that off is the friendly staff - everyone from the hostess to manager Amy Jennetten to our server Iraa and the sommelier were outstanding. And chef Whitney McMorris visited our table to check on us multiple times and was super friendly! The music was fun and the atmosphere is hip and lively. Valet parking. Can't wait to return! read more

My partner & I have been wanting to try this place since it opened. We thought Valentine's Day was the perfect opportunity. Frankly, it was not what we expected. I assume the bad service was because of the amount of people were there (I assume they over booked the reservations) but it was exaggerated. We had reservations for 7:30 & saw that there were a good amount of people waiting for their table. When we got there there were people in front of us waiting for the very nice hostess to take them to their table. After literally more than 10 minutes of standing, the hostess finally let the couple know they'd have to wait at the bar for their table. We were next & no one checked in with us for about 15 min, until that same hostess saw as at the bar & asked us for our names. In total, it took us 45 min to get seated, after the fact that we had reservations. Our appetizer took so long to get to us, but we thought the worst was over. We were wrong. Our waitress asked us if we were ready for desert & didn't realize we hadn't had our main entree yet. She apologizes & takes our order for the main entre. It took a total of more than 40 min for that to come out. During this, we were talking to other couples on both sides of our table and they expressed the exact same frustration. After looking around the restaurant, it was very clear everyone was upset. I mean literally everyone. At that point, the couple next to us and us were ready to leave. However, everything was already pre paid. The entire dinner was paid for when the reservations were made. So it's not like we wanted to lose out on our money. Our desert literally took 50 min to come out. The couple next to us were seated wayyyy before us and they STILL hadn't gotten their desert. My partners desert was burnt. We didn't even finish it. We took one bite, got up & left. Over all, the food was okay and the service was horrible. I wanted so bad to like this place, but Valentine's Day was a disaster. I wish there was some form of accountability taken on their part because when I say everyone in that restaurant was upset, it was everyone. It was pretty sad to see the couples next to us were not having a good time and that really bummed me out. read more

I tried this place because the owner also runs The Silverroom, and I wanted to support. TLDR, I was blown away. The food was delicious, the drinks were divine, and the ambiance was modern and sophisticated. To start, we received a complimentary bowl of sweet potato ribbons. These were essentially ribbon-shaped chips and came with a delicious dipping sauce. To share, we ordered the hummus and pita. I prefer plain hummus with garlic. With that said, this dish came with pomegranates, and I ate it all! For my entree, I ordered the seafood gnocchi. I love gnocchi but am apprehensive about ordering it at new restaurants because it often comes out chewy and bland. I was happily surprised that the seafood gnocchi was well seasoned and melted in my mouth. The dish also came with shrimp and scallops, which were perfectly seasoned and cooked. To drink, I had a Negroni, and it was a strong and well-balanced mix of gin and vermouth. I'm so happy to have a place like this on the south side!!! read more

Great experience dining here even with some minor hiccups. Staff was super friendly from the bartenders to the servers. The food was really good and worth the wait as the kitchen was backed up. One thing that wasn't great was when we arrived (on time) for our reservation the hostess said she got us all checked in and will let us know when our table will be ready. While waiting we grabbed drinks at the bar. 30 mins go by, my fiancé goes to check on the wait and another host (not the same one we checked in with) said our reservation was cancelled because we were a no show? That was a bit alarming since we were there the whole time and did in fact check in but she accommodated us and sat us a few minutes later. Could of been a honest mistake as we were there on a Saturday evening & it was busy. Loved the live DJ too it was a fun & welcoming vibe all around. read more

This place is a vibe! Black-owned restaurant with delicious food and great-looking drinks. The music really set the mood. I believe they have a live DJ some nights. The space is romantic, dimmed lights, and lots of greenery. The staff were FANTASTIC! Great service! We had the brussel sprouts and shrimp appetizers. I loved seeing their partnerships on the menu including a collab with Dar Matter and Haji Healing Salon. I will definitely be back!! read more

Extremely poor service and servers have a bad attitude. Most likely because they are guaranteed a 20% tip - automatically added to the check - regardless to the service. Servers need training - service is always to the left and you don't reach over people's face to gather empty dishes. Food arrived before drinks - actually drinks didn't come until appetizers were eaten and dinner was about to be served - WHAT?!! Food was good not great - but they need to bring it to the table while it is still hot, no one likes cold fries or fried shrimp. Drinks are watered down so bring a flask to add libation! Music too loud, difficult to hold a conversation over dinner. The place is trying to be a restaurant, wine bar, dance club all rolled into one. Pick a lane and try to excel in it!!! I will never go back here and will not recommend. One more point, either print more wine lists and supply more than one for a table of more than four people or better yet come into the 21st century and put it on a QR code and let patrons scan with their phones. There problem solved - critical thinking is everything!! read more

