They're an Orlando staple and there's a reason why locals love them. It's drive-thru only with some outdoor patio seating, but if you're like me, you just pull into a random parking lot after and chow down in your car in the A/C. These taco may be small, but they are packed with protein. They have very simple ingredients - corn tortillas (doubled up), a single protein, diced onions, fresh cilantro, lime wedges, and their salsa verde on the side. This time I got the carne asada, chorizo, and al pastor tacos. 3 tacos absolutely fills me up. The chorizo and al pastor tacos (both pork) were amazing. I was not impressed by the carne asada during my last visit. It was very dry and lacked seasoning. The other two hit the spot though and I'll still keep coming back for more.

The portions are so generous I have to eat half and the other one the next day. It keeps well and was so delicious as an encore!

Talking Tacos is, welcoming, and has a fun energy to it. I love the vibrant blacklight aesthetic! It has quickly become one of my favorite taco spots. The food came out fast and was super delicious! Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were generous for the price. The drinks were just as good as I remembered, and the free refills are always a huge plus! It's not always easy for restaurants with multiple locations to stay consistent, but this one definitely delivered. Great food, great atmosphere, and friendly service. I'll definitely be stopping by again whenever I'm in the area.

I love their version of a crunch wrap as well as anything birria that they offer. My only real gripe is that their drink selection is lacking as they don't have traditional soda fountain drinks. It is basically just canned drinks or custom flavored lemonade drinks, which typically cost around $5 each. Also, make sure to bring your wallet as their food in general is $$$ for fast casual. However, the higher quality makes it worth it to me.

5 Star update because this is still my go-to for exceptional tacos from a family-owned business!…read more(pro-tips: 1) get the fish taco immediately, 2) bring your vegetarian friends) I've been coming to Black Rooster since they first opened, but had to update my COVID-era review (because those times were straaange). I'm a creature of habit and am thankful for a restaurant that stays consistent in terms of quality and experience! PLUS, my husband and I can both find tons of options to eat here (not always easy when you're married to a vegetarian!). The vegetarian friendly options include their black beans, smoked greens taco, plantains, kale caesar salad, kale salad, BR nachos, and of course the chips, salsa, and made-to-order guac. My absolute faves food-wise: - The Smoked Greens taco. I'm not a vegetarian, but this vegetarian taco rivals any of its meat compadres. Made up of kale, shiitake mushroom, plantain, onion, ricotta cheese, and cilantro, this bad boy is smokey with that perfect little addition of sweet from the plantain. Truly a favorite! - The Black Rooster Asada. It looks pretty simple- some brown meat with cilantro on top. But don't let it's appearance deceive you! It's actually filled with seared beef, apple wood smoked bacon, Oaxaca cheese, chile poblano, onion, cilantro, 3 chile-tomato salsa. Because all of the ingredients are tossed together you get a wallop of flavor, with that basic look. She's not ideal for a colorful taco Instagram pic, but she's got more flavor then you can imagine! Spice level- Mild/Medium - Fish Taco. For a more picture-worthy option, this one's got colors upon colors! Crispy beer battered and local, pickled cabbage, remoulade sauce, avocado, cilantro, radish mean it's green, white, orange, purple, etc etc. She's a looker, but the flavor is there to back it up. Without a doubt this is my favorite fish taco in town. - Cilantro Poblano Rice. We love a green rice, and I could eat this on its own all day every day. Don't miss out on this often-overlooked side! Overall, a really wonderful business featuring great ingredients (including house-made tortillas). (and you can order delivery right from their website!)

One star only because Yelp does not allow zero. We arrived…read morearound 10:50 p.m. The cashier was friendly and clearly told us our order had to be to go. We agreed. While we were eating, the owner came over around 11:15 and barked, "Time to go--leave, leave, leave," as if he were chasing animals out of his restaurant. To be clear, I have no problem with being asked to leave after closing. The problem was the owner's arrogant, aggressive, and humiliating way of speaking to paying customers. We were not loud, causing trouble, or refusing to leave. One polite sentence would have solved everything. The most disturbing part is that this was not an untrained employee--it was the OWNER. That means the disrespect comes directly from the top. He was happy to accept our money at 10:50, but twenty minutes later treated us like garbage he needed removed. Good food cannot compensate for an owner who shows this much contempt toward his own customers. There are plenty of taco restaurants in Orlando run by people who understand basic manners and appreciate your business. Spend your money at one of them. I will never return to Black Rooster Taqueria, and I strongly recommend avoiding it.

Saw the fantastic reviews on this place and figured I would finally give it a shot. Boy, am I happy I did!! Mexas has quickly become one of my go-to places to eat when I am in the Orlando area- both locations, although I think I love this express location best. I've now shared it with many of my favorite people (my son, my best friend, my boyfriend) on our trips together and everyone has been blown away. The birria is fantastic, full stop. My first time, I came for street tacos.... But as soon as I tried the birria it was over for me. I haven't wanted to order anything else since. The birria quesadilla is absolutely massive and meant to be shared with at least one other person. It's a counter service spot, and they tend to be busy if you come during peak times- but food service is always fast, and every time I've had a question, they have been super friendly and patient with answers. The margaritas are strong, but decent- they are clearly premixed so nothing outstanding, but still tasty and they do the job. The guacamole is also phenomenal. Do yourself a favor and give this local spot a try!

I bought 3 chicken tacos (about 12 dollars), then sat in an empty table to wait. It was ready for me in under 10 minutes. The tacos were small, but they had a good amount of chicken, cheese, onions, tomato, and cilantro. A choice of sauce was included, and I took the hot red sauce. The sauce was small, but still ample enough to pour over the three tacos. The flavors were pretty good (thanks to the heat from the sauce) and it was filling enough for me, though the flour tortillas was a bit too hard for me. The service was pretty good, though I ordered from the kiosk and I picked up my order after they called my name. However, they did check up on me, as well a provided water to cops, and removed empty items from the tables. The staff were quite friendly. The dining area was small and a bit boring. There were 2TVs showing ads for their products, and 1 displaying a horse race. The restaurant was quite cramped, and I was thankful to find a table. It's located in downtown, so parking will be either in a meter or a garage. This restaurant serves pretty good tacos at a reasonable price, but the atmosphere was a bit bland for a taqueria. It was also small and can get crowded and full easily. Best to have this to go or delivered. It's still a nice restaurant for tacos in downtown.
