Kitchen Direct and the President and Owner Scott Curti took $35,000 of our money and never…read morecompleted the renovation of our kitchen. All our bottom kitchen doors and drawers were made incorrect. We were given plywood doors and drawers when we paid for real wooden doors. All the staining was missing throughout the kitchen. Front and bottom panels were never installed, and a top cabinet door was never made. Because of the wrong size cabinets we also cannot access our trash or recycling bins. The cabinets we chose were Showplace Cabinetry and even though our kitchen is under warranty, Showplace refuses to do the warranty work, as Showplace will only deal with Kitchen Direct, and they refuse to help the customer even after Kitchen Direct refused to complete our kitchen. Through the entire kitchen renovation there has been a multitude of mistakes, errors and inaccurate measurements etc. Scott Curti sent us a letter, telling us that he was too frustrated and he quit. We fought this for months through the BBB and the RI Attorney General's Office. In RI if you do not go through a very reputable company, the company and contractor will not be held liable to complete the work that you have paid them for. The laws have to be changed. I have called Showplace and sent emails to the President, only to be hug up on and emails that went unanswered. The Attorney General's Office does not have jurisdiction upon forcing Kitchen Direct and the owner Scott Curti to complete our kitchen. We have been living a nightmare, and we do not have the money to obtain an Attorney, which is our only recourse. After paying $35,000 our only option will be to paint the entire kitchen and hire someone to build a cabinet door and all the missing panels. If Scott Curti has a rebuttal with this complaint, PLEASE BE AWARE!!!! Do not purchase any cabinetry from Kitchen Direct or that is made by Showplace as they will not stand by mistakes that any kitchen company makes. My husband is in his 80's and I am almost 80. After initially defecting blame and trying to tell me that this level of dust was expected, the manager finally went and checked their own pile at the business to discover it was also a bad batch. He then wanted me to use what I could of the stone ("even under your planters if you can"... exact words from the manager) to save them from having to haul it back. He committed to calling back in two days once he could work with the quarry to get the stone replaced. A week later (and no phone calls) I call back to get more excuses about the quarry and more changing stories about whos fault it is (never theirs). After more dragging their feet they finally came to pickup the bad stone, only to trespass into my backyard and take photos. refuse to refund the stone I buried because they don't like the bad review I left. Follow up: The business had their delivery driver illegally break into my back yard and take photos to try to "prove" the stone was ok, not even understanding I already purchased replacement stone from Lowes. These guys are old school RI shady, DONT USE THEM. Plenty of other way options without the terrible customer service or awful quality products.

The sign in the showroom reads: "In stock items are subject to a 15% restocking fee if returned within 30 days of purchase with a sales receipt, in full cartons, excluding outlet or sales items". After just a couple of days, I tried to return my order, unopened, in full cartons, with a sales receipt, and purchase tile in a different color. I fully understood that I would be charged a 15% restocking fee. The salesperson told me when I purchased the tile that it was "in stock" and coming from their NY warehouse. When I tried to return it though, the store manager told to me it was a "Special Order" and the sale was final. How is something coming from your own warehouse a special order? Sound like B.S. to me! Buy your tile someplace else. The big box stores let you return single tiles, in opened cartons and with or without a sales receipt and there is no restocking fee, period!