Food was very tasty and the ambiance is phenomenal. Glad to see this in the community

I paid 23. for my reservations. I understood that that would be taken from your bill. It was not. I keep trying to contact them. Their voicemail is full. I did find the name of a person and she has never returned any of my calls. My niece ordered wine she didn't get it till we were about to leave. They mistakenly gave us a bill for $200. We waited a long time for the correct bill. We were asked to hurry up because they needed the table. We told them we can wait at the front for the bill . Then they decided it's ok to sit and wait and we waited even longer for the correct bill. My fries were cold. My beet salad was soggy. I guess I'll need to drive there to get my $20 refund for the reservation. I won't go back. read more

Excellent vibe! Great service. Thanks for the playlist DJ. Sicilia was excellent and so were the wait staff. I (WE) will definitely be back.

From the service to the style, this place is FIRE! I've had the pleasure of enjoying meals here a couple of times and it has hit in the best ways every time. As a pescatarian, they have plenty of options for us. I've tried everything I possibly could and by far my 2 favorite dishes are the Gnocchi and the Brussel Sprouts! All of my friends rave about he burger too so please try it! All in all, if you're looking for a modern aesthetic with a foundation of classic soul, this is the spot for you! I had been so curious about the Bronzeville Winery, since it's opening here in my community. So, when I decided to celebrate my mom's birthday, this was the only place I wanted to bring her to and they did not disappoint. We were a party of 8, that turned into 9, that without skipping a beat, the staff went over and beyond to accommodate. Once seated, our experience was amplified with such well presented entrees, that were all sooo good that you couldn't go wrong with choosing anything on the menu. The servings were quite generous as we were able to sample from each other's plates. The Chef had even come over to introduce himself, putting a face to his culinary skills. I appreciate our server, China, who navigated our large party with ease and patience. I also would like to thank the management for the complimentary birthday surprises that were given that went a long way to making this birthday for my mom so very special. You've gained several repeat patrons :) Thank you again and much continued success to your establishment! ~LaShan Berry read more

Out celebrating my friend Karita birthday today at Bronzeville Winery and let me tell you this Black Owned Restaurant was EVERYTHING . The service was Impeccable. The food was tasty even the Brussels sprouts and I'm not a fan of them. They have a nice wine selection and cocktails . The atmosphere was warm and inviting . We had the top chef(s) come out and talk with us and recommended items and we even chatted with the owner. We also had someone to recommend wine to pair with our dinner . (Not sure what his title was ) . The servers were awesome as well and friendly . We didn't have to wait for anything for a long period of time. It's hard being a business owner in this industry especially for people who look like us. I'm definitely returning and I hope whoever is reading this check them out . I normally don't do reviews but I have to give praise and respect to this new black owned restaurant in the bronzeville community read more

Absolutely horrible! I wish it was a "No Star" option. Yes, the esthetics are nice in the dining space, but that is where it ends. The food was horrible! I was seriously appalled by this...in a "black owned" establishment. Mac n' cheese was horrible. Pasta severely undercooked, cheese mix too sharp, zero seasoning. Steak was bland af! Like how do you not season meat well and be black owned? Make that make sense. Waiter was absolutely odd af! Poor social skills and even worst at execution of any basic task. That man couldn't multitask to save his whole life and then had the nerve to get snarky. He couldn't clean off dirty dishes from the table, forgot drink orders, appetizers came out exactly 7 minutes before mains etc. Menu for dinner absolutely lackluster. They turn the lights down too low to attempt to create an "ambiance" while just making it dark for no reason and music getting louder on a random Wednesday. And the absolute kicker...no carry out boxes for ordered food in the whole establishment! Waiter literally went across to a dollar store to buy boxes. Just ridiculous and embarrassing. I try to support local businesses and get hit with pure foolishness. Don't waste your time or money. Speaking of money...nothing we ate, sharable's to main dishes were actually eaten or worth the cost. Everyone at my party of 10 boxed up and left with styrofoam containers of food, to season themselves at home, and given bags that didn't even hold the containers. Just horrible, embarrassing and annoying! read more

This place deserves it praises! The customer service, the food, the wine, and the scenery all amazing!

Had the pleasure of being served by "B" during a very delicious and flavorful meal last night! She was courteous, attentive, knowledgeable and very professional. Before the end of the meal, we were convinced we had to have been cousins in a previous life! This was my first time at Bronzeville Winery and "B" made the experience all the more memorable. I had the gnocchi, which was very good and sizeable (with enough leftover for today's lunch) along with the wine flight at "B's" recommendation and she was on point! Truly enjoyed myself and highly recommend! Ask for "B" and tell her that her "cousin from another life" sent you! read more
