Decided to try the take out fish and chips tonight. This place has changed hands a few times in…read morerecent years and I'm looking forward to seeing it thrive. They have done a nice job sprucing things up a bit and revamping the kitchen. Hope to see the red carpet in the dining room go at some point. A bit under staffed as they get on their feet a lot of work for one person at front of house to manage, quite a long wait for walk ins due to covid restrictions on the dining room. Definitely call ahead for a reservation. Staff was friendly and polite took our order correctly. Our meals where pretty good! We got two orders of the Fisherman's platter. One with fries and one with a Ceasar salad. Breading on the fish was light the halibut was a nice large piece! Cooked perfectly nice and flakey not greasy at all. The scallops and shrimp where cooked well too. Chips where fresh and light. The Ceasar salad was not worth the 3.50$ dollars for the upgrade. They just tossed two strips of bacon with it. No croutons, red onion or even parmasean. Was also dissapointed that they didn't do a home made tartar sauce and also no lemon provided with the fish. At first I was excited to see the paper in the take out bag! Then realized they wrapped the take out box in paper. Hopefully they will cut back on the waste and just wrap the fish in that beautiful paper moving forward. Would really love to see this place stick to fish and chips and sea food options and perfect their sides. Would love to see more fish and seafood meals and stay away from the burgers etc and really specialize on the seafood. There's plenty of wing and burger family restaurants and I think they could really make a go of it if they keep it simple, fresh and refined! Found it a bit pricey but overall enjoyed out meals great piece of fish! This cost us 70$ with tax.

My go-to is fish & chips (alternating between halibut & haddock). Periodically I will get the (in-house) battered & fried mushrooms. Only periodically because they are a meal in themselves. So darn good but there's a lot of them. I would suggest sharing them with a friend. Anyway, the fish and chips are phenomenal: everytime. They just come out perfect. They carry the usual suspects for sodas and such, but they also have a number of rarely found gems. Some I have never even heard of. The root beer choices are a real stand out. Now, the ever important, service. It's right there with the quality of their fare. Cheery, welcoming staff. There's a genuine interest in getting you want as opposed to just taking an order. Give them a go. They're lovely.

What a nice little hidden gem. I usually don't like to give 5 star reviews (because people don't…read moreread them) but this place deserves it. A small, quaint throwback restaurant. Portions were huge and priced right. I had halibut and chips, my partner had fish on a bun. The pickles were breaded! What a great idea. Very tasty. Fries and fish are made to order. Hot and fresh. We had to take some home with us. It was so much food. Staff were friendly and always able to help us with more tartar sauce, napkins and takeout containers. 2 meals plus generous tip was $45. Well worth the visit. Best fish and chips I have had in a long time.

I will not be back. It's a single portion of fish for $18 at the cheapest and up from there. The fries are fine and portion of those is good imo, then you get a teeny coleslaw if you opted for the upgrade which is a regular thing with fish and chips but price wise makes no sense to me.

Pros: The staff are consistently friendly and always remind you about the regular and gluten‑free menus, which offer a variety of options like fish and chips, fries, battered pineapple, and poutine. I have Celiac Disease and have eaten here many times with no issues related to cross‑contamination. My two favourites are the gluten‑free battered mushrooms with house sauce and the poutine -- both generous portions, the mini poutine fills me up. Food is made fresh to order and comes out hot. Simple ordering process you order from their food truck, which has a little sheltered interior. Typically I wait 7-15 mins for the food to be ready, theres also free condiments and seasoning that can be used, and there is a small outdoor picnic areas to sit. It's a nice spot to stop for lunch. Cons: Parking can be difficult during peak times. The food is on the expensive side, especially the gluten‑free menu (which I have to order from due to Celiac). The to‑go utensils are a bit flimsy 50% of the time the forks break, and the elastic bands use to hold the togo lids on broke on 2 out of 3 items I ordered, and one spilled my last trip, which was frustrating. (I'd get gravy on the side just next time). Sometimes the battered mushrooms have a fishy smell makes me believe they are using the same oil as the fish which i dont like, with the mushrooms being a vegetarian option. Finally they dont accept credit cards only cash and debit which may be a hassle to some. Overall I would recommend this restaurant/ food truck to others :)
