We dined at The Ravenous Pig again on our most recent trip to Orlando, and I'm happy to report it's…read morestill every bit as incredible as it was when we first stumbled upon it in 2024. The steak frites are just as magnificent as my boyfriend and I remembered. Have you ever had a food memory? Years ago, my dad made the best steak I've ever had. He passed away when I was a kid, and two summers ago, when I took my first bite of the steak here, my mouth watered... but so did my eyes. It was one of the strangest, most beautiful experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. For a moment, it felt like Dad was sitting at the table with us. To taste something so familiar, something I hadn't experienced in over twenty years, was surreal. That's not a compliment I hand out lightly. So we each had that For this visit, we started with the rock shrimp tacos, and they absolutely did not disappoint. They packed a nice little kick without overwhelming the dish, and we practically inhaled them. Of course, we had to finish the meal the same way we did last time: with churros. Somehow they were even better than we remembered. Crispy, warm, perfectly sweet, exactly the kind of dessert that makes you argue over who gets the last bite. My boyfriend ordered two Old Fashioneds, and I had two Cosmos. Both were delicious and definitely generous on the pour. I was a little concerned when we arrived for our 8:00 p.m. reservation because the place was PACKED for a Thursday night. We ended up waiting a bit past our reservation time. The hostess suggested we grab a drink at the bar, but that area was just as crowded, so we hung out in the lobby instead. The wait ended up being completely worth it because we were seated at the exact table I was secretly hoping for: the most perfect little corner window booth, straight out of a movie scene. It was the ideal setting for our last night of vacation. And then there was our server, Anton. Anton could teach a master class on waiting tables. He was efficient, funny, attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what he was doing. In a world where great service sometimes feels like a lost art, Anton was an absolute delight. The Ravenous Pig delivered once again: phenomenal food, excellent cocktails, memorable service, and one of those meals you'll still be talking about long after you've gone home. We can't wait for our next trip to Orlando and our next visit back.

The snapper collar tacos were the star of the show. Easily enough to share between two people, with fresh fish and really good homemade corn tortillas. The fish of the day was also excellent and the fresh ciabatta with garlic butter was hard to stop eating. The cauliflower appetizer missed the mark a bit for me, the pieces were a little too big and came out slightly undercooked. The chicken salad was just alright, nothing bad but nothing memorable either. Parking can be a little tough in the area, but the complimentary valet makes it much easier. I love that they have a quicker option out back with the beer garden, you can't go wrong!

You know, when Mama pulls out all the stops and makes the specialties the family has come to love. Everything about this little place says home. It's clean and simple and unassuming and comfortable. Every person in the place is friendly and welcoming. Whether they are staff or customers - it's old home week. And the food. Go out of your way to get there. I got simple meal since it was my first trip. Rib sandwich (says 3 bones, I got 4), greens and yellow rice. And a brownie. Ribs are tender, perfectly seasoned, well sauced fall off the bone amazing!! The collard greens are cooked perfectly. Even the rice is very tasty. I am a customer for life!!

The red velvet cord near the entrance was a nice touch - made us feel like royalty walking in. There was a nice-looking outdoor seating area, but it was 98 degrees out and not shaded, so even my lizard-as* couldn't do it. There was a separate seating area inside though. You order at the counter. Everyone we encountered was super friendly. We got help with the menu and some suggestions on options. I opted for the rib dog and side of mac and cheese. I also got a sweet tea. My husband got the brisket with fries and a (canned) Diet Coke. The rib dog was pretty impossible to pick up and eat, but was very tasty. The mac and cheese maybe top 3 I have ever had. The brisket my husband ordered was quite tasty, pretty smokey (not my fave, but he loved it). Meat was moist and tender. It was about $42 total before a tip for the two of us and we both had leftovers for another meal. This place is a little out of our way, but we would definitely stop in again if we were in the area. If I was really craving good mac and cheese might even make a special trip (being honest - I love bbq places for the sides. Its shameful but true.)

From the host to our server m, we couldn't ask for a better service encounter. It was busy and after 830p (they close at 10). I'm usually against late night dinning that close to closing because it's usually not a good experience. Glad to be proven wrong in this case. We got the boudin rolls to start to go along with The Jefferson and the Jackson Square Spritz (all pictured well most of the boudin got devoured). Word to the wise, if you getting the full portion Po Boys, you better be hungry cuz them things will feed an army. Food was delicious. We had the Fried catfish and crawfish basket, and the Walter's Spicy Southern Club, and the lil one had the fried shrimp and fries (she's a picky eater and she loved the shrimp). For dessert I had a Sazerac . Stop in and have yourself a taste of NOLA.

The food did not live up to a New Orleans inspired menu... it lacked seasoning, very disappointing. The fish was bland, the rice was bland...I have been to New Orleans a few times and unfortunately thr food did measure up. The salad was good, that was the only bright spot in the meal. Our server was fantastic and the other staff members were equally pleasant..5 stars for service and ambiance and 2 stars for the food.

They brought mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese with three cheeses, baked beans, green beans with bacon, cornbread, brisket, turkey, pulled pork, and chicken. Everything looked delicious, but personally, had to for go for the sides and that pulled pork! I made a pulled pork sandwich with the hot BBQ sauce on top. I also had to try a little bit of the turkey because most places are dry. Surprisingly, the turkey might have been just as good as the pulled pork was. The mac and cheese was the star of the sides in my opinion. The pasta was perfectly cooked and it was cheesy and creamy with a nice little crust on top. The green beans were also really good. They both tasted homemade. My only complaint is that some of the potatoes weren't completely cooked in the mashed potatoes. But other than that everything was great. They also brought deserts like chocolate cake, banana pudding, and tiramisu. I only tried the chocolate cake, but I got plenty of confirmation that the others were delicious as well.
